BTSlay Have the Most Viewed KPOP MVs in America and Worldwide for the Month of May

BTS' new Young Forever album already broke records on the Billboard 200 chart and now its accompanying music videos are ruling YouTube.

The boy band saw their new videos for "Fire" and "Save Me" take the No. 1 and 2 spot, respectively, on May's stateside and international list of the Top 10 most-viewed K-pop videos on YouTube. BTS is once again proving how they're a force to be reckoned with on the K-pop scene as last month's top-viewed videos are typically from acts from larger record labels supporting them.

Other acts making splashes on both charts include Girls' Generation member Tiffany with her debut solo single "I Just Wanna Dance" at No. 3 on both charts. Meanwhile, Akdong Musician see both of their comeback videos for "How People Move" and "Re-Bye" bow on both charts. Trendy girl groups AOA and I.O.I along with R&B singer Crush, also land on both the U.S. and global charts.

Congrats! I like much more the video of 'Save Me' than 'Fire', not because 'Fire' has something wrong, in fact it's kind of hilarious, but 'Save Me' is really captivating for its simplicity.

I'm confused about a thing, how is the list from around the world counted? I follow AOA, IOI, Baek A Yeon and Twice so I know more or less and how much views they have and I find suprising the first three are in this list but not Twice when they have more views and the MV wasn't out until the end of April, so I would guess most of those views are from May. How this works?

They probably counted only the MVs released in May? I haven't checked but I'm pretty sure all of the MVs in the list were released last month. I could be wrong.

Their album debuted at no. 107 on the chart and it's the second kpop act (after G-Dragon with One Of A Kind on 161 and Coup d'Etat on 182) to have had 2 albums peaking in Top 200. HYYH pt. 2 was no. 171 last December.

There's something about them that really appeals to casual viewers and people not in kpop fandom. I think their styling, concept, music, choreo, and the way they come across is very accessible -- especially for those who like to dismiss kpop as 'effeminate' pretty boys wearing too much makeup and dancing to auto-tuned stuff that sounds like its about a decade or two old.

i'm so happy for them ;) and i just become a fan in the latter half of last year. i'm usually not a fan of these hip-hop/rap kpop groups. feels weird and way too force to me and tbh, bts looked that way to me in the beginning, which is why i originally ignored them.

if it hadn't been for some stupid and highly biased poll that was posted here about the best or memorable dance for a song, i probably still would ignoring them. so to whoever posted that, thank you.

I did the same tbh. When I saw We Are Bulletproof pt. 2 I thought they were too young to be trying so hard and then I saw War of Hormone but I still side-eyed them because of the title. I liked I Need U tho but I still didn't pay attention to them. Then I watched Youtubers React to Kpop pt. 3 where DOPE was one of the videos and they got me hyped for the song. And then one gloomy day I was watching the MV because I needed something to lift my spirits up and when Jin's part came and he smiled at the camera I knew I was in for the long run.
