Melon Music Awards 2019 Announces Nominees For Top 10 + Voting Begins
On October 30, Melon announced the 40 nominees that are in the running for this year’s Top 10.
Only artists who released music between December 1, 2018 and November 13, 2019 were eligible. The nominees include 29 artists chosen by weekly Melon Popularity Award results (selected by Melon weekly charts and votes) along with 11 artists who were additionally chosen by their Melon download and streaming counts.
The final Top 10 will be determined 80 percent based on Melon download and streaming counts and 20 percent based on votes.
Top 10 voting is open from October 30 through November 13 for Melon users with verified accounts.

MAMA 2019 Nominees + Omona Voting!
This year’s ceremony will take place on December 4 at Nagoya Dome in Japan — the awards show’s largest venue to date. (OP note: i have no idea how mnet will cram everything into one day, be prepared for a 8-hour-show probably)
Mnet also revealed the theme for this year’s show, explaining, “The concept for 2019 MAMA is ‘The NEXT DIMENSION : MUSIC,’ which means music, the next dimension opening of a new era. On the New Music Grid, both artists and fans will become Music Pioneers, creating MAMA that opens a new world of ‘Music Makes One.'”
In order to be eligible, the music must have been released between November 1, 2018 and October 23, 2019. Voting will take place from October 24 at 6 p.m. KST through December 3 at 11:59 p.m. KST.
Song of the Year and Song Genre Category Awards – 20% official votes, 40% judge panel, 30% digital song sales, 10% physical album sales
Album of the Year – 40% judge panel, 60% physical album sales
Worldwide Icon of the Year, Worldwide Fans’ Choice Top 10 – 60% official votes, 20% social media votes, 20% global music video views
Best Music Video – 70% judge panel, 30% global music video views

Happy Friday! It’s been raining pretty much all week, and today we finally got a break and now I can finally go outside. Every week I go through the charts for this day in the past and post the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, let’s check out what we were listening to in the 3rd week of January, 2015.
#3 Jonghyun featuring Zion. T “Deja Boo”
I love this song so much, it’s my most favorite of his solo stuff. I know there were some complaints about the MV being a performance video, but I’ve always liked it. He looks so great up on stage, and I just like the song too much anyways lol. Zion. T looking so fresh and so clean clean in white! And P.S. oh my god I can’t believe I’d forgotten all about that SM hologram musical thing lol!

Swings and Giriboy join Show Me The Money 777
On July 2, Mnet’s survival program “Show Me The Money 777” announced the first line-up for the producer teams. For the first producer team, rappers Swings and Giriboy have decided to join forces.
As soon as the line-up revealed, much anticipation arose as what kind of synergy these two will create. Swings and Giriboy commented, “we hope to make a great picture through “Show Me the Money 777″ with the new contestants.”

The Cry Super Concert Lineup
The full lineup: Rae Sremmurd, CL, Dok2, Zico, Giriboy, DPR Live, The Quiett, Crush, BewhY, Nucksal, Changmo, Hash Swan, Keem Hyo Eun, Deep Flow, and Huckleberry P. The concert will be held at Nanji Hangang Park, Seoul South Korea on April 28. Tickets are on sale now starting at 130 USD. The lineup was announced two weeks ago, but the article was put out today.

GIRIBOY starts off new era with pre-release track: “바보상자스타 (TV STAR) [ft. KIM SEUNGMIN]”
The title literally translates to “Star of the Dumb Box.” The song is a pre-release off Giriboy's next full-length album. In the track, the rapper expresses his wish for all the idol and dance musicians to be proud of themselves and become world-wide stars.
YES, i've been waiting for even giriboy news for what seems like forever, tbh. he totally dropped this with zero notice, tho—i thought anything would come out after just music finished their us / canada tour. also, giriboy listens to yaeji and you should too!
