Changmin (21) is a member who is in charge of “tight” talks in TV program. The youngest member in group, yet the person who takes care the solidness of group (collects important details).

The manager said, “When the other members’ opinion are disjointed, Changmin is the one who unites all the pieces. To take a baseball term… he’s the ‘pinch’.”

Changmin loves to watch sports, in elementary school, he had a dream to be a sports reporter. Even until now, he’s still taking sometime to check on news about baseball and soccer.

When he’s asked about Yakult’s team Lim Chang-Yong, he answered a lot about him, “I know much, right?” with smile.

“To be called as the “pinch” of the team, it’s delightful, however I guess all members also acts like that.” he said shyly.

Earlier this month, it was reported that SBS and the famous Hong Sisters, Hong Jung Eun & Hong Mi Ran, were producing an idol drama. Looks like the main male lead has been found and it's kind of a surprise.

Actor Jang Geun Suk will be returning to the small screen for SBS drama You’re Beautiful, a year after wrapping up filming for his MBC drama Beethoven Virus as the second male lead. After rejecting the chance be in Boys Over Flowers, Jang Geunsuk has now got a second chance to star in an idol drama. You’re Beautiful is set for broadcast in October after Swallow The Sun as a Wed-Thurs drama and faces the Yunho-led soccer drama plus Lee Byung Hun's IRIS.

You’re Beautiful is a drama that revolves around the life of the members in an idol group in their 10s. The drama will follow the love interests and hardships of these idols. It will focus mainly on Jang Geun Suk as a boy from the countryside and how he becomes an idol group member. With the main lead settled, fans are now curious to see who will be paired up with him and the rest of the cast members.

Already this year alone, Gu Hye-sun has been busy as an actress (Boys Before Flowers), writer (Tango), artist (also called Tango), and director (The Madonna). Now she’s putting on yet another hat as she begins working on recording her own album, which she hopes to put out by fall.

Gu Hye-sun is immersing herself in the work of putting together a new-age album, which includes the efforts of some of her fellow YG musicians (Song Baek-kyung, Oh Jin-hwan) as well as Tablo. She had initially wanted to put out the album in the first half of the year, but plans were pushed back due to her art show.

A rep from her side explained that the album will likely contain some songs featuring piano that Gu has written, as well as others that she wrote lyrics to and will sing herself.

I was wondering why Gu Hye-sun seems to inspire such a heated response from both extremes, and I don’t think it’s because she’s merely trying new things. Rather, it’s that she’s flitting from one thing to another the moment one is done. All of her projects have become famous because of her fame as an actress, not because of her work itself, and that makes the quality of work irrelevant to its success. (I’m not saying it’s bad; I’m saying it’s not a factor in its fame.) Then, the moment it’s done, she’s off to the next thing. If she spent more time with each interest, she might seem less of a dilettante and gain more credibility as Artist Gu Hye-sun, Novelist Gu Hye-sun, and so on.

With Hollywood remakes planned for Park Chan-wook’s Cannes prizewinner Oldboy (2003) and the follow-up film Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (2005), I suppose it should be no surprise that the precursor to those two, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, is also getting the remake treatment.

Film producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura came to Seoul to promote the release of the action flick GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and said in a press conference on the 29th that they are currently in talks with CJ Entertainment over remake plans for Mr. Vengeance. As they are still in planning stages, they have not yet fixed on a director or actors. He went on to praise the visual aesthetics of Korean films, singling out Taegukgi as a particularly noteworthy achievement.

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance was released in 2002 and stars Song Kang-ho, Shin Ha-kyun, and Bae Doo-na. It’s the first in what is called Park’s “Vengeance Trilogy” and had a short, limited U.S. theatrical run in 2005.

Given the high profile of the other two Park Chan-wook remake participants — Steven Spielberg, Will Smith, Charlize Theron — one wonders what kinds of names may end up attached to this one.

Yang Hyun Seok of YG Entertainment, which recently debuted a new 4-member female group 2NE1, has revealed that the member in the group he most anticipated and expected to make it big is youngest member Gong MinJi.

Gong MinJi is born in 1994 and is currently at a tender age of 15 years old, and is the granddaughter of Korean cultural dancer Gong OkJin. And recently she has caused a topic after giving up on high school to focus on 2NE1’s activities.
Yang HyunSeok said in a recent interview, “Gong MinJi has been training under me since elementary school period. She is a kid who is born while I was doing ‘Dreaming of a BalHae’ as Seo Taiji and Boys.”

“When I look at Gong MinJi, I think about what I was doing when I was at that age. She danced really well just like her grandmother. She is the member who possessed infinite possibilities.”

Naked News, an online pay-TV channel featuring topless anchorwomen, has collapsed a month after its sensational debut in Korea.

Both its headquarters in Yeoksam-dong, southern Seoul, and its Web site, www.nakednews.co.kr, have been shut down.

"From July 31, we suspend all services," a posting read on its homepage. "We are going to pay back subscription fees to all of our customers."

