In a shocking turn of events that no one saw coming—except for 2PM and "The Red Sleeve" fans—2PM's Junho has risen, like a Phoenix from the 2nd-gen ashes, to dethrone none other than BTS' very own Jimin from his top spot on the January Boygroup Member Brand Reputation list. Jimin has famously ranked #1 for 35 months straight.

Second of all, I literally know nothing about this list or how it works lmao, so no, I don't care if my faves make it or not, which...have they? I don't even know lol🙈. Does it have any real-word ramifications?

Also—allegedly, emphasis on allegedly— the man/organization who runs this is super sketchy? I don't remember if I read about this here, on ONTD or on Twitter lol but I'm gonna try and look for the source of these rumors and report back, but if anyone knows please enlighten us!

PS omg why does my phrasing in the post sound like I'm throwing shade at everyone involved - I swear it was unintentional lol 😭🙈. Although armies congratulating Jimin for organically being second place was a little funny.

Idk what this ranking means and in the grand scheme of things I don't think it matter much. I see it as the idols people are talking about the most each month but idk *shrugs*. I just see people talking about it every month, but other than that I don't pay too much attention to it.

Good for Junho tho. It's great that all his years of hard work in the industry is paying off. Also, good on Chansung for getting 9th. Even if this list might not mean much.

What people don't know or forget about these rankings is that they include a positivity/negativity rate and artists can actually rank high because of bad reputation instead of good. Those who are involved in a controversy or scandal may get their names high up there simply because people are talking about them online. I think I remember names like Se*ngri and Lucas rising in the rankings like this.

Also the rankings can flip flop between including some people and not including them so the names can change a lot. Like the minute Wanna One disbanded the members were wiped out from the rankings, so we didn't see Kang Daniel anymore though he was previously topping the list. And now that the group is apparently reuniting suddenly they can be included again.

I haven't given much thought to this chart ranking in ages simply because the rankings are all over the place and it's just something to give fans bragging rights. Jimin has been going strong for well over a year, which is already amazing as is, but it was so unexpected for Junho to take the top spot. It's a refreshing change for a 2nd gen BG member to come out on top. Congrats to him!
