With 2012′s first Friday the 13th approaching, it’s inspired a fan to send Lee Hyori a hilarious message.

Friday the 13th is generally considered to be one of the unluckiest calendar days, and it’s the basis for one of Hollywood’s biggest horror franchises.

Going back to the Hyori story, her fan tweeted, “Today is Friday the 13th, so I’m sending you this tweet saying that women with big breasts should not shower. Unni, please be careful!”

The fan was referring to the thriller ‘Friday the 13th‘, where voluptuous women taking a shower often become victims of the masked maniac, Jason.

Hyori laughed at the message and playfully tweeted back, “Hmm hmm… then I should be careful!”

It’s been reported that YG Entertainment’s stylist, Ji Eun, gave a special lecture at the Seoul Art Technical College. During the guest lecture, Ji Eun stated, “For idol groups, it’s important to respect each member's preference and express their distinct characteristics.” She added, “For example, Big Bang’s TOP doesn’t like revealing clothes, so we avoid them entirely.”

Regarding Daesung, she revealed, “We try to find the right outfits and styles that accentuate Daesung’s biceps.”

When styling YG’s artists for a concert, she takes into consideration the overall flow of the concert, when each song will be performed, when each artist make his/her appearance, etc. She emphasized that the stylists try to contrast the artists’ concepts from the beginning and the end of the show.

Ji Eun has been in charge of styling Jinusean, 1TYM, Gummy, Big Bang, and other YG artists since the beginning of YG Entertainment.

Hiphop Playa Awards reveal nominated artists

Korea's biggest music website for hiphop music recently revealed their nominees for the "2011 Hiphop Playa Awards." The awards showcase the best and most well-known hiphop artists and releases of the past year, as well as rookie artists, waiting for their time to shine.

The awards consist of a group of artists, gathered in various categories such as "Album of the Year," "Rookie of the Year," "Single of the Year," "Producer of the Year," and "Featuring of the Year." Nominees include Leessang, Tablo, Verbal Jint, SAN E, DOK2, Block B's Zico, Vasco, Swings, Supreme Team's Simon D, and many others. The full list of nominees is added at the bottom of this article.

Voting started from January 11th, and will run until February 5th. Be sure to cast out your vote before nominations close!

After School to launch their first Japan tour in April

After School‘s management have revealed that the girls will kick off their first Japan tour this coming April!

The tour is being called ‘PLAYGIRLZ‘, and it’s scheduled to kick off at the Zepp Tokyo on April 27th, followed by the Zepp Nagoya on April 28th. The girls will then move onto Namba, Osaka for the 30th.

Member UEE expressed, “Ever since our debut, it’s been a dream of mine to hold our own concert and so I’m really happy that it’s finally happening.” She continued, “All the members are looking forward to it. I will practice hard and show you a great performance.”

After School recently released their 3rd Japanese single, ‘Rambling Girls‘, and are making appearances in Japanese music shows.

Comedian Kim Ki-soo cleared of sexual assault charges

Comedian Kim Ki-soo has been cleared of sexual assault charges brought against him by a male composer in training who belonged to the same agency as the star. The Supreme Court confirmed on Jan. 12 the verdict issued in the two previous trials, ruling the defendant Kim is innocent.

“We doubt the testimony given by the plaintiff and as there is no credible evidence to support the accuser, we find the accused innocent of the charges brought against him,” the court declared.

Joo Ji Hoon pulls out of musical due to bad vocal cords

Actor Joo Ji-hoon, who was to star in the musical "Dr. Zhivago," has pulled out just two weeks before the grand opening on Jan. 27 due to problems with his vocal chords.

"It's obviously disappointing because Joo has worked very hard for the musical and he became quite attached to the project as it was his first work since he concluded his [mandatory] military service," said the actor's agent.

Joo's throat was not in a good condition at the end of last year and it got progressively worse in recent weeks, he added.

Joo, who enjoyed huge popularity after he switched careers from being a model to an actor, entered the military after he was involved in a drug scandal in the spring of 2009.

"The role of Dr. Zhivago will be now played solely by Hong Kwang-ho, who was originally meant to rotate the role with Joo. We will do our best to minimize any disruptions caused by Joo's departure," said the producers of the musical.

The blockbuster musical, which has a production cost of W25 billion, premiered in Sydney last February (US$1=W1,157). Following its run in Korea, the producers hope to take it to London's West End next year, and on to Broadway in 2014.

Hwanhee to sing “Don’t Leave” for ‘Padam Padam’ OST

Hwanhee‘s fans are in for a treat, as he’ll be singing the newest OST for the jTBC drama ‘Padam Padam‘.

‘Padam Padam’ will be distributing their third OST single, “Don’t Leave“, through online music sites on January 16th.

“Don’t Leave” is described to be a ballad that blends sweet notes from an acoustic guitar with Hwanhee’s husky voice. It marks the first collaboration between Hwanhee and composer Jun Young since Hwanhee’s Fly to the Sky days.

It has recently been revealed that former Wonder Girls member Sunmi is still currently a JYP Entertainment trainee.

A representative from JYPE informed OSEN on the 13th, “Sunmi has remained within the company and continues to sharpen her musical talents.”

According to the representative, Sunmi who left the Wonder Girls in 2009 is still with JYPE and continues to receive vocal coaching and dance training. However, there are no plans for her to return as a member of Wonder Girls.

B1A4's CNU made a brave confession saying that his ideal type is Krystal.

On the 14th January episode of MBC Every1's Weekly Idols, B1A4 made their appearance on the New Year special "Rookies who will make it big in 2012", and shared their stories without holding back.

On this day, B1A4 member CNU revealed that he is a fan of f(x)'s Krystal, and expressed that "it'll be nice if we could have a meal together, since I'm a huge fan of hers". His brave revelation caused the other members to panic.

South Korean marine gets death penalty for shooting

A SOUTH Korean Marine who killed four colleagues in a shooting spree after complaining of bullying has been sentenced to death after a court martial.

The 20-year-old corporal opened fire at a Marine Corps barracks on Ganghwa island near the North Korean border in July last year before trying to commit suicide with a grenade.

A Marine private found guilty of helping the corporal was sentenced to 20 years' imprisonment.

The corporal, identified only as Kim, and the private, surnamed Jung, told military investigators they had hatched their plan after being constantly bullied and beaten by superiors. Jung denied involvement in the actual shooting.

THE chairman of a small South Korean bank was found dead yesterday in what appeared to be the third suicide by an executive of one of the nation's troubled savings banks in recent months.

The death of Kim Hak-heon, chairman of Ace Mutual Savings Bank, comes as prosecutors are investigating allegations of illegal lending and bribery in the savings-bank industry.

Mr Kim was due to be questioned by prosecutors yesterday over allegations of illegal lending and accounting fraud, according to police.

Prosecutors didn't return calls seeking comment.

7 of 10 defectors satisfied with life in S. Korea: poll

Nearly seven out of 10 North Koreans are satisfied with their lives in South Korea, a government survey showed Friday, following Seoul's efforts to better accommodate the growing number of North Korean refugees.

The survey found 69.3 percent of 7,560 adult North Korean defectors in South Korea are either "very" satisfied or "somewhat" satisfied. An additional 25.7 percent rated their satisfaction as "average" and 4.8 percent say they are either dissatisfied or "very" dissatisfied.

Those who are satisfied with their lives said that is mainly because they get paid for their work here and can do what they want to do, according to the survey.
