From heart poses to a sweet morning call, Yim Si-wan, Shin Sae-kyeong, Choi Soo-young, and Kang Tae-oh seem to have a knack for picking out mission blocks! Watch the RUN ON stars become the first team to complete the most Jenga missions. Lucky for us, unlucky for them 😉

just started watching this drama and I'm not sure if I'm liking it so far. I like Sooyoung's character and the interactions between the 4 characters, but the love story isn't really engaging me so far

I just finished it the other day. I thought it was good, but different. I agree the love story isn't anything special, but I was intrigued by what an oddball Im Si Wan's character is lol. It is definitely more about the interactions between the characters and slice of life-y.

I'm left with the last episode, and I'm really not watching for the love story haha. I love the snippets of interactions between the various characters in the show, it's heartwarming yet painful (especially for the "peasants"). I don't really like Si Wan's character though, not sure if it's because the way they wrote him or the way he is acted out (my first time watching him act)

This is the first time I've watched Si wan act too, so I can't really comment on that either. Let's just go with that's how he's written. His character is pretty odd and far from the traditional male lead. He is kind of endearing though. He also seems to be a bit stunted when it comes to emotional and social skills. I did watch an interview or two of him and Shin Se Kyung promoting the drama and he does seem to be a bit of an oddball IRL too lol.

Sooyoung's character was a hoot, albeit at times I thought she overacted a bit? Her character obviously had some social issues too lol. I will say I am glad I watched the drama because I absolutely LOVE the OST by 2F. When the song started playing when Mi Joo and Sun Kyeom were on the bridge by the lighthouse? Such a beautiful scene. Gave me the feels. Hahah.

you should watch it i really liked it! like the comment above yours i get because the two main leads honestly have more platonic chemistry than super romantic chemistry but all the characters are great individually (except maybe sooyoung who isnt likeable at the beginning but the show addresses it as it goes on) and its slow but in a calming way not a boring way

I agree. I just finished watching it the other day. It is a slower type of drama, but I didn't find it boring. I enjoyed it enough and it's pretty low commitment. I didn't really care for Dan Ah/Yeong Hwa's relationship, although Sooyoung did impress me with her crying. I felt like they kind of shoved that relationship to the side and it was really underdeveloped. Also didn't like how they tried to make the dad likeable at the end. He was a shitty person and father. We're supposed to feel bad for him now that he lost his election and retired?? Nopeeeeeeee.

i didnt mind the danah/yeonghwa relationship because i felt they still recognised that it wasn't exactly healthy especially at the beginning but you're right about it being underdeveloped its one of those relationships built on the man just finding the woman super beautiful at the beginning as the basis of the whole relationship which is never my favourite. although now im thinking about it i mainly just enjoyed yeonghwa as a character and he wouldnt have been in the drama much without being the second romantic male lead so maybe im basing my feelings about their relationship around getting to see his character more rather than actually enjoying their interactions.

and agreed on the father he's not redeemable at all. i did enjoy what they did with their mother trying to be more of a parent and realising late in life when her children were grown that she wasnt a great parent but the dad was actively awful/abusive rather than neglectful so i didnt want to sympathise with him at all and the fact that it was basically the last scene of the drama? it didnt feel right.

Yeah, I just didn't really feel much for their relationship since it was so underdeveloped. I like them as characters, but I just didn't buy their feelings for each other.

I am glad the mom finally stood up for her kids! I also wanted to see Dan Ah takedown her ass of a brother. Would have liked to see her kick him again. Hahah. It was cute and fitting how they had everyone gather at a theatre together at the end, but I was definitely confused for a split second when the credits started rolling and they showed BTS photos. I was like wait what??? lol

I also wanted to see Dan Ah takedown her ass of a brother yeah i thought it was odd they built up a lot of the story around her family but the conclusion was very abrupt or something? it would have been nice to have a moment with her taking the awful bro down but even with the idol brother it was resolved in about 10 seconds that she thinks of him like family now?

agreed, i thought it was nice for the final scene to be in a cinema but the ending was a bit sudden lol i think they tried to do a bit too much in the final episode things werent fleshed out well enough which is why when it ended it was a bit like oh thats it? but it didnt ruin my enjoyment of it either. to be fair though i have quite low expectations for final episodes in general i rarely think they're really good.

Yeah, Dan Ah's story in general was very underdeveloped. And her dad dying was such a cop out. LOL yes about the idol brother. She was more or less like "give me your shares/support and I'll consider you my brother." But I will say that they tried to show us that she was purposefully acting like she hated his guts and kind of felt bad for him sometimes?? So she did care for him somewhat..but she didn't want to show it (maybe because it would be a sign of weakness and it could be used against her?). IDK that's just my take on things.

Also, this is SUPER random, but those blue converses were a NO. lol I was like why that color??????? and the painting with Dan Ah's drawn in it? So cheesyyyyy lol.

oh no i agree they did show danah was obviously trying to be mean to him and didnt necessarily feel that badly about him throughout i just thought her admitting it suddenly felt too easy or something but i guess they were trying to show that she'd grown emotionally — but all that was rushed too like i know in the timeline of the characters her and yeonghwa werent together for a while but as a viewer it felt like they'd been broken up for like 20 mins so it lacked impact.

the painting!!! i can excuse the shoes like yeonghwa is not a fashion man i think its realistic he buys her an ugly shade of converse but the painting was sooooo bad. i was really glad i happened to see screencaps of it before i actually watched the episode if i had seen that painting for the first time while watching the episode i would have died from laughter it was hideous. like i thought the point of yeonghwas paintings was that they were quite abstract and then suddenly its just her face it was too shocking lol

lol yess. Also their breakup lacked impact because a few scenes later they're just hanging out together drinking beer with Mijoo and Sungyeom??? I was like umm?????? and then they kept meeting soooooo. Maybe now that she's VP she's like eff it I can meet anyone I want now. Shrug. Since her daring a college student would have probably affected her chances of becoming VP? IDK. Trying to make sense of this the best I can lol.

I seriously ugly laughed when I saw the painting. I bet Sooyoung had trouble acting out that scene and faking being so touched by it. I thought it was pretty out of character for Dan Ah too when she was like "I see love in this painting" or whatever. AND Yeonghwa thought she would hang that in the museum? LOL. Brooo. I'd want a refund and would have canceled the contract. The second painting he did was not as bad...but still lol.

She had a lot of great outfits in this drama. She's one of the few soshi girls I follow on IG. I love how sassy and funny she is.
