Artists under the ‘Big 4′ agencies (YG, SM, JYP, and Cube Entertainment) have dominated music program wins this year, taking home around 74% of the winner’s trophies!

From the first week of January 2011 to the second week of September, a total of 108 trophies have been given out by the three music programs that declare winners – ‘Music Bank‘, ‘Inkigayo‘, and ‘M! Countdown‘.

Out of those 108 trophies, 80 of them went to artists under the ‘Big 4′.

Starting with SM Entertainment, TVXQ won 9 times, f(x) won 10 times, and Super Junior won 11 times, totaling to 30 trophies.

Under YG Entertainment, GD&TOP won twice, Big Bang won 14 times, Seungri won five times, and 2NE1 won six times, totaling to 27 trophies.

Under Cube Entertainment, G.NA won four times, B2ST won eight times, and 4minute once, totaling to 13 trophies.

As for JYP Entertainment, 2PM won seven times and miss A won three times, totaling to 10 trophies.

SM and YG combined total to 57 trophies, dominating about 53% of the total trophies won this year. Putting all of the ‘Big 4′ together totals to 74% of the trophies this year.

Teams that put the ‘Big 4′ aside included SECRET‘s “Shy Boy” with five wins and “Starlight Moonlight” with one win, totaling to six wins together. CNBLUE won seven times for “Intuition”, Kim Hyun Joong‘s “Break Down” won four times, T-ara‘s “Roly-Poly” won three times, Jay Park‘s “Abandoned” won twice, and INFINITE‘s “Be Mine” won twice.

IU continued her “Good Day” streak with one win in the first week of the year while K-Will, Wheesung, and SISTAR, all took home a trophy each.

But anyways I don't see this article as a good thing perse. It shouldn't be so hard for groups outside the big 3/4 to work themselves up the ladder.

lol I don't think cube is big enough to be next to the other 3 even if they did beat JYP in wins so far. Their only truly popular idol rn is beast tbh.

But anyways, so happy for YG and Big Bang especially who surprisingly got more wins than all of the groups, even TVXQ, was not expecting that. Congrats bbs!

g.na is surprisingly popular for a rookie soloist. though i personally don't see the appeal of her.

and agreed! i was pleasantly surprised to see that big bang racked up the most wins of all the groups.

just to be a cynical cindy, again, but idk why people are so surprised about cube, they may be new, but they didn't come up and started from nothing and nowhere, they already started big and with more income, connections and trainees then other new companies.

and man i'm just glad that jype is not on red anymore, mostly because of miss a.

well idk, i look up at the big 3 not just as the three biggest companies in the k-pop scene but as the triad with probably the biggest number of contributions to k-pop in general.
sme's is obvious, kpop's current scene of boybands and girlbands wouldn't have started w/o them. yg is for the electro/hiphop fusion (yay for autotune and your obligatory rap in almost every k-pop song during 09 and onwards) and jyp can be credited for the girl group influx (beginning from 07) and the popularity of hook songs (tell me started them all).
cube, so far... it's obvious they've certainly come way ahead from where they began but they haven't left their mark yet. i don't see anything they've contributed to k-pop that hasn't been done before or isn't just a rehash of previously existing concepts only done better. but they're definitely getting there, but it's still a long way to go.

Well, I guess if Beast keeps up the hard work then Cube really will be one of the 'big' companies.

Since I think BEAST is one of, if not the best male group to debut in years I'm glad Cube is pushing it's way to the top. Still has a long way to go to even catch up to the big 3 though.

Also the big 3 dominate pretty much everything no matter what time of the year it is, so why is this news?

I could tell that Cube had been building it's own little pedestal next to the Big 3 for a while now. They haven't been around as long and yet they've managed to market their artists like they've been doing it forever. So proud of my bbs ;_______;

I know they were barely touching the big 3 as it was, but losing SS501 must've been a real blow for DSP... Hopefully with Kara's success and Rainbow on the rise they can get back on track soon.

Also, since I'm forever butthurt about A'st1, I hope their DSP's boy group makes their debut soon.

Proud of Beast, Infinite and Secret. They had so far a very good year and they deserve it tbh. I'm also really happy about G.NA because it's quite good to see one female soloist being actually popular enough to confront bands.
K-Will should have won more because his mini was just amazing. Also pains me to see that Seo In Juk isn't on the list yet.

And for the "I don't get it with the songs they had how they won anything", Super Junior and 2ne1. Their albums/song titles were completely missed by myself. *shrugs*

You're right about G.NA, it's hard for the solo artists to keep up with the following the groups have so to be winning four awards is really good going for her (and especially as she's still a fairly new artist). But yes K.Will should have won more but then I feel like he never gets anywhere near the love he deserves. The guy is amazing all round! I would love to see many more of the great solo artists picking up more awards.
