Rain May Testify Over Concert Cancellation Wednesday

The civil trial against South Korean pop star and actor Rain is scheduled to begin Tuesday in U.S. District Court, The Associated Press reported.

Rain whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon and his producers are being sued over the performer's abrupt cancellation of a June 2007 concert in Honolulu. Jury selection is scheduled to begin Tuesday and Rain could be called to testify as early as Wednesday, AP said.

"He will be appearing at some point in the litigation", the performer's Honolulu attorney Jennifer Lyons was quoted as saying.

Hawaii-based Click Entertainment Inc. alleges in the suit that Rain and his producers defrauded it of more than $500,000 paid in licensing fees. Also, it is seeking additional damages for the cost of staging the event, including rental of Aloha Stadium, stage production, travel, hotel accommodations, merchandising and advertising.

The concert was canceled just days before the scheduled June 15, 2007, performance at Aloha Stadium, disappointing many fans who paid as much as $300 for a ticket and flew to Honolulu from as far as away as Japan and South Korea. It was the first stop on the "Rain's Coming" U.S. tour.

Performances in San Francisco, Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles were also canceled. The show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles was canceled less than two hours before show time, "due to issues related to the show's production", promoters said. All ticket holders were offered refunds.

Concert organizers at the time said they called off the performances because of a copyright challenge from Nevada-based record company Rain Corp. A Nevada District Court later dismissed the case.

Rain, 26, is widely popular across Asia where his smooth dance moves and sculpted body have earned him the nickname of the "Justin Timberlake of Asia". He also gained popularity with his roles in Korean TV drama series, such as the hit "Full House".

Korean singer BoA, 23, recently held a listening party, where fans and friends listened to the artist’s latest single, at the Microsoft Zune Loft in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.

She sang “I Did It for Love,” a single off her U.S. album, “Eat You Up,” live for the first time in public and showcased a teaser of the music video, directed by Korean-American Joseph Kahn, who shot Britney Spears’ videos for “Toxic” and “Stronger” and the Pussycat Dolls’ “When I Grow Up.”

Her first U.S. album will be released next Tuesday, with subsequent releases in Korea and Japan

Not even a month after her debut, Sori has released a second MV. The MV is for "Pinky Finger" and it features Lee Junki who raps on the track, I believe he hasn't rapped since Hyori's Anystar.

This MV is garnering additional attention due to the fact that it was directed by BoA's older brother, Kwon Soon Ok. The MV includes scenes from her debut musical "The Ballerina Who Loved A B-Boy." Overall though, the MV seems a bit boring for all the hype that it seems to be trying to generate... even with Lee Junki.

Super Junior Heechul's homo kiss happening “A performance to cause sparks”



Super Junior is a outstanding idol group in which 13 members each fit their own individual style. Kangin, Ryeowook, Sungmin, Yesung, Eeteuk, Kyuhyun, Donghae, Hankyung, who are strong in vocals, alongside with Eunhyuk, Heechul, Shiwon, Shindong, Kibum, who are strong in dance and rap, was about to show us an amazing performance along with singing live perfectly.

Last February, Heechul shared an intense kiss on the lips with the male drummer at their Thailand concert. His sudden behavior became the topic of conversation.

Not sure what is more amusing: the title of the article, the odd grouping of them members in the first paragraph (since when has singing been Hankyung's and Eeteuk's strengths and not dancing?), or the responses by some special fans to the article ("...not gonna lie when I heard my Heechul kissed a boy I cried so hard that I died and was reincarnated and then forgave him because obviously all my boyz are 100% straight 4 sure!!"). No First Place for TVXQ on Oricon Chart this time

TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki has enjoyed first place on the Oricon Charts for their releases over the past year but this wasn't the case this time. With stiff competition, TVXQ placed 3rd on the Oricion Daily Sales chart. TVXQ's single "Survivor" had a total sales of 54,243 while KAT-TUN almost tripled this amount for their single "Rescue" with 143,941 sales.

Although TVXQ has been quite popular in Japan, they still have some way to go before they can compete with the Arashi's and KAT-TUN's of the world.

A lot of hype, another delay for Son Dambi

WGM's alumni Son Dambi has had a slight setback in her career yet again. She was supposed to begin filming "Hype Nation," a hip-hop English language movie early next month. Hype Nation seems to be the perfect name for the movie, a lot of Hype but not much besides that... besides delays.

Son Dambi was supposed to play the female lead named Esther. However, due to financial distress related to the economic recession, filming has been delayed yet again. It seems that this project already had a hard enough time getting off the ground, with an initial delay back in January and months of planning. In the mean time, she's keeping herself busy. She has plans to continue with the release of her next album at the end of this month. Son Dambi is also keeping busy with acting lessons and practicing her English. She also has plans to star in an upcoming drama.

