The "2020 Asia Artist Awards" were held on November 28 without an audience due to COVID-19.
Started in 2016 and returning for its 5th annual ceremony this year, the "Asia Artist Awards" recognizes Asian stars not only in the music industry but in film, dramas, variety, and more.

the word daesang really doesn't mean much in these zero criteria award shows (you show up you get an award, even if we run out of words and can only give you Best Emotive or some weird shit) but good for everyone. I'm shocked they gave one to BTS despite BTS paying them dust. They are probbaly scarred by the army uproar last year. I'm guessing they'll invent 2 more "daesangs" so they can appease blinks too next year. What else "of the year" can you hand out?

also what happened to the Fabulous award, that was my favourite!

I would also like to point that they have Best Artist (Actor), Best Actor and Best Acting awards. Which is hilarious to me for some reason.

Yeah, i mean, being completely objective BTS should have won everything and the fact that NCT 2020 won as aoty is laughable, the songs made no noise, yeah it sold a lot but besides that?? Even in YT views it lost steam , zero hits, and yeah, i know technically award shows are quality over quantity so the lack of hits shouldn't matter but from what I've seen Kshows rely a lot on sales , digitals, popularity, etc, so again, i don't get it

But also award show wise I only care about the Emmy's so congratulations to the winners.

i do complain a lot about the Emmy's lmao , but that's mostly because of GoT, GoT didn't deserve shit, post GoT era has been great besides a few mistakes (Billy Crudup over Matthew Macfadyen , for example )

I thought he was quite good in A Stray Goat and did get good feedback afaik. Since then he's been in some supporting roles in dramas like Legend Of The Blue Sea and When My Love Blooms and had the main role in He Is Pshycometric last year (and the iirc the writer for that one actually sought out him for the role bc she thought he fitted the role well). He's also starring in a spy/action movie coming out next year I think.

I think he's done good with starting with side roles to build his resume and moved up to bigger roles naturally and by good rep.

Oh and there's some talk JYPE isn't really taking advantage of his skills and "blocking" some moves, but idk for sure what the situation with that is tbh.

Okay so I'm a fan and I post about them here, but I'm not that invested in their careers that I know Everything, but afaik none of the boys have alluded to not renewing (yet?), and there's been no talk about it yet. The contract renewal drama is imo mostly about the treatment by the company being subpar in the fans' opinion (and anyone's with eyes & a brain) and continues getting worse with each comeback so fans don't want them to continue with JYPE bc of this.

Also many of the members have more than one job/career, so they're financially stable without being under JYPE. The foreigners make bank in their homelands (tho not sure about Mark but I'm sure even he's doing fine in China), Youngjae has a radio show and some acting gig coming up, plus he produces, JB has his own producing crew outside of JYPE, and Jinyoung has acting and cf's. Yugyeom I don't know what he does tbh, he does some producing as well and dancing but idk has that lead to anything concrete yet.

Honestly idk what to make of their situation, so I'll react to it once they actually renew or not renew🤷🏻♀️

So much uproar for charity or attendance awards that supposedly don’t matter lol. I get it, being snubbed for anything sucks, but if it doesn’t matter so much, why are people so in their feelings about it? Jfc, let smaller, lesser known groups win for once!
