Apparently there are new ways to “Finding The Secret of Hit Song”

“What they have is a database of hit songs, and when you put a song into the system, it analyzes its patterns and compares them to that of the hit songs. It pretty much determines if a song will do well on prior opinion.”

Ramyun is ramen?

Singer/producer JYP gets caught up in a scandal for using a Japanese notation.

JYP currently uploaded a picture of himself and the Wonder Girls eating ramen from a pot through Twitter. The problem was in the description. He wrote "On our way back to NY. One last Ramen. I ate more Ramen during this tour than I did in my entire life!"

The netizens have a problem with how he worded '라멘(Ramen)'. Korea has copyrighted the name 라면(Ramyun), which is different from the Japanese word. Netizens said "the correct way of wording 라면(Ramyun) in our country is 'Ramyun' or 'Korean noodle'" Jung Woo Sung has also received strong criticism for writing '김치(kimchi)' as '기무치(kimuchi)' on a recent Japanese show.

f(x) on KBS Sukira in just 3 days into debut



Group f(x) was on KBS Cool FM ‘Sukira’ on 7th September.
The group debuted last weekend and is already on radio show programmes just 3 days into debut meeting their seonbae Super Junior. It was also known that KangIn and HeeChul were present at the group’s showcase on 2nd September.
In one of their live performanes, member Luna gives a powerful rendition of ‘I have Nothing’.

2PM Jaebum has been receiving much critism for his past mistakes on the myspace incidents.

After releasing an official public apology (2PM Jaebum and JYPE themselves), issues of 2PM's schedules and broadcasts have become an exclusive topic.

On the 5th, Jaebum had said under this apology on the official 2PM Fancafe that "I am feeling very guilty and sorry for my mistakes. And I regret saying any of those things", but aside from the time off he had been given, he stood on stage for the Incheon Han-ryu Concert.

Park Jinyoung, representative of JYP Entertainment, has spoken up about Jaebum's future activities with 2PM. "Although, we feel very guilty and sorry for all the people who have been disappointed by Park Jaebum's past mistakes, I will not be taking him out of the group. Many people have been suggesting ideas of banning Park Jaebum out of 2PM, but that will never happen. We believe that he has done something wrong, but as a whole, we do not think it is enough to be taking his dreams and goals away from him. This was not a decision made by only the JYPE staff, but it was something all of the fellow 2PM members have agreed to."

On the other hand, netizens who have been observing 2PM Park Jaebum's issues have been wondering if he will become the "2nd Yoo Seung Jun". Park Jinyoung has also commented in an interview that "He will not be the next Yoo Seungjun, for he will not be taken away from us."

Meanwhile, the issues for 2PM Jaebum's Myspace incidents have slowly been dying down after netizens have seemingly come down to 'attacking' Big Bang's G-Dragon and his plagiarisms for his solo comeback.

KARA Han SeungYeon gets treated with prank camera

KARA’s mascot Han SeunGyeon was the object of a secret camera filmed last August 30, which brought the idol star to tears.

Filmed on the same day as when KARA won the Mutizen for Wanna at Inkigayo, everyone was in a festive mood, celebrating their number one win. However, the mood quickly changed as the members and staff proceeded in fooling Seungyeon for the secret camera.

The pranks included making SeungYeon take the lie detector test, and producing a different answer even though she answered honestly, the members and interviewers not minding her during the interview, and for the last prank, a policeman stopped their vehicle for alleged drunk driving.
It is at this police station that SeungYeon gets to meet her old professor, and where she sheds tears of relief.

Do you remember when a baby named Kyung San picked SNSD's Tiffany when he first met them in the show, "Hello Baby" ? Well, the sexy Jessica has challenged her fellow group mate in the "Love Contest" to see who the baby chooses to crawl to between them.

In the show, Jessica and Tiffany were clapping to get the baby to crawl to them. However, clapping proved to be very useless in grasping the baby's attention. So Jessica used her secret weapon: MUSIC! Jessica began singing Tiffany's popular track from the Ja Myung Go OST "By Myself", which took her by surprise. Tiffany quickly retaliated by singing "Can You Hear Me?" from the popular Beethoven Virus OST. At this point, the baby began to make its move.

Will the baby choose to crawl to Jessica? Or will the baby return to Tiffany? Well, you'll have to stay tuned for the next episode which will air on the 8th!

On the premium event held today for “Boys over Flowers” drama promo at Yokohama National University Hall, Goo Hye Sun brought a cool song performance and also have a good dialogue session on the subject between Korean artistes and Japanese fans. Antis Create a Suicide Petition for 2PM’s Jaebeom

It has recently been revealed that 2PM's leader Jaebum will no longer be on Nodaji and will stop all activities until his Myspace controversy clears. But apparently, that wasn't enough for angry netizens. Some antis wanted him to quit show biz altogether, some wanted him out of 2PM, and then there are those antis just wanted him to disappear...