Actress Hwang Shin-hye is to return to the entertainment scene in a new KBS drama after a five-year hiatus.

In her new role, she will play a woman who goes to study abroad after losing her first love to a friend. When she returns, transformed into a figure of power and beauty, trouble begins to stir. A fierce battle ensues between Hwang and her friend, played by Oh Yeon-soo, over their love interest, played by Lee Jae-hwang.

Hwang has not been seen acting in five years, since the MBC Drama “Match Made in Heaven.” The 46-year-old actress will make her first appearance since 2004 on Sept. 14.

A movie, "Haeundae" looks set to reach the 3 million ticket mark just nine or 10 days since its release, according to news reports.

According to the Korean Film Council, "Haeundae," released on July 22, attracted more than 290,000 viewers on July 29 nationwide, with total attendance close to 2.88 million so far.

The reports said the movie would hit the 3 million ticket mark on Thursday or Friday. The record would be the quickest among Korean films released this year, while "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," reached the same mark in six days.

The official North Korean broadcaster on Wednesday claimed the majority of South Koreans "live in extremely wretched conditions." North Korean Central Television aired a 10-minute patchwork of edited South Korean TV clips about the difficult living conditions of the underprivileged in South Korea to illustrate the claim.

The program titled "South Korea in Crisis, Wretched Livelihood of the People," had been edited together from clips of MBC, KBS, SBS and YTN about homeless people, unemployment, redevelopment, a disastrous clash between protesters and police in Yongsan on Jan. 20, 2009, abandoned elderly people, and serial killings.

On 28th July, Lenka held a mini showcase in Seoul, COEX Samsung-dong.

Coming back with hit song ‘Indian Boy’, it has been known that MC Mong has put in much effort for his stage costumes.

He has personally went down to buy the stage costumes and picked the accessories to go with them. His company said, “MC Mong and his stylist have personally selected the stage costumes for his performances. He has spent over 30 million KRW on his own and also the dance team’s stage costumes.”

“On every performance, he has worn accessories to go with his stage costumes flown in from overseas. With this we can see MC Mong’s enthusiasm for his stage and concept.”

Not only so, it has been known that he has also personally helped out with the choreography to his ‘Indian Boy’ performance.

MC Mong, “Even though I go on TV much, performing on this stage I am very much more nervous. The reason being that this is the first album that I have worked on personally and put in much effort for.”

Meanwhile, MC Mong continues to promote the title song ‘Indian Boy’ off his comeback 5th album, which is currently flying off various online music charts.

1. DBSK's 3 members are putting lawsuit to FIX and REARRANGE the contract. it does NOT mean they are breaking up.

2. Dbsk is not in the same situation as their sunbaes were. HOT and SES

3.Sm.Ent will in the end have to listen to DBSK. Reason? it's by a fan who is a lawyer (cassie). --> IF DBSK was to come out of SM ent to move to a different company, the huge hit SM.ent will face from AVEX is beyond imaginable. because AVEX and SM are linked. IF DBSk get's out of Sm. it means they will end contract with AVEX as well. Dbsk is literally making huge money for AVEx if not all of it from their fan base which hit like 120,300 well that's the last ticket number the newest bigeast fan got (Ameblo japan site), concert, goods. DBsk has the biggest number of fanclub members in avex. The money flowing in through avex and dbsk's popularity in japan cannot be ignored. avex will be pissed at sm. so will the commercial deals that dbsk has in japan (2) will be lost. Avex deals with dbsk's commercials. if dbsk breaks with sm. they break with avex. avex lose money. avex will also have to deal with lawsuit with the two commercial companies. and domino breaks from there. so SMENT will in the end have to negotiate to fix the contract with dbsk. thats what DBSK wants. it happened to SMAP as well back in the days. these aren't new. it's just getting a bigger media attention because its DBSK.

DBSK KNOWS THIS. They are the only idol group out there that has this much power to do this. that's why they are using the chance to fix their contracts "slave contracts" they will succeed obviously. It's so obvious because of the domino affect with the 2 linked companies. DBSk is going to help change slave contracts in korea with all idols. Another history. like always they are the first sunbaes. you guys have to trust them. It's NOT a big deal. It's NOT them breaking up. Eugene Park is a well-known electric violinist known for his passionate and charismatic performances. He is U.S-born, and entered the highly prestigious Julliard School at the age of 8. Since then, he has been noted as one of the best violinists of the decade and even performed at the Super Bowl in the 1990s. He was invited to play at Michael Jackson's concert in Seoul, and even played for the Presidential Inauguration in 1999. In 1998, he went to Korea, where he was accepted as a national hero and the pride of Koreans. However, people have been noticing a dramatic change in his physical appearance and the quality of his performances recently.

Korean fans found out that he has been exploited and abused by his agents in Korea, and even imprisoned for several years. The condition of Eugene Park, who suffers from bipolar disorder and light autism, worsened due to his agents forcing him to take drugs. There are rumors that the CEO of Eugene's management company has connections with the police and the mafia which explains why the police have not done anything to help the musical prodigy.
