The 6th Asia Song Festival is finally upon us, and it is just as spectacular (hot - see Dara) as the ones preceding it in the previous years.

Although there were a few notable non-attendees, namely Super Junior's Kangin, and Big Bang's Daesung, the show was still nothing less than sensational. Although with such an impressive list of performers, it's hard to go wrong. Add to the fact that this event is free only serves to sweeten the deal.

It's great that the goal is to raise the competitiveness of Asian Music in the global market, but honestly, we're all here for the performances. It's unfortunate that the video of the broadcast hasn't aired yet (only wrap-up and press conferences) but here are some of the photos:

Lee Minho's Singapore Trip Delayed

Remember earlier where we said Lee Minho was coming to Singapore for Etude House ION Orchard outlet official opening? Well, Minho's trip to Singapore on 10th October has been delayed.

But the good news is that Lee Minho will still be in Singapore two weeks later instead, on 24th October for a 2D1N promotional trip. No further details were made available again but the new date will be ideal for those who couldn't find time earlier to chase him around Singapore and bad luck unfortunately for those who have already made plans earlier.

For those keen on first-hand updates on his trip, do visit Etude House Singapore on Facebook and become a fan.

For those who can't wait to see Lee Minho in Singapore, spend a minimum of $10 at any Etude House outlet (Plaza Singapura, ION Orchard) in Singapore to redeem a poster of him, whilst stocks last!

Baek Jiyoung, a singer who is actively spreading ‘My Ear’s Candy’ promotions with 2PM’s Taecyeon, conveyed an encouraging message and wistful heart to Jaebum who had withdrawn from 2PM due to the Korean criticism shock.

Baek Jiyoung revealed “Jaebum is accepting the mistake and is thoroughly regretting it. It’s upsetting to see people criticizing him from a view point of their hearts about one mistake caused through a historical misunderstanding when he was young. Looking at sincere and kind Taecyeon who I’m promoting with, it’s a worry if the spirited, professional and good image of the sincere leader Jaebum that lead them will be forgotten because of this case caused by a mistake.

Continuing “It hurts my heart and it is unfortunate to see the passions and efforts of a Hoobae (junior) singer that were accumulated for a long time collapse in one moment through a mistake. As a singer he has taken the decision whether he’ll continue his promotions so I would like it if those around him did not breaks his free will and his wings” she revealed with an unfortunate heart and request message.

Continuing, to Jaebum who is currently in Seattle “Jaebum-ah.. I hope that you win over this hardship for your jump to the second episode and I would like it if you make this chance as a turning point and an opportunity for you to add another wing. I would like it you aren’t faltered by the world’s words and that you have strength” she added as a warm cheer and encouragement.

This past 12th Baek Jiyoung sent 2PM fans an encouraging message and it caught eyes.

One netizen said to Baek Jiyoung about Baek Jiyoung and Taecyeon’s promotions of ‘My Ear’s Candy’ ‘Taecyeon-ie Oppa will be having a hard time so please give him lots of energy next to him’ to the fan who sent this message she sent a Note to that Minihompy with the reply of ‘I hope that everyone will cheer them on firmly so they can win this’ which became a big topic.

Tiffany, Absent on 'Music Core' as the MC Because of Her Health Condition

CNB News- SNSD Tiffany could not be on MBC 'Show! Music Core' on September 19th.

So Sooyoung and Seohyun took Tiffany's place on this week's 'Show! Music Core.' According to SNSD's company SM Entertainment, Tiffany is currently getting treatment for her throat at a center especially designed for singers, so she had to sit this one out.

A SM representative said that "Tiffany's throat has been bothering her, so she is getting treatment for it. Everything will be back to how it was before on the upcoming 27th."

Meanwhile, on that day's 'Show! Music Core' there were a lot of ballad singers' comeback stages. Park Hyoshin's 'After Love,' Tei's 'Venom,' and Lee Seunggi's 'Wedding Veil' and 'Let's Break Up' were all part of the comeback stages. Taegoon's 'Betrayed,' Baek Jiyoung's 'My Ear's Candy,' 4 Minute, Kara, etc. were some of the other performances.

Idol Group Fanclub at the Height of Their Opposition against the Agency.

A section of TVXQ's fanclub succeeded in presenting an effective case on matter of the current dispute between SM Entertainment and the group's three members. They have made use of newspaper advertisments criticize SM Entertainment and to expose "how unfair TVXQ's contract is", stating slogans such as "TVXQ are not monkeys."

In addition, they have already started a boycott against the company as well. TVXQ's fanclub "Cassiopeia" is refusing to purchase any albums, photobooks, DVDs, ringtones, and other merchandise issued by SM Entertainment as well as staying away from any branch off restaraunts owned by the company, stating that "Fans have been exploited with merchandise most focused towards the numbers that are sold rather than its quality as well as with numerous contests similar in nature."

2NE1 Gong MinJi worried about grandmother’s health

Group 2NE1 member Gong MinJi was seen tearing after knowing that her grandmother Madam Gong OkJin’s health is deteroriating.
Gong MinJi has received much shock to find out that her grandmother’s health has deteriorated much with 2 stroke attack and a car accident. And with that, she was seen very quiet and looking troubled before the girls’ performance on Asia Song Festival on 19th September.
YG Entertainment said, “When MinJi heard the news about her grandmother’s health, she had a shock. The other 2NE1 members are also comforting her.”
Friends and families have revealed that they worried that Gong MinJi will feel guilty of not being able to see her grandmother as often with her singing activities.
A family friend said, “Madam Gong OkJin have loved to see Gong MinJi perform on stage more than anyone else from before MinJi debuted. With that this becomes more of a burden to MinJi. There are plans for MinJi to go visit her grandmother and take care of her after her minialbum activities end.
Gong MinJi has gained interests before her debut as the grand-daughter of Gong OkJin who is famous for her ‘transformation dance’. Gong MinJi also mentioned about her grandmother when she debuted, pointing out that her grandmother has given her advice about her performances on stage.

Yep, we as drama-lovers tend to have a love-hate (mostly hate, I think) relationship with drama extensions and, even worse, unexpected cuts. Even a good drama can be ruined in the end by unnecessary extensions — a long-running epic series may suffer less from adding episodes than a short drama whose story was never meant to go beyond 16 or 20 installments. I know that this trend stems from that pernicious habit of broadcast stations’ knee-jerk reactions to ratings, but as much as we hate that, I think we all kind of understand why a station places so much importance on ratings.
