GDragon voted #1 as the ‘overrated singer songwriter’

Group Big Bang leader GDragon has been voted #1 by netizens as the ‘Overrated singer songwriter’.
Community site DCInside did a poll on the question “Which singer songwrite do you think is overrated?” from 22nd to 29th September. And GDragon was given 8133 (52.6%) votes out of 15,467 votes, coming in at #1.
GDragon has been writing many songs since he was in Big Bang like ‘Lies’, ‘Last Farewell’ etc. But he was under plagiarism accusations with the release of his solo debut song ‘Heartbreaker’ released last month. And that was why he was voted in #1 on the survey.

Big Bang Surprise Guesting On SBS Chuseok Idol SP (performance with 2NE1)

Big Bang has been working hard on their Japan promotions as well as solo projects and are planning to return to the Korean scene on T.V! Sadly, not with a new album.

The five-member group will come back as part of the upcoming Chuseok special on SBS. This is a surprise appearance since they were not supposed to have Korean activities for most of 2009.

As many already knew, G-Dragon and 2NE1 performed on a special stage for the highly anticipated Idol Big Show, an episode to be revealed on October 3rd. This is a performance unlike any you have seen before! Are you excited?

As this is a pre-recorded performance, it has been reported that G-Dragon performed "Breathe", "Hello" with Dara, and "1 Year Station". Then 2NE1 followed up with "Fire" drum music/rhythmic version as well as "Let's Go Party" from their 1st Mini Album. "Let's Go Party" has not been performed live yet so that's definitely something to look forward to.

Then the surprise arrival of Big Bang had many fans shocked, because no one had any idea they were coming. They were there to support their fellow YG Family members, 2NE1 and their brother G-Dragon. The group sang "Last Farewell" with 2NE1 as well as their song, "How Gee". A freestyle dance battle with 2NE1 also occurred... Now that I'm looking forward to. Minzy and Taeyang? You know it's gonna be hot.

Bad men abound in Penthouse Elephant

Penthouse Elephant [펜트하우스 코끼리] is a new movie that is pushing the provocative/sexy angle and which is described on these freshly released posters as exploring “The secret private lives of bad men.”

Those three leading men are played by Jang Hyuk (Tazza), Jo Dong-hyuk (Likable or Not), and Lee Sang-woo (First Wives Club), each of whom has his own poster with its own tagline. For instance, Jang Hyuk’s poster (first poster under cut) reads, “Possession, that dangerous love.” Jo Dong-hyuk (second poster) poses with another scantily clad woman with the tagline reading, “Addiction, that unshakable temptation.” And last is Lee Sang-woo, whose tagline reads, “Secret, that improper moment.”

The cast seems pretty decent, but from the description, all I can discern is that this seems like a movie designed to be provocative for the sake of being provocative. That is to say: I’m not sure what this film brings to the table that makes it new or interesting, aside from a lot of racy scenes between its bed-swapping partners.

For example, Lee Min-jung (Smile) plays Jang Hyuk’s wife, but her character happens to share a bathtub love scene with Lee Sang-woo, her husband’s friend. Meanwhile, Hwang Woo-seul-hye, who played a calm kindergarten teacher in Crush and Blush, shares a bed scene with Jang Hyuk, while Jeon Sae-hong (Baby and Me) carries on with the playboy plastic surgeon played by Jo Dong-hyuk. The film also includes a nude scene of deceased Boys Before Flowers actress Jang Ja-yeon.

Are you confused by all the intersecting lovelines? I can’t say this movie grabs my interest — if you’re going to be all about love and sex, there are ways to take a more creative approach, such as with the omnibus feature Ogamdo (which also happens to star Jang Hyuk).

Brown Eyed Girls at Circle Nightclub! (Interview)

The absolutely stunning Brown Eyed Girls lit up Circle Nightclub in New York City on September 25th, 2009! Of course, allkpop was there to cover it and we had the amazing opportunity to interview Narsha, Ga-In, Jea, and Miryo on their very first trip to NYC!

As expected, these girls were smoking hot and charismatic. The foursome arrived at Circle Nightclub around 12:30AM and fanboys were just awed by their beauty, me being the leader of the pack, as maknae Ga-in completely blew me away. Photos do not do these girls justice, as any eyewitnesses would no doubt agree.

Harisu looks like a completely different person

Photos of Korean trans gender celebrity Harisu, who is currently staying in China, looking prettier have been revealed through her appearance for a recent official event.

With that, it was revealed that her prettier face is a result of the many years of plastic surgeries she went through.

