U-KISS AJ to take a 5 month break to focus on Studies

Hello, this is NH Media.

We have an important announcement to make in regards to U-KISS's member, AJ.
You may have heard of AJ's acceptance to Columbia University in USA in previous news reports. Due to his educational commitments, AJ will have his last appearance for this month at U-KISS's Japanese concert.
This does not mean AJ is leaving U-KISS. He will be taking a temporarily break of approximately five months to focus on his studies, and will return to normal activities with U-KISS afterwards.
We are extremely sorry to say that AJ will be unable to hold a greeting in Korea before his break due to his university admission timeframe and U-KISS's Japanese activities.
We ask that you continue to provide support for U-KISS during the time when AJ will not be with the rest of the U-KISS members, until he returns; sometime early next year.

Thank you for always supporting U-KISS.
We have an important message concerning U-KISS member AJ’s activities.

During the performance of "U-KISS 1st JAPAN LIVE TOUR 2012「A Shared Dream」～Special Edition on the 29th of July, it has (also already) been announced that U-KISS member AJ in order to focus on his studies at the Colombia University in New York, will be ceasing his activities temporarily for approximately five months starting this August.

As a result AJ will not be present at upcoming concerts and events as of August.
He will however only be performing at the “a-nation stadium fes. Charge Go! Wieder in Jellyー”as planned

We apologize to all the fans, who have been looking forward to see AJ perform.
We are deeply sorry for the belated notification.

I didn't attend Columbia (Pfft... like I was smart enough to get in...), but if it's like the college I attended, he's going to get about 1 month off for Christmas and New Year's.

I guess it depends on what his school scheduling is. It's possible he may put in a request for a leave for a semester or something. However if he is attending as a freshman, I don't know if would be able to get that kind of request since he would just be starting his attendance at Columbia. I'm inclined to think this because people who are transfer students wouldn't need to visit the campus or do an entrance interview (or not that I'm aware of). I don't know if this scenario is different for an international student.

this post should include the videos where the boys cry and they can't even sing their lines in 'a shared dream' ;____; did not cry when i found out about jaeseop but cried when i saw the boys crying. and here i am thinking, if we, kissmes don't know him personally and we're already distraught, imagine the other members' feelings wuwuwuwu. they've grown so attached to one another after all they went through :'(

anyway. i'm gonna say this again even though i said it on twitter and rocketboxx already. this is one smart move by NH media by not letting him go permanently. they know he's an asset and know that the fans looooove him so it's good that they're keeping him but still let him take a break for his studies. at last, after all the problems in the past, this is one good move, NH media. giving jaeseop the best of both worlds.

so all the best to him!! he's been my bias for like, forever, and i'm so proud of him. it's gonna be sad to think who'll be singing his parts and all (don't deny our r squared pi and eeny meeny miny moe oh God) but this is a good path he's embarking on. he can't be an idol forever. kissmes will be here for you when you come back, kitty ^^

u-kiss with 6 mmbrs will be awkward but it's much better than having someone new. well u-kiss still have my support, with or without jaeseop :D kim jaeseop, fighting! u-kiss, fighting!!

i think it's his passion for music that will pull him back to the boys. and his attachment to them too, of course :) and boys are doing well in japan so that's another thing.

but you're also right. even i, personally, would enjoy studying then doing something where its future is vague. but then, i'm a nerd lol XD and yes, i can't imagine him coming back after 5 months. hopefully he won't leave the band or something lol (oh please don't)

I'm so happy for him but really, I'm sad since I really like seeing him with the other guys (I love him since he's really awesome as a person/performer). I mean, who's going to rap his parts now? He's the best rapper in the group and well, when he raps, he actually rap instead of ~rap sing~ like what other K-Pop rappers do. xD

I have mixed feelings about this but despite many people saying that he won't be coming back, I actually have faith that he will. Seeing how he actually enjoy being with the members, composing & written songs both in Korean & Japanese for them -- that kind of love & passion cannot die just by experiencing an American college life. Plus, when you're performing on stage, and hear all the warm cheers from the fans or the joy of performing and do the things that you love, he will miss all this things surely and will be aching to come back to the group. idk, I actually have a strong feeling that he will come back eventually. :))

It's wise of him to push through with his studies. As much as it pains me to see him leave for a while, he was the reason I started following U-KISS, I'm happy for him.

I wish he focuses on his studies full time, but I also hope NH Media uses some of the songs he's composed in the past for future U-KISS releases. (He mentioned in one of their reality shows that he's constantly composing, right?)
