Psy has signed on with UNIVERSAL REPUBLIC RECORDS for his management worldwide with the exception of Korea and Japan.
PSY will pursue a singing career under the management of Schoolboy Records, part of Universal Republic. Schoolboy Records is also in charge of managing the careers of pop star Justin Bieber and songstress Carly Rae Jepsen, while Universal Republic represents such artists as Gotye, Drake, Nicki Minaj and Mika.
Riding the wave of his global popularity, PSY's music video "Gangnam Style" reached over 100 million views as of September 5 at 9 a.m. KST, making him the first K-pop artist to achieve such feat.
Along with the news, it has also been announced that Psy will be attending the MTV VMA (Video Music Awards) coming up at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on September 6 (September 7 KST).

I think the earlier info that he signed with Island Records was just a guess made by some unprofessional reporters.
