I’ve only seen snippets of the interview. I can only handle one meltdown at a time on Twitter. Sadly, Lucas’ scandal is just leaving me floored in a way that I didn’t think I could be after all these years of following K-pop.

it mentions the chart gains that army have been known to pull (buying multiple mp3s off bts' website, how army has huge organized campaigns for cbs thru websites like paypal, etc)

this is one of the passages describing it: “ARMY’s crowdfunding efforts are certainly near legendary at this point. As screen grabs of account balances and bulk purchase receipts on Twitter reviewed by Billboard show, BTS fans use PayPal to pool money from ARMY around the globe and make the purchases that will count toward U.S. sales. “ARMY WHERE ARE YOU??” @borakore52 asked in an Aug. 5 tweet. “I have enough for 448 sets of 16 PTD plus 24 Butter!! You know, I didn't notice at first because I was distracted by their faces, but now that you mention it.. 🤔 Jin looks good in that velvet suit though and I like JK's cover.

I feel like the article doesn't really tell us anything we didn't already know, but it must sting to read those charts manipulation accusations in an article by a respected publication..

I thought this was one their best interviews/articles in a long time. They’re lucky they actually get such in-depth, fair coverage from major publications, even if it's not always 100% flattering.

And I'm blissfully ignorant of stan twitter but I’m assuming the meltdown is about the fact that they actually pointed out army was doing the shit they were doing? At least they didn't bring up some armys trying to start an npo so they could buy more albums, that was a new low. It says a lot that the billboard organization itself is calling this shit out and it could be a moment for some perspective and humility but I'm guessing nah

It was an interesting read. It was long and we basically know all those stuff they just made a way to put it all together and print it. I didn't check the trends online coz its never fun when fans go gaga over something (and I love BTS so please don't tell me I'm an anti that's why I didn't bother). I guess some fans just did not expect BB to put BTS and chart manipulation together.

on the one hand, this gives me some hope for their new album, but on the other hand the songs they've been releasing and the promo they've done this year feels otherwise

It looks like their deal with Columbia Records is making them release English songs they don’t really want to release. Maybe they were ok with that because of the pandemic and they couldn’t tour but now that maybe next year they’ll be able to do concerts they’re stuck in this English salad hell. Hopefully they’ll release a Korean album this year.
Stan Twitter coming to the rescue of grown ass millionaires men is always a roller coaster. But yes Jin looks incredible. And Jimin in blush pink is cute too. Taehyung should model more he was made for that!

it is just bizarre that critical thinking is completely thrown out of the window for these fans if bts is involved. it might also be because kpop idols are often not asked very critical questions about their careers in media, but i just think it's bizarre to expect billboard to ignore some of the discussions around their no.1 charting

taehyung is a great model... sometimes i wishes bts could've had more individual activities as well
