On December 29th, a post with a compilation of company photos began circulating on an online community board, leading netizens to compare and contrast the vastly different buildings from one another.

Netizens quickly noticed that SM Entertainment’s looked like a town hall, YG Entertainment‘s looked like a venture company, JYP Entertainment‘s looked like a theater, Cube‘s a cafe, Loen’s a bank, Core Content Media‘s an officetel, DSP Media‘s a wealthy home, Starship‘s a villa, and Dream Tea‘s a townhouse.

Netizens commented, “YG’s building is really amazing,” “Loen really does look like a company building,” “SM’s is kind of funny,” and “SM’s looks better on the inside.”

TVXQ to go on vacation starting New Year’s Day

After leading a busy and fruitful year traveling to countries all over the world, TVXQ will be going on vacation starting January 1st.

On December 30th, SM Entertainment revealed that TVXQ was awarded with a few days’ break ahead of their Japanese arena tour, which begins mid-January.

TVXQ has been constantly traveling back and forth between Korea and Japan all month. On the 29th, they were awarded the ‘Special Award’ at the ‘2011 MBC Entertainment Award‘ before performing as the ending stage at the ‘2011 SBS Gayo Daejun‘. On the 30th, they’ll be heading over to Japan for the TBS ‘Japan Record Awards‘, while on the 31st, they have a pre-recording with the ‘2011 MBC Gayo Daejaejun‘ in addition to NHK’s ‘Kohaku Uta Gassen‘.

As soon as they complete their Japanese schedules, they’ll be returning to Korea and enjoy their few days of break starting with the New Year.

Their Japanese arena tour will go through nine cities, including Tokyo.

T-ara Stays Changing The Game; Reveals Concept Pictures For Zombie Version of Lovey Dovey

T-ara has released a few concept photos of their zombie version of their “Lovey Dovey” MV!

As previously reported, “Lovey Dovey” will feature five music video installments, each with a specific theme. The zombie concept unveiled today goes with the third ‘Zombie’ themed music video. The other versions include themes such as ‘Tokyo’ and ‘Drama’.

Although the concept is meant to give a little spook, the members still managed to look eerily cute, as if they’re dressed up to celebrate Halloween. Netizens commented, “I wonder what kind of song it is,” “I love this zombie version!” and “Curious about the other versions!”

As reported previously, the song is produced by Shinsadong Tiger and Choi Kyu Sung and features an electronic sound. The single will be released on January 2nd, along with the first version of the MV, which will be the drama version. The various versions will follow after with the final version being released on January 10th.

2011 MBC Entertainment Awards Winners

On December 29th, the '2011 MBC Entertainment Awards' honored this year’s outstanding talents at the MBC Dream Center in Ilsan.

Unfortunately, the awards ceremony met with some difficulties that persisted throughout the show, earning criticism and dissatisfaction from its viewers.

The chain of mistakes began with the hosts, as MC Park Ha Sun stumbled through several speeches. Instead of recovering from her mistakes, she was seen covering her face with her hands, saying, “What do I do” into the mic. Viewers had hoped that Yoon Jong Shin would carry on the show, but he only mumbled and shied away from his usual witticisms.

More than anything, viewers were dissatisfied with the way MBC freely gave out awards, adding in categories that many felt were unnecessary. Most of the awards given out that night were ones that anyone could have won simply for attending.

MBC had also implemented a new system that would award TV shows, not an individual MC or comedian. This change was made largely due to the criticisms they received last year for giving out too many co-awards, which many felt dropped the value and prestige of the award.

Furthermore, MBC came under fire for giving the ‘Program of the Year’ award to the 'I Am A Singer' team.

While many agreed that ‘I Am a Singer’ had created a ripple effect in the industry, they felt that 'Infinity Challenge' was far more deserving of the award.

Hit rookie soloist Fat Cat has made a dramatic transformation for her comeback album, “Is Being Pretty Everything“.

Prior to the album’s release, Fat Cat shared some concept photos featuring a look that was more feminine, yet retained some of her ‘tough’ qualities. Her hair color drew a lot of attention in particular, as she went from a deep red to a strawberry blonde. Netizens welcomed the change, commenting, “Fat Cat looked powerful with red hair but she looks so innocent with blonde,” and “Fat Cat has so many different charms ranging from innocent, cute, to even confident.”

A representative of her agency expressed, “She went with a strong, red color for her debut since it was a powerful song, but her comeback song is bright and positive. In order to play up to the melody, she went with a brighter hair color tone.”

Fat Cat will be releasing her MV teaser on January 1st, followed by the single’s full release on the 6th.

Yoo Jae Suk’s devotion to his wife touches hearts

If there’s one thing that makes our jaded hearts melt just a little, it’s a great love story. Comedian Yoo Jae Suk earned bonus points with the public recently after one of his acts of devotion for his wife was revealed online.

On December 30th, an online community site posted a screen cap from a broadcast representative’s Twitter. The captured tweet read:  ”After our after-party, a Happy Together PD saw Yoo Jae Suk packing up food. He asked, “Why are you packing that?” and a bashful Yoo Jae Suk laughingly answered, “Whatever food I [eat] that I think tastes good, my wife seems to think so as well. That’s why I wanted to take this to her. That’s okay, right?””

After reading this post, netizens gushed over Yoo Jae Suk’s thoughtfulness. “True, sincere charisma“, “Na Kyung Eun must be so happy“, “The more I see him, the more I think he’s such a great role model,” they wrote.

