jetaime-pyon.livejournal.comThe rumour started that the world famous US star, Justin Bieber, recently signed a contract with SM Entertainment to help him advance into the Asian music market to allow him to promote more successfully there. Justin Bieber may be a hit start in the States but because he isn’t as popular as most K-Pop idol groups when it comes to Asia he signed the contract.
Now this isn’t anything unusual as western artists tend to sign with Korean music labels to help promote in Asia, so you can expect that it did stir up things quite a bit.

For the past month, Big Bang has been dropping hints on their March comeback. According to industry officials, however, the boys could be making their return a month earlier than expected.
The boys had planned to release an album ahead of their ‘Big Show‘ concert in March. Officials believe that in order for this to be possible, their album has to be released by late February at the latest.
Taeyang recently revealed to Star News, “We’re planning for our ‘Big Show’ concert in March, and around that time, Big Bang will release a new album. Whether it’s an official studio album or a mini-album has yet to be decided.”
Officials have been noticing that YG Entertainment has been pooling all of their resources into Big Bang’s comeback album lately. They’ve been rushing to enlist music video directors and have concentrated their staff on its release.
Additionally, the members have already recorded a number of new songs together over their hiatus, thus lending weight to the claims made by officials that the album may be released by mid-February at the earliest.

B1A4 has participated in the OST for SBS‘s new drama, ‘Take Care of Us, Captain‘.The boys were given the opportunity to sing its main title track, a position not often given to rookie idol groups. Producers felt that B1A4 would fit admirably, and so they gave them the song ‘Sky‘, which airs with the drama’s pilot episode on January 4th.
Co-produced by composer Jo Min Sung and director Louie (who’s known for his work with the ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal‘ OST), ‘Sky’ creates a synergistic effect with B1A4′s sweet voices and the drama’s sky high theme.
Producers stated, “Right from the production stage of the drama, B1A4 was considered for the OST. We had a lot of anticipation for them and we’re sure that their sweet but powerful voices will create a great musical effect on the drama.”

A teaser image featuring Nine Muses‘ new eighth member Kyung Li left quite the impression yesterday, and the girls are ready to make another move with the release of another teaser image!
Kyung Li is still looking a bit scruffed up with smudged make up and all, but the new teaser gives some insight as to what happened with a tabloid themed layout in English alluding to a celebrity scandal.
Star Empire explained, “It’s a fictional teaser so we hope that people are able to come up with a variety of interpretations of it. We thought of going with a teaser like this to properly show what the feel of their comeback song will be like. The true concept will be shown in their music video teaser.”
Nine Muses will make their comeback on January 11th.

2NE1’s CL and the Black Eyed Pea’s Will.I.Am and Apl.De.Ap were picked #1 on the MTV Iggy’s “Top 10 International Collaborations That Blew Our Minds in 2011” list. It described the performance as:
“The K-pop star brought freshness to The Black Eyed Pea’s “Where is the Love” when she performed at the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMAs) with Will.i.am and Apl.de.ap. We loved her soulful vocals and urgent rap verses, but we really loved that this pairing was no coincidence. It was a reminder that the Will.i.am-produced 2NE1 album has been recorded and is now awaiting release. Now, there’s an international collaboration we can’t wait to hear.”
We’ve been waiting for the release of their collaboration album all year, and if this performance is any indication, we should be able to see it come out some time very soon. It’s great to see 2NE1 continue to gain international acclaim, as they were also featured in a BBC News report earlier this week.
Other notables to make the list include, Yukimi Nagano and SBTRKT, Superheavy, and Bjork and Omar Souleyman. You can see the full list here!

So most of the time, I listen to something by them.”
This isn't the first time Kat has mentioned 2NE1. She and "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Nina Dobrev expressed their fondness for 2NE1 via Twitter last year as well.
Meanwhile, 2NE1 won their first U.S. award last year whenthey were crowned the “Best New Band” by MTV IGGY. Just last month, they headlined the “MTV IGGY’S Best New Band Concert” in Times Square where they performed their hits “Fire,” “Can’t Nobody,” “Lonely,” and “I Am the Best.” Many Korean netizens have expressed their pride in 2NE1’s increasing recognition abroad.

(UPDATE) The Philippine K-Pop fandom proved once again that K-Pop is soooo hot and it does not show signs of cooling down. Over 5000 K-Pop fans and enthusiasts braved the heat and the crowd to attend the third Philippine K-Pop convention (KPOPCON3). This year's one-day event was held at the Megatent in Ortigas with over 60 of the biggest K-Pop fan clubs in the country including 2ne1PH, 2OneDay, 4minutePH, B2ST Philippines, BigBang Philippines, CNBluePH, Cassiopeia Philippines, GGPH, Primadonna Philippines, ShineeWorld PH, Shinhwa Philippines, UKissme PH, SJ United Philippines, Triple S Philippines, and many more.

The ladies of 2NE1 were recently included on MTV STYLE‘s fashion list, ‘Top 12 Girls to Watch in 2012‘.
On January 2nd, MTV STYLE posted an article that pointed out 2NE1 as one of the rising fashionistas of the world. “We’re keeping our eyes glided on 2NE1 as the new year progresses, namely because of their bestie collab status with our beloved Jeremy Scott and their enviable collection of high-drama streetcar like JoyRich,” the author writes.