Boys Over Flowers Cast Leave for Jeju Island

The cast of the KBS Mon-Tues drama, 'Boys Over Flowers', left for Jeju Island on the 11th with the support of their fans.

The cast left on the first flight to Jeju Island at 6:55Am from Kim Po Airport. It has been revealed that they have already continued filming.

A representative stated, "Although it was the first flight (to Jeju) of the day, many fans showed up to show their support and love. They cheered on as Goo Hye Sun, Lee Minho, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Joon, Kim Bun, and Lee Min Jung boarded the plane."

According to released details, the cast and crew are planning to film on the island until the 13th. They resumed filming as soon as they landed in order to shoot the necessary airport scenes. Filming will continue at the hotel and the coastline.

With the end of 'Boys Over Flowers' near, the upcoming Jeju Island scenes will play an important role in the direction of the series.

"The Jeju Island segment will bring a major change to the Joonpyo-Jaekyung relationship."

'Boys Over Flowers' has recently been enjoying a bittersweet popularity. Jang Ja Yun, one of the members of the Evil Trio, was recently found dead in her house; police concluded the investigation as suicide. While suffering the sudden and shocking loss of their cast member, 'Boys Over Flowers' also received it's highest ratings with 35.5% on Monday.

After group Big Bang’s release of their own story in the book ‘Shouting to you in the world’, So Nyeo Shi Dae is the next to release their own style book.

Putting aside that of the Kpop realm, So Nyeo Shi Dae will lead as one of the Korean mass culture trend setters. So Nyeo Shi Dae’s interest for fashion has led them to being part of what leads the new mass culture in Korea, for example their colour skinny jeans won when promoting their hit song ‘Gee’ lately have set a fashion craze amongst the young people.

Nam Yoo Hee, who is preparing for this book ‘Elle Girl’ said, “In order to follow with the girls’ fashion, we have went directly to their quarters for a visit. We will look into the individual style of the 9 members and then also the style of the whole group.”

The book will be published on 17th March for ‘Elle Girl’ April issue.

It has been known that Britney Spears have took part in the composing of song ‘Look who’s talking’ off BoA’s 1st American album set to release on 17th March, together with Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg, Henrik Jonback and Michelle Lynn Bell.

Meanwhile, THR does a report on BoA recently identifying BoA as ‘next global pop wonder to watch’.

WonderGirls to receive strict training from JYP with the end of American concert performances

Group WonderGirls will receive strict training from Park Jin Young in America.

After the concert performance in America LA on the 5th, Orange County on the 6th and in New York on the 8th, WonderGirls will receive training from JYP USA training centre. They will also be preparing for their concert on 21st and 28th in Korean Busan and Seoul.

A JYP representative said on 11th, “WonderGirls are currently receiving training and also practising in JYP USA training centre. They will receiving training directly from Park  Jin Young - in terms of music and dance.”

The girls will return to Korea mid-March to prepare for their first concert .

It has been reported that ex-god member Sohn Ho Young and “Hello! My Lady’s” Yeon Mi Ju have been dating for three months now and that they might become the next star couple of the year.

However, Sohn Ho Young & Co. is firmly denying these reports, stating that Sohn & Yeon are just “friends” while Yeon Mi Ju’s camp is confirming that they are in fact boyfriend and girlfriends.

Japan and Korea's indie actresses met for a Nylon photoshoot. They couldn't have created a more interesting duo; Japan's beloved actress Aoi Yu (also known for her flawless features and billowy mix-matched vintage style) and Korea's blunt-banged indie girl actress/freelance photographer Bae Doo Na. The photoshoot was actually an idea that stemmed from Aoi Yu's previous interviews in which she stated, multiple times, that she wanted to met Bae. Unfortunately, the photos are not as interesting as one would expect. I thought the clothes should be more fun and original, but all we get is a lot of grays and muted blocks of color.

The cast of KBS2 hit drama Boys Before Flowers are over-worked and very tired. Lead actors Lee Min-ho (Gu Jun-pyo) and Kim Hyun-joong (Yu Ji-hoo) have dropped 8kgs and 6kgs respectively from their normal weight. With an impossible filming schedule and various other promotional activities the boys are burnt out.

Big Bang SeungRi will not take part in the group’s upcoming Hite beer CF.

Hite reveals on 12th March that the filming for CF has completed.

The concept for Big Bang’s CF this time is ‘cool guy’ and there is a scene where they will be enjoying the beer. To produce the atmosphere of the CF, the Big Bang members drank up to 2 boxes of beer of 12000CC.

And about SeungRi not appearing in the CF, Hite said, “SeungRi is currently still a minor. Hence we did not include him in CF.”
