Okay, so (old) Jersey only just heard about Gangnam Style last week and has been playing it on the radio like crazy, so we're late to the party. I know people are starting to think of it as old (which Jersey already thinks!) but when I saw the article in today's paper I got such a kick out of it and thought Omona would too. It's partly awfully researched and partly okay...but mostly just hilarious. And the "how to dance Gangnam Style" is a nice touch even if they don't know what "Oppa" means.

I went out to a restaurant tonight for pm the first time since this really took hold over here, and it was blasting from a club across the street and a car full of ~young hip students~ drove past us blaring it and going "woooo!!!" I am never leaving my house again.

People tend to think its some weird concept that you need to grasp. I have friends who are into kpop and a lot that aren't. The ones who aren't (bless their hearts) always ask me to explain kpop, like somehow if I can come up with a reasonable definition they'll be able to enjoy it as well. Im always like you don't have to force yourself, some people just don't like it which happens in all genres of music.
