Crying Nut has asked Mnet to not interfere in their lawsuit against CNBLUE.
The indie band had filed a lawsuit because CNBLUE previously performed Crying Nut’s “Offside” on ‘M!Countdown‘ back in 2010 and the recorded performance was later included in their DVD released in Japan. However, Mnet had stepped forward to say they would be taking responsibility for the lawsuit.
However, Crying Nut emphasized that the problem was with CNBLUE and not Mnet. Through an official press release, they commented, “We already received compensation from the broadcast station because of the wrongful broadcast, DVD reproduction, and DVD distribution. There is nothing else that the broadcast station is responsible for anymore.”
They then explained, “The problem that’s left is with CNBLUE because they deceived and misled the viewers and the Japanese DVD buyers that Crying Nut’s own AR music was their own live sound. In other words, they have to pay for the actions of stealing our musical property (copyright, neighboring copyrights). This is not something Mnet should mediate or cooperate with. We will not be covering this up. We will be taking strict measures.”

Date: 2013-02-15 04:17 pm (UTC)rme. crying nut are not wrong in wanting to protect their intelectual property, but they're going after the wrong people. Go after MNet for using their AR recording in the first place and CNBlue's company for not giving a shit about using it on a DVD for profit.

the timing is too convenience.

Date: 2013-02-15 04:28 pm (UTC)the biggest mistake was from a company trying to profit from a cover without clearing it up with the original artists, but i doubt that cnblue acted the way they claim in this, artists cover others artists all the time.

Date: 2013-02-15 04:35 pm (UTC)FNC even asked fans to not buy it, they released official notice in their page saying they weren't involve in the production or distribution of that DVD.

Date: 2013-02-15 04:38 pm (UTC)but seriously they are attacking wrong people.
it is MNET & FNC they should consult.
obviously MNET have admit their mistake and already pay them, they accept the money but seem like they don't care at all and still not satisfied.
for me their purpose only to ruin CNBLUE reputation.
they seem too petty and childish with this.
why wait to do this specially during the boys important comeback this year?
why they not directly do the lawsuit when it still fresh&just happen or when MNET give them the money but only wait until now when they just doing their comeback.
the timing to too convenience lol.
blaming them for something that happen during the time the boys JUST DEBUT not too long where they are still newbie and don't have power to do any decision.
i heard CNBLUE just apologize.not sure true or not.
but if it true let just see what their reaction if they accept or not.
i mean being the sunbae but still try ruin youngsters who just started pursuing their dream when they can just settle this peacefully they sound too petty.
i hope they would just accept the apology and move on.
if they still try to make this into bigger problem after this then i don't want to believe their purpose is that innocent to protect their music only.

the timing is way too convenience.
i would be pissed if they win this since CNBLUE is not in fault at all but just getting drag by the greedy adult game for their dirty marketing purpose.
seriously the boys name keep getting drag in the mud since debut with Loner plagiarism which obviously not their fault as well but of course people still blame the no matter what.
i just wish the best for them.

Date: 2013-02-15 05:15 pm (UTC)Also their comment about CNBlue just fake strumming along should be aimed at Mnet, and all the music shows for not supporting live music, how that is the fault of CNblue. Also rookie groups have to do what Companies tell them, otherwise they hold grudges. To demonise Cnblue as some evil band infringing on their rights is such misinformation that this is really coming off as some lame attempt to gather the hipster army against Cnblue.
Also Crying Nut, noone thought Offside was their song mate, give it a rest. Like noone can cover songs anymore without it being somehow stealing.
Keep trying though, this has just made me want to protect CNbue and I love indie music more than anyone.

Date: 2013-02-15 05:25 pm (UTC)What a rookie was supposed to do? they have to do what their are told by the station or get banned, M!countdown requested the song, provided the AR sound and failed to credit. It's their negligence.
Yonghwa said in his Gaon acceptance speech: "In 2013, I wish for CNBLUE to be loved more as a band." ....i guess that's not gonna happened thanks to Crying Nut.

Date: 2013-02-15 11:49 pm (UTC)They have succeed to discredit CNBLUE, the few credibility among knetiz that they started to gain with this comeback is probably gone. Even if Crying Nut loses on trial, which is highly possible, damage is done.
It's like they know Mnet is to blame but still go at them to prove something...probably That they are not worthy of the title "band", to reinforce the thought in those who believe they are a fake band or just to prove that indies are superior and you shouldn't mess with them.

Date: 2013-02-15 09:56 pm (UTC)The issue is that even if it was the Mnet's fault, CNBlue and FNC hadn't taken responsibility for what is very disrespectful to Crying Nut; even their apology was half-assed: Crying Nut didn't even hear about the apology until it was in the news. I'm sorry, but it just looks like FNC is trying to hype up the issue more since they're the big company and have an advantage in media play.
