Singer and actor Park Hyung-sik has completed serving his 19-month mandatory military service and is gearing up for his return to the screen.
The actor's agency UAA announced Monday that he has been officially discharged, without having to return to his military base from his final leave due to COVID-19 concerns.
"Park is reviewing scripts of films and TV shows he has been offered and will choose one for his comeback," the agency said.
The actor enlisted in June 2019 and was deployed with the Army's Capital Defense Command, a unit responsible for defending Seoul.
Park debuted as a member of K-pop boy band ZE:A in 2010 with the album "Nativity." The nine-member group has since released several hit songs, including "Aftereffect" (2012) and "The Ghost Of Wind" (2013)
He made his way into acting with a role in the TV series "Dummy Mommy" in 2012. He has starred in several movies and TV series, such as the Korean adaptation of popular legal series "Suits" and the comedy "Strong Girl Bong-soon."
His last work before enlistment was the film "Juror 8" (2018) about a group of jurors seeking the truth in a murder case during the country's first jury trial in 2008.