Yoo Jae Suk met his wife Na Kyung Eun on the MBC program “Infinity Challenge” and they married in 2008. Na Kyung Eun and Yoo Jae Suk have welcomed a son last year named Ji Ho.

Meanwhile, on December 29th, Yoo Jae Suk won the 'Best Male Entertainer' at the “MBC Entertainment Awards“.

Actor and much loved ‘Running Man’ member Lee Kwang Soo revealed his druken habits.

Lee Kwang Soo appeared on the Decebmer 29th installment of KBS 2TV’s ‘Happy Together 3′ and was asked what his habit was when he gets drunk. Lee Kwang Soo answered, “I make a lot of phone calls. I like to call a lot of people.”

Lee Kwang Soo added, “These days I call Jong Kook hyung a lot. He cursed me out real bad because I’ve been calling a lot.”

As far as who he drinks with, Lee Kwang Soo said, “Kim Jong Kook hyung doesn’t drink but comes to hang out and I drink with Song Joong Ki too.”

It seems that friendship is thicker than water for current and former ‘Running Man’ members.

Chosen as one OSEN’s ‘Hottest People of 2011‘, CL and her members were praised for their ability to churn out chart-topping hits one after the other. The group has gone through a wide spectrum of genres this year which attributed to their success, but CL humbly chalked it up to “good timing.”

2NE1‘s Park Bom consoled her fans who attended ’2011 SBS’ Gayo Daejun’.

On December 30th, she tweeted, “I really want to buy the Black Jacks jjajangmyun [black bean noodles] today. Truthfully, even though it was a terrible day today, if there are days like today, there are bound to be better days as well.”

In the selca, her face is partially covered in a blue and red cheetah patterned scarf as she frowns at the camera, as if to show the frustration fans must have felt.

The ‘terrible day’ Bom is in reference to the problems that occurred during SBS‘s ‘Gayo Daejun‘. It’s been rumored that in addition to the clumsy progression of the show, there were also quite a few sound problems as well. In addition, there were not enough seats in comparison to the large crowd of fans who had shown up.

2NE1 has won a rookie award at TBS‘s ‘53rd Japan Record Awards‘!

On December 29th, Japanese media outlets reported that the girls had been awarded the rookie award at the ’53rd Japan Record Awards’. The girls arrived on the 28th for rehearsal and commented to reporters, “We’re glad to receive such an honorable award just three months into our Japanese debut. We’ll work hard every year in hopes of winning the Record Award.”

They continued, “We’ll be expressing the power of women in our stage performance.”

2NE1 will be sharing the honor with Japanese singers Ito Miyu, SUPER☆GiRLS, and fairies. KARA will also be attending the awards ceremony on December 30th.

Fairies won the Super rookie award which 2ne1 and the rest competed for. Nevertheless, 2ne1 got a rookie award.

‘Model idols’ Nine Muses have escaped the cold weather gripping Korea at the moment for the warmth in Abu Dhabi.

On December 29th, 2nd* maknae Hyemi wrote on her Twitter, “The weather’s so cold lately, it’s making me miss the warm weather of Abu Dhabi. There’s only there days left in the year 2011. Just like how we worked hard this year, let’s work even harder next year. Nine Muses will continue to promote actively, so please give us your support.”

Taken at a pool with an impressive backdrop, the girls show off their thin model bodies for the camera. Netizens commented, “Just like something out of a pictorial,” and “They don’t need kill heels, I’m so jealous!”

Lee Seung Gi was awarded the double crown at the ’2011 SBS Entertainment Daesang’.

The ’2011 SBS Entertainment Daesang’ took place on December 30th at 8:45pm at the SBS Public Hall in Deungchongdong, Seoul with MC’s Kim Yong Man, Kim Won Hee, and Shin Bong Sun.

At the awards ceremony, Lee Seung Gi was named the recipient of the ‘Best Award’ in the talk show category and ‘Netizen Top Popularity Award’.

Lee Seung Gi said at his win, “I am always grateful to always be with the good people around me. I thank the writer who tells the newbie MC that he’s doing well. I am feeling a lot as a hoobae watching Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Byung Man and other great variety sunbaes, so I ask that you lead me.”

Lee Seung Gi then went on to mention Kim Young Chul, Jung Joo Ri and other ‘Strong Heart’members thanking them and got around to also metioning Kang Ho Dong who has announced retirement back in September.

Lee Seung Gi elaborated, “Kang Ho Dong hyungnim who was always a force by my side. I always felt your strength so didn’t feel the load in my heart. But now, I really miss his cavalier laughter. I always miss him.”

Lee Seung Gi revealed, “I will work hard as Lee Seung Gi who works hard for the program as a variety entertainer.”

It was obvious that Lee Seung Gi’s achievement for the year 2011 was an amazing feat.

North Korea condemns South Korea, vows no policy changes

North Korea on Friday warned South Korean leaders and other “foolish politicians” that its behavior would not soften under the untested leadership of Kim Jong Eun, youngest son and heir of the late autocrat Kim Jong Il.

Pyongyang excoriated South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and accused his government of hoping to use Kim Jong Il’s recent death to spur “system change.”

“Taking this opportunity,” North Korea said, “we solemnly declare with confidence that the south Korean puppets and foolish politicians around the world should not expect any change from the DPRK,” or Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

With its first formal policy message since the elevation of Kim Jong Eun as supreme leader, North Korea indicated that it will navigate this latest transition by relying on a familiar strategy, using outside enemies to keep its people united.