...And thus, a petition titled "Jaebum Should Commit Suicide" was created on Agora, one of Daum's portal sites . Over 3000 people have signed this petition, leaving comments such as "Go back to America", "I'm disgusted by you", and "Jaebum will be the next Yoo Seung-joon" before it was taken down on September 7, around 4PM (Korean time).

But things seem to be looking up, because another petition entitled "Please Forgive Our Jaebum Just This Once" on Agora replaced the other hate-filled one and has gained over 6,000 signatures in two days.

All I can say is, I truly hope that things work out for Jaebum. He even released a heartfelt apology to the public about this controversy. This kind of hatred is too bitter and no one deserves it.

Turns out all you antis were right after all!

For the 10th Anniversary episode of "Gag Concert" which saw many special guest appearances, SNSD came on as guests for the 'No Voice' corner.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the show, 'No Voice' is a segment of the show where (normally) three guys go on and sing. Two of the three are decent while the third is completely off key.

So combine that concept with 9 (well, 8. Kid leader Taeyeon couldn't make it for the recording because of ChinChin Radio) beautiful women and what do you get?

Well... I'm not sure what to make of it, but the fans ate it up! The girls performed "Genie" first, and the crowd loved it so much they shouted for an encore. The girls answered with a performance of "Girl's Generation".

Group f(x) gets attention outside Korea, ‘the making of an Asian star’

Newcomer f(x) has been receiving overwhelming responses from music fans outside Korea.

After news went out about this new SM Asian pop dance group f(x)’s debut, their showcase, MV and debut stages information has been reported on various Asian media.

Especially for China’s largest portal site Sina (sina.com) has reported about f(x)’s debut stage as “The 5 members have shown their charms through their performances and live stage. We are seeing a change in the domination of the girlgroups.”

While for PingBook (Pingbook.com) in Thailand, it was reported, “There is much attention focused on group f(x), it consists of different international members like Amber, and much anticipation is for the group’s Asian promotions.”

Other than that, the group has also been reported by other Asian media portals like SoHu(sohu.com) and WangYi Entertainment (网易娱乐) in China; Sanook (sanook.com) in Thailand and JaeKyung Newspaper in HongKong.

On September 8th 11:59PM, Jaebum wrote on his fancafe "Hello, I'm 2PM's JaeBum. I'm sorry for giving you my last greeting through this letter. I think it will be hard for me to see you all on stage because of my sorry heart. I'm really sorry to everyone, and I'm even more sorry to the fans who have shown me love.
From today, I will leave 2PM.
2PM boys, I'm really sorry to the boys and I'm sorry I couldn't be strong as a leader and a hyung and have to leave like this.
However, I hope you will be more cool and charming.
Again, I'm sorry."

Jaebum said "I am sorry to everyone, especially to the fans who loved me and stuck by me. From today I will break away from 2PM"

JAebum finally wrote "I am very sorry to the 2PM guys and to others that I couldn't be a good enough leader and hyung. I apologize again."

JYP Entertainment also confirmed through a phone interview with Newsen that the departure of Jaebum from 2PM is indeed true.

Daum Gets Most Complaints for Offensive Posts

Daum received the most complaints among large Korea Internet portals over postings including defamatory comments and obscene material. Some 10,717 complaints against Daum were filed with the Korea Communications Standards Commission from Feb. 29, 2008 to July 31, 2009.

The figure comes from a report submitted by the commission to independent lawmaker Song Hun-suk, a member of the National Assembly's Culture, Sports, Tourism, Broadcasting and Communications Committee.

Complaints against Daum accounted for 57 percent of all 18,940 complaints filed against the seven largest portal sites -- Naver, Daum, Nate, Cyworld, Yahoo Korea, Paran, and Empas.

The Japanese Woman Behind K-Pop Bands' Moves

Rino Nakasone

Behind the powerful performance and dance skills of many manufactured K-pop bands, there is a woman: Rino Nakasone, a Japanese dancer and choreographer. She is best known for choreographing several songs of popular Korean music bands SHINee and Girls' Generation but also recently choreographed one of songs of SM Entertainment's new girl group f(x).

Nakasone was first recognized by Korean music fans in June 2008, when she gave SHINee dancing lessons for their debut with "Replay." At the time, she had been a backup dancer for the Harajuku Girls and featured in stage shows and music videos for Gwen Stefani in the States, earning some attention for her brilliant performance.
