SM releases profile photos & teaser of EXO’s first member, KAI

After releasing EXO‘s very first member teaser earlier today, SM Entertainment has followed up by sharing KAI,’s handsome profile shots.

Split into two teams, EXO-K and EXO-M, the group is expected to make their debuts in both Korea and China with the same song on the same day. Their name ‘EXO’ is taken from ‘EXOPLANET’, which the group has taken to express themselves as a star from another planet. As previously explained, ‘K’ and ‘M’ stand for Korean and Mandarin.

KAI is a 17 year old boy who stands at 182 cm, and is described to have a broad range of dancing skills from ballet, jazz, hip hop, popping, and locking. There’s no word yet on which group he’ll belong to.

Lee Seung Gi and 1N2D members win KBS Entertainment Daesang

The ’1 Night 2 Days’ team (Lee Seung Gi, Uhm Tae Woong, Lee Soo Geun, Eun JI Won, and Kim Jong Min) received KBS Daesang beating out other nominees.

At the ’2011 KBS Entertainment Daesang’ ceremony on December 24th, the ’1 Night 2 Days’ team won the well-deserved Daesang.

Despite the fact that Kang Ho Dong had announced retirement back in September leaving the rest of the members to carry ’1 Night 2 Days’, they have done a tremendous job of keeping the show one of the hottest shows ever.

The multi-talented yet modest Lee Seung Gi said, “Thank very much. When I heard that I was a nominee, I thought it wasn’t my place to be there. I worried that it would be not be right to the sunbaes who have come with me. I will happily accept it since the entire ’1 Night 2 Days’ team is receiving it together. I will think of it as an award from the viewers.”

Eun Ji Won shared, “I thank the viewers who made it possible for the program to be for 5 years. Thank you Kang Ho Dong hyungnim who was the biggest influence.” Lee Soo Geun said, “I want to share the award with my friend Byung Man. Kang Ho Dong hyungnim, I’ll come visit with the award.”

Originally KBS had named Kim Byung Man of ‘Gag Concert’, Shin Dong Yub of ‘Hello’, Yoo Jae Suk of ‘Happy Together Season 3′, Lee Kyung Kyu of ‘Qualifications of Men’, and Lee Seung Gi of ’1 Night 2 Days’ as nominees but the honor went instead to the entire team of ’1 Night 2 Days’.

Lee Ki Woo speaks about suicide

'Flower Boy Ramyun Shop‘ actor Lee Ki Woo was the next star to be interviewed on the topic of suicide for a suicide prevention campaign led by major Korean media outlets like TV Report and BNT News.

Titled ’A Beautiful Korea Living Together‘, the campaign aims to fill Korean society with love and hope, and has brought together the support of top stars to speak on the issue in hopes of bringing more attention to the cause.

The city of Seoul met with a perfect Christmas snowfall, and Super Junior‘s Yesung, Siwon, and Kyuhyun took the opportunity to enjoy the fresh outdoors.

Taeyeon and Sunny drop by Tiffany’s ‘Fame’ show

SNSD‘s Taeyeon and Sunny recently showed their support for Tiffany‘s musical theatre venture.

An online community board shared a photo of the three girls alongside violinist KoN, Tiffany’s castmate in the musical’Fame‘. Both Sunny and Taeyeon are seen wearing minimal to no make up, and all three girls whipped out cute poses for the camera.

Netizens commented, “What a lucky male star,” “So jealous, he gets to pose with SNSD on either side of him,” “I hope Tiffany’s musical does well,” “The tiny members are so cute!” and “I love seeing them smile.”

Tiffany is currently playing the role of ‘Carmen Diaz’ in the musical.

Moving on from Tablo, “Whatbecomes” of TaJinYo marks his next victim!

Whatbecomes, the person behind the ‘We Want the Truth from Tablo (TaJinYo)’ internet café, has made it his mission to disturb even more people, by expanding his target to singer Insooni′s daughter.

The netizen was previously the source behind rumors that Tablo hadn′t graduated from Stanford University, and is the most visible internet villain in Seoul.

In another Tajinyo café recently set up on a portal site, he raised a question on Insooni’s daughter, Park Se In’s school credentials.

He posted, “It doesn’t make sense she was admitted to a college in the States because she graduated from a international high school in Seongnam, which can’t issue a diploma.”

He continued, “Normally, you receive a letter of acceptance by mail in May. But it’s weird she got a letter of acceptance via email in December.”

Earlier, a rep from Insooni’s agency stated on December 10, “Insooni’s daughter Park Se Yeon who is attending Seoul International High School received a letter of acceptance from Stanford University. She will be majoring in sociology and communication.”

Upon hearing the news, Whatbecomes cast doubt on the statement.

“She should’ve made public her admittance by revealing her high school report card and certificate from Stanford University, but she’s never done that.”

For the record, it′s completely possible for Insooni′s daughter to have been accepted into Stanford in December. Students are able to apply for early decision to a school of their choice, and usually hear back in December, via both email and letter.

His targets have been expanded from Tablo last year to Park Jung Hyun in August and now to Park Se In.

Whatbecomes started to spread malicious rumors again, but there is no way to deter him.

On the issue, a rep from Tablo’s agency said, “Even though we used every means including showing an assortment of certificates and so on, he just keeps churning out ungrounded rumors.” The rep continued, “We proved and proved, but it was pointless and things keep coming back.”

The naysayers who spread unfounded rumors and fuel ungrounded suspicion get innocent people in big trouble. But they keep getting away with it because there is no punishment for such acts. That’s why people started raising their voice again over the necessity of strong deterrence and penalty.
