WINNER’s Song Mino will be appearing as a guest for iKON’s Japanese concert tour.

iKON has concerts on September 10 and 11 in Chiba, on September 24 and 25 in Aichi, on October 5 and 6 in Osaka, on October 8 in Hyogo, on October 10 in Fukuoka, and more. They will be performing in five cities for a total of 14 concerts and will be meeting around 150,000 fans through their second arena tour.

Due to Song Mino and Bobby’s upcoming unit debut and promotions, the duo will be performing at iKON’s upcoming concerts. Bobby and Song Mino previously appeared on YG’s reality survival show that led to the debut of WINNER. They also were contestants on different seasons of rap competition show “Show Me the Money.”

Tickets go on sale August 13 at 10 a.m. KST.

My opinion: what an unnecessary mess.

I've heard all sorts of rumours as to why yg made this decision but i don't want to mention here cause it may ruffle some people's feathers + not confirmed.
I personally am not against Mino performing at one of the concerts from the tour. Like Lee Hi did when she performed at WINNER's seoul concert from EXIT tour.
My problem comes to the fact that he'll be attending ALL the remaining concerts of the tour. Basically making Mino fly in and out of Japan for the sake of performing 1 song that last max 5 min while he's filming The Collaboration in China and is presumably preparing for the release of X. Also, with the unit performing in Japan does that mean they won't be performing at Korean music shows? It makes no sense at all. I just don't see the point of making Mino perform at all the concerts, one concert would've been sufficient.
this pretty much confirms X is scheduled for a release in 2037...

Anyway, what are your thoughts? do you agree with YG making Mino fly in & out of Japan for 1 song? should IC / ikoniks accept this decision from YG? do you prefer vanilla or chocolate ice cream?

I don't really understand Reason #2 though. I mean, if Mino really is going to be at every concert, I'm sure J-ICs would want to know? I figure that's one way to try to bring in new fans for iKON as well. It just makes sense marketing wise (for the concert).
Are the Japan-ICs complaining about it too?

from what i could understand they see it as a disrespect to ICs to have ygex (? or whoever is in charge of japan promotions) promote an ikon concert on winner official fan club when yg doesn't even seem bothered to care that IC are waiting for the next project of EXIT movement. it boils down to frustration. and possibly IC not wanting to pay $$ to only see 5 min of Mino.

I'm super curious about the J-ikon and IC reactions though. Cause all I've seen on twitter so far are K-fans (even German-ICs lol) despite it not really being a concert marketed to them.
I even saw someone complain that they didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars to travel to japan just to see Mino for 5 minutes.... like?? haha

honestly i don't understand yg. if he promoted both groups equally giving them constant releases, fans on both sides wouldn't feel so frustrated and he could've had 2 groups ruling the korean pop world.
Winner deserves better. its bullshit that they haven't released more music. considering there are 3 composers and 4 lyricists and that they've been continuously making music since 2013. like when Winner isn't doing concerts they are always spotted coming in and out of YG. so where is the music at ??!! @ yg please answer!

I'm no Mino fan and honestly I'd rather have Bobby's solo announced prior to this unit, but Bobby is one of my children and I support him especially knowing he's close to Mino. I think it's ok for Mino to guest at a fee tour stops but it's unnecessary for him to be at all (tho I doubt this will happen since YG never comes through with what he says) because I'd rather have the other members get solo stages than have this unit at all stops.

But I think both sides need to fucking sit down realax and stop being so nasty. The boys are close they wanted to do this collab and from their recent event they look like they're having so much fun everyone should support that and stop assuming this was forced that the members of both groups will be negatively affected by this or that they are not happy and supportive of them.

Also YAY for my boys already selling out the dates on all 4 official ticketing sites.

The boys collabing & performing is not the problem.
IMO the problem is having Mino perform at all the concerts. Like its honestly unnecessary. From IC pov it takes time away from the completion of EXIT movement & from ikonik pov it takes time away from other members solo stage in concert. I just feel that overall this particular decision was stupid. 1 concert wouldve been more than enough.

I don't think Mino performing at some or even all tour stops can affect completition of EXIT. The songs are done and if YG had any plans of another cb for Winner he wouldn't be putting Mino on this tour at all. I'm pretty sure YG didn't plan on giving Winner a cb in the next month or even two especially since BP just debuted he'll focuss on them. Then he might promote MOBB and only after that can I see him putting Winner back on. So Mino performing on this tour affects Winner cb in no way.

I do agree that it does take away from other iKON members having solo stages but let's be real they didn't have them up until now so I highly doubt YG was gonna give them some now, which is sad.

But again this info of him being at all stops is not confirmed and even if it came from YG's mouth himself he can still change his mind after the first stops, it wouldn't be a first.

I feel like what IC's are mostly pissed about is Mino going on this tour period, just like some iKONics are too, which is petty af.

I'm having trouble following YG's thought process on this one.
1. Mino and Bobby to release a Korean unit song.
2. In order to promote it, they will perform it at ikon concerts- in JAPAN

First off, if they're ikon fans, they probably checked the song out for Bobby already. What's the point of special performances at the concert? Bobby can do what Mino did with Fear and perform with a backing track. Secondly, why are they promoting a Korean release at concerts in Japan when music shows still exist?

It's so weird how overworked Mino is while the other Winner members are practically unemployed at this point. If there's gonna be a break between BP/MOBB and X, let Mino rest and bring back SSTV for Winner promo. It's really not that difficult to figure out a solution to all 3 problems.

See, that's the thing I'm confused about. Usually a single member is promoted really vigorously to get the group into the public eye / because no one really knows who the others are, but that's not really the case with Winner. There are other members with decent public recognition, and idk what the company is achieving by not giving them work.

The balance could be better is all I'm saying.

I mean I'm not over the moon about this because I find it kind of pointless and I'm scared Mino will end up getting backlash from some ikon stans for some reason or another but starting a movement to try and get the stage collab cancelled is ridic imo. I'm sure Mino and Bobby will have fun and while I do want Mino to rest, maybe he doesn't? He had a lot of unwanted rest not too long ago so he might be really excited about this.