Harisu was seen with shoulder-length hair at an event in ShangHai on 29th September. And it was revealed that Harisu looked like a different person from the event poster which she was featured in.

A representative said, “The poster was taken 5~6 years back, and through the many years, she had looked different due to the results of plastic surgeries she undergone. She is very pleased with the healthier and more matured looks she has now.”

But there were some suspicion after Harisu was spotted constantly trying to hide her left face with her hand. It was explained that, “She has just extracted some teeth from the side of the face, and she has been having toothache for days.”

A Chinese media quoted Harisu in a recent interview about her marriage, “I’m enjoying marriage with husband Mickey. Rumours about my husband going on board a 3billion KRW submarine are false, the truth is me and my husband we love each other, just that my husband has been busy these days due to work and he could not come today.”

She also added, “We are planning on opening an orphanage. The 2 of us love all children, we want to help children who needs love and attention, hence we decided to open up a orphanage.”

T-ARA's and Supernova's 'Time To Love (TTL)' sweeps #1 position on online charts

It looks like T-ara's and Supernova's 'TTL' is sweeping K-pop online charts by storm.

The group project's (T-ara and Supernova) latest song has been a big hit ever since being released back in September 14 2009. The 2 groups are currently actively promoting the song.

Today 'TTL' remains No.1 on popular sites such as Mnet.com, CYWORLD BGM (music charts and ringtone charts) and other major mobile ranking sites which are popular.

Currently the members promoting the song are Soyeon, Eunjung, Hyomin and Jiyeon (from T-ara) and Jihyuk, Kwangsu and Gunil (from Supernova). However, beginning from October, the song will be promoted by all 12 members from both groups.

The 12 members will be promoting an upgraded version of the song called 'TTL Listen.2' which will have a different style of rap, club mix, style, dance arrangement, vocal positions, choereography, clothing etc. Everything will be turn 180 degrees.

The 12 members will first perform together as one at this year's Dream Concert 2009 on 10th October 2009.

Park Jin-young, president of JYP Entertainment, made an official statement on Sept. 17 to explain his stance regarding Park Jae-beom, the former leader of the uber-popular boy band 2PM. The briefing was an inevitable measure in the face of the aggressive activism from 2PM fans.

It was the band’s loyal fans – who have printed advertisements in newspapers and are threatening to boycott 2PM-related products and items – that pushed him to make a reluctant speech over Jae-beom, who left the band after negative comments he made about Korea four years ago were made public.

New fantasy web series casts Seo Hyo-rim, SS501’s Kim Kyu-jong

Seo Hyo-rim (The World They Live In) and SS501 member Kim Kyu-jong have been cast to act together in something that has me curious — a “web toon drama” (a drama that is based on a manhwa) that mixes animation with live action.

The fantasy series is called SETI [세티], which stands for Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence, and is the latest work of writer Yoon Tae-ho, who is famous for his manhwa Ikki [이끼]. Seo Hyo-rim and Kim Kyu-jong play a couple who are a part of an alien-watch club, and the production will enter filming this week. The series will be released online every Tuesday and Friday beginning October 6, for a total of 16 episodes.

Interesting concept, if they can pull it off…!

"World Star" Rain / Bi recently did a pictorial / photo shoot for NYLON Magazine. In the photos it almost seems as if he's trying to be in MBLAQ too doing advertisements for ADIDAS because he's wearing a lot of ADIDAS gear. His new hairstyle is also reminiscent of that of fallen leader Jaebeom from 2PM. Jesus take the wheel, is extra Jaebeom talk really necessary?. I think he should keep this hairstyle opposed to the other hairstyles he recently sported, it looks much better on him.

We wanted to make things a bit easier this time so anyone who didn't get in last time will most likely get in now.

4minute dresses up for Chuseok; is cute

Girl group 4Minute shed their sexy and hot image and put on some cute hanboks to celebrate Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) with everyone.

Member Jiyoon said, "This is the first time I've worn a skirt since high school. Usually wearing a hanbok for Chuseok makes me feel awkward, but because these hanboks suit us so well, I feel good."

Usually Chuseok is a holiday you spend with your family, but 4Minute seems to be going against the trend.

"Chuseok is vacation time for us, but we decided to stick together over our break. We haven't seen our families in a while but during the holiday, we hope to be able to do all the fun activities that we couldn't do while we were busy with our group activities."

In the future, 4Minute will be continuing promotions for their number 1 song "Muzik," and a remix version of the song will be available soon.
