Wassup party people, it's Friday! Every week I check out the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, we are going back to the 5th week in July, 2010.


#3 SHINee “Lucifer”
“Lucifier” was the title track from the group’s second full album of the same name. I always forget about this song until I see the styling from this era, and then everything comes back to me lol. The song would peak at #2, and the album would rank in the top ten at the end of the year. Here’s a performance from Music Core. I miss their random outside stages lol.

#2 G.Na “I'll Get Lost, You Go Your Way”
This was her official debut song, and it was a success. It would peak at #2, and she won her first music show trophy for it. I was so obsessed with this back then, and I still really like it. Here’s a special performance of the song featuring her former labelmate, Hyuna. They both look fab.

#1 Miss A “Bad Girl Good Girl”
Their monster debut, this song and dance was EVERYWHERE at the time. The song went straight to the top of the charts. They would win multiple music show trophies in their first month, and the fastest in Music Bank history. It would win SOTY at MAMA, and is one of their biggest selling songs. Here’s a performance of the song on Sketchbook during the “Hush” era.

Honorable Mentions

#6 Son Dam Bi “Queen”
She would put out an EP and a few songs after this, but this was her last big release. I’m pretty sure this is the last era I remember clearly before she decided to focus on acting. I also remember this one because the MV was plagiarized and they had to re-cut it lol. I still think it’s a fun song and she looks like she's having fun on stage with it.

#10 4Minute “I Me Mine”
This was their second single from the group’s fabulous “Hit Your Heart” EP. It wasn’t as big of a hit as the promotional track “HuH”, but it still sold very well and would crack into the top ten. I loved this era from them so much. The group would release a Japanese version of the song a few weeks later.

Why did I think I'll Get Lost So You Can Live came out like months earlier lol? For some reason I thought it came out in spring instead of summer. Anyway I really like that song, G.NA was robbed of the career she should have had.

OP I also miss Music Core's outside stages lol. Back then I thought they had the most fun stages, I really liked watching my groups perform on Music Core.

It was just always so random lol! Water parks, beaches, football fields, amusement parks, malls, skating rinks, etc...nothing beats the most iconic SNSD Genie stage on top of the building tho!

Also watched the G.na performance you posted and holy shit that was Hyuna??? That looks and sounds nothing like her nowadays, like I would never had guessed that was her if you hadnt pointed that out.

Lucifer is iconic, from the vocals to the outfits to the dance routine which changed boy group dances for the better. Truly one of their best title tracks

Hush is one of my favorite title tracks and its aged like fine wine. I still feel they would have been bigger had JYPE invested more in the whole group. They had a solid discography before disbandment.

i was looking at their discography and they've got only 5 albums in the years they were active (ep and lp) and 2 single albums? jyp really dropped the ball on them. their last album colors was soooooooo good

They have one of the best discographies in K-pop for female idols. JYP really fucked up with them. They could have put out at least 2 more albums before quitting :(

i forgot how good g.na's debut was.

i didn't like BGGG at all when it came out but it grew on me a few years later.

HUH era is still my fave for 4minute :') i remember a lot of ppl wanting highlight as a follow-up but i think IMMM was a good choice.

Yes!! I was a lurker at the time since membership was more tight back then and I had such major FOMO not getting to join the comment party 😭😭😭

JUSTICE FOR QUEEN! I absolutely love and adore that album. Who remembers Son Dambi's promo cycle being completely derailed when the song was accused of plagirizing Kesha's Tik Tok? I eventually had to buy a foreign version of the album because Starship took it out of print in Korea. Wild times lol.

BGGG I absolutely hated at first. Could not get the hype. Then it grew on me for some reason? Its definitely fun.

Possibly my favourite 4Minute ear negl. I love this song and the rest of that mini. A very specific sound thats slightely dated at this point, but I still love it haha!

Yep it's one of those weeks where I remember ALL the songs. I was OBSESSED with I My Me Mine back then, one of my most played 4minute songs. BGGG is still a bop, great debut, great dance, great song.
