12 Indicted for Libeling Tablo

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office on Thursday said it has indicted 12 people for spreading false rumors on the Internet that Tablo of the hip-hop group Epik High faked his academic credentials.
Prosecutors offered rewards for the capture of six people who either live overseas, including the 57-year-old operator of a website that posted the rumors, or whose identities could not be verified. Indictments were suspended for two others since they were minors.
They have been charged with libel for posting claims on the Internet website that Tablo fabricated his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Stanford University and claimed that his family had also lied about their achievements. Most of the indicted individuals are office workers between 20 to 40, and two are doctors.
