Psy’s follow up song to “Gangnam Style” postponed

Psy‘s original plan to release his follow up song to “Gangnam Style” has been postponed.

Originally, Psy had planned to release his new half in Korean and half in English song on November 20th. However, it was reported to be postponed and YG Entertainment‘s Yang Hyun Suk added, “I listened to Psy’s new American single, and it sounded very good. Of course, it’s just my personal opinion, but I think it’ll come close to “Gangnam Style”.”

He also said, “He had hinted that his new album would be released in mid-November, but we’re adjusting the release date because of the continued popularity of “Gangnam Style”. We’re planning to get more from “Gangnam Style” and look over the results. It won’t be too much of a delay to release the new album in early next year.”

On the mixture of Korean and English in Psy’s new song, Yang Hyun Suk added, “We’re also looking over the ratio of Korean to English in his new song. We’re going to release something that will be the most beneficial to Psy after carefully monitoring what’s going on.”

i don't think gangnam style has reached the same popularity/notoriety in other countries as it have in the u.s. it's getting there, though. they'll probably get him to make an appearance in the mtv ema to strengthen his presence in europe. and from there probably have a promotional tour of europe.

and i won't be surprised if they'll wait until the Christmas season to release his next single. novelty songs tend to do well during that time.

Gangnam Style popularity skyrocketed without any warning, planning or so-called strategy from a korean agency. Don't tell us you're "careful monitoring" the follow-up when you have no idea what you're talking about, dude.

If anything, YG proved they don't understand America market with their failure to prep & debut 2NE1 this year (the girls still speak horrid english and the Will.I.Am album is still awol)

I sincerely hope next Psy single will be successful tho, but YG will be under no circumstances responsible for it!