Park Jung Min, the "sexy charisma" member of Korean idol group SS501, is set to visit Manila for a post-Valentine concert at the Manila Hotel on February 18, 2012. This special event aptly titled "Intimately Yours: Be Min's Valentines" promises to be a unique entertainment experience for Jung Min's fans. Attendees are instructed to come in red or black semi-formal attire to fit the show's intimate and romantic atmosphere.

Five-member boy group MBLAQ is set to join KBS variety show “Hello Baby” at the end of January.
“Hello Baby” is a show that presents idol groups with the real challenges of parenting and child-rearing. Previous groups appearing on the show include SNSD, SHINee, T-ara, Sistar, and Super Junior’s Eeteuk.
An official from MBLAQ’s agency told Joy News 24, “All of the MBLAQ members love kids and have been very interested in filming the new season.” He continued, “Mir and G.O. especially have shown a lot of interest in helping to raise the child.”
The official added, “Through this show, the members are hoping to show their individual charms.”
‘MBLAQ’s Hello Baby’ is scheduled to start filming next week, and should begin broadcast by the end of January.
Meanwhile, MBLAQ is scheduled to begin full-fledged promotions for their comeback following the release of their fourth mini-album, “Scribble,” on January 10th.

The Jung sisters have always been known for being affectionate with each other, and another instance of their closeness was recently caught on camera!
An online community board shared a video of the sisters on stage for the ending of the ‘2011 KBS Music Festival‘, held on December 30th. As a custom of music shows, all of the artists gathered on stage to bid their last farewells before the program ended.
Upon seeing her sister Krystal, Jessica rushed over with open arms, immediately grabbing her by the cheeks and planting kisses on her face. Although Krystal looks cool and uninterested, Jessica carries right on, reaching around for a back hug.
Netizens commented, “She’ll do anything for her sister,” “Looks good,” “Jessica really loves Krystal,” and “To think there was a side like this to the ice princess.”

Past photos of the Wonder Girls members have been surfacing online and currently creating a stir.
On January 3rd, photos of the members posing cutely for their webcams were uploaded on online community websites entitled, "Wonder Girls School Day".
Since digital cameras and smartphones were not yet in trend, Wonder Girls learned in the ways of the webcam during their younger days.
In the photos, the members showcased their innocent and adorable charms. Sohee mastered her "V-sign", Yenny and Sunye have the "45 degree face tilt", and lastly the crowd's favorite, Yubin showing off her boyish charms.

T-ara’s new song “Lovey Dovey” swept through music-download site charts, which made it their fourth song to instantly shoot to the #1 position on the charts in recent five months.
On January 3, the seven-girl group’s “Lovey Dovey” was revealed. As of today, the song is dominating the top positions on most of the Korean major music-download sites.
The moment “Lovey Dovey”’s 20-minute-long music video in which T-ara’s members and top star Cha Seung Won star was released on January 2, the song vaulted to the top positions on most searched word lists of various portal sites.
Thanks to the hit of “Lovey Dovey,” T-ara gets to have four songs which dominated the top ranks of music-download charts in recent five months.
T-ara’s previous songs “Roly Poly,” released in July last year and “Cry Cry,” in November last year, already swept through Korean music charts. When they released a joint song with Davichi, “We were In Love,” the song also ranked No. 1 as the third hit song in a row.
Added to these, the success of “Lovey Dovey” helped T-ara make a new record of placing four songs on top just in five months.
“Lovey Dovey,” written by proven songwriters, is an addictive song with strong beat based on electronic sound. The news that T-ara is preparing shuffle dance moves for the song has raised fans’ expectations.
T-ara’s first performance of “Lovey Dovey” will be aired on January 5 through M Countdown.

Sunny Hill has announced that they’ll be making a comeback this month with a new maxi-single!
The co-ed group received much love in 2011 for their powerful performances and unique lyrics with songs like “Midnight Circus” and “Pray“. They’re coming back this time with an image stronger than ever that plays up to their mysterious concepts.
Looking like a mix of sexy rockers against a hospital backdrop, the group combines muted colors and shades with an eye popping blue and some dramatic hair transformations.
Cho Young Chul, who worked with the group for their last album as well as produce for the likes of IU and Brown Eyed Girls, will be overseeing the direction of the album alongside composer Lee Min Soo and lyricist Kim Eana.
Loen Entertainment expressed, “The best staff in Korean will be producing Sunny Hill’s maxi-single so we’re sure that it will be a satisfactory album with the fans. Please look forward to it.”

The comedian Kim Gu Ra who is well known for his sharp tongue gave criticism about each entertainment agency and whether its members were good at variety shows.
He appeared on JTBC’s “Idol Preview” and told miss A and MBLAQ “We shouldn’t pick JYP (JYP idols) because they are not good at doing variety shows.”
MBLAQ stated, “We are not a part of JYP Entertainment.” Kim Gu Ra replied, “Even though a lot of Hyundae companies don’t have the name Hyundae, and if they are run by family, we still consider them as Hyundae associated companies. Even though you are a part of a different agency, Rain is still JYP’s protégé, that is why MBLAQ is associated with JYP.”
He continued, “SM Entertainment celebrities are a lot better at doing variety shows than JYP associated celebrities. YG is also just a bubble.”
