Black artists make all kinds of music.

This is very true, but they're pioneers of hip-hop/soul/R&B and so those kinds of music have come to be associated with them. I don't think it limits them to only doing said kinds of music, nor does it place a monopoly on those genres. I think in this case the people were just lazy and wanted to mention rab/hip-hop/soul/R&B/etc in one.

I guess I think it's okay because I lived next to this black family for a few years, and was friends with their son. This was back when Korean hip-hop started to really gain recognition (like 2000? It was Jinusean/Drunken Tiger/etc) and I remember my friend was like, "I didn't know Asian people can do black people music." XD I realize one person =/= entire race, but yeah.
