Girl group T-ara shared a heart-warming team picture from the ‘Inkigayo‘ waiting room!

On July 10th, Hyomin tweeted, “We look like idiots. Let’s not get nervous. Fighting to our meeting. Let’s drink and then start. Let’s have our regular get-together after our stage.”

The members are seen in the waiting room with cheerful expressions. Netizens chuckled over the photos, particularly since T-ara’s feel-good gathering and their retro outfits fit so perfectly together.

They said, “This is a picture release of T-ara’s waiting room” and “I want to be included too.”

Uee Has a Killer Schedule

With a drama, group promotions, CF activities, and a Japanese debut coming up, After School’s Uee is looking at one busy schedule.

Uee was recently cast as the leading role for KBS’s upcoming drama, ‘Ojakgyo Brothers‘, and is currently in the midst of filming. Because it’s a weekend drama, the filming schedule isn’t as tight as other dramas, but adding After School’s schedule on top of that definitely makes up for the difference.

As previously reported, After School will be promoting as two units this month. The girls are also preparing for a showcase on July 17th, which will be followed by the release of their official Japanese debut single on August 17th.

They also signed on as models for cosmetics brand “The Saem“, for which they must attend fan signings and various other events as a part of their endorsement duties.

Her professional obligations aside, Uee’s been receiving acting lessons and holding script rehearsals whenever time permits.  A representative of Pledis explained, “Uee has always been athletic so she has a lot of stamina.  She exercises whenever she has spare time in order to manage herself.  She’s also been on a diet and has a slim new body to show off.”

We’re glad that she’s in high demand, but let’s hope she doesn’t overdo it!

All-Star K-Pop Line Up to Visit Australia

Australia is the next continent to get an all-star K-Pop visit.  Ten of K-Pop’s most popular idol groups will participate in the “K-Pop Music Fest,” to be held at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney on Saturday, November 12^th.

2AM, 4Minute, BEAST, CN Blue, DBSK, Kara, missA, Secret, SHINee and SNSD are slated to perform for their fans Down Under, as announced by Sydney-and-Melbourne-based media outlet SBS Pop Asia.  The event is in cooperation with JK Entertainment and will be broadcast on Korean TV channel MBC.

On Soompi earlier reported the booming popularity of K-Pop in the different continents, including its surge in South America.  Just the past month, idol groups under the management of SM Entertainment staged a two-night successful SMTOWN World Tour Live in Paris.  In August, Incheon will play host to a superstar gathering intended to boost tourism from Japan.  This upcoming event in Australia is a testament to K-Pop’s standing in the growth of Hallyu worldwide.

The Hwamyeong Riverside Park in Busan is submerged Sunday following heavy rains in the southern parts of the country. With the rain front moving northward, torrential rains of more than 250 millimeters are expected to hit the central region of the peninsula today

Heavy rains pounded the southern parts of the country over the weekend, killing 10 people and leaving four missing over the last three days, officials from the disaster control center said Sunday.

The victims included a 68-year-old woman and two of her grandchildren when a landslide destroyed her home Saturday in Miryang, South Gyeongsang Province, according to the Korean National Emergency Management Agency.

Park Se-eun, the 2007 winner of the Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland, is a rising star in Korean ballet. Laureate of several major international competitions, the 22-year-old is set to become the first Korean ballerina to join the prestigious Paris Opera Ballet

A young Korean ballerina has been accepted by one of the world’s finest ballet companies based in Paris.

Park Se-eun, the 2007 winner of the prestigious Prix de Lausanne ballet competition in Switzerland, passed an audition at the Paris Opera Ballet held last week.

The 22-year-old was one of three among 111 to be chosen from the competitive selection process, according to the Korea National University of Arts, Saturday.

It’s been less than a week since 4minute’s HyunA dropped her solo music video for “Bubble Pop!“, but it’s already accumulated an astounding 5.5 million views on YouTube!

The video boasted every look and image concept imaginable for an idol – sporty, sultry, sexy, and cute, whatever your personal taste, HyunA rocked it all for “Bubble Pop!”. The results were explosive, as viewers from around the globe chattered about how they couldn’t get enough of HyunA’s new video.

The video hasn’t only been explosive within the K-Pop fandom though, as American pop blogs have also been raving about it, adding onto its viral popularity. HyunA’s definitely bringing more awareness to K-Pop on a global level, and this MV definitely highlights all the things we love about K-pop.

Four Korean pop songs made Thailand's top 20 chart last year, and six Korean pop music concerts were held in that country.

In Japan, regional broadcasters, satellite and cable TV stations all air Korean dramas regularly.

Evolution of 'Korean Wave' by country

In Japan, China and Thailand, hallyu, or the "Korean Wave," is no longer the exclusive property of cult fans but is instead growing popular among a broader market. Related products also sell well.

Simply put, the Korean Wave has reached a mature stage in these countries. The Korea Trade-Promotion Agency, or KOTRA, announced the results of a survey Sunday after its overseas Korean Business Centers in 94 regions studied Korean Wave trends abroad.

Earlier today, CSJH subunit Dana & Sunday completed their first round of promotions for their comeback track “One More Chance” on SBS’s ’Inkigayo‘.

While backstage, Sunday snagged a picture with 2NE1’s Dara.

On July 10th, Sunday tweeted,

“Sandara unni is shy and nice just like how she appears to be ^^ I was shy too so I ran away to my waiting room. Next time, let’s at least say a word or two!!“

In the picture, Sunday is seen linking arms with Dara for a picture. Though Sunday is making a cute pose, Dara looks to be a bit nervous.
