Ok tell me why J Hope is the 2nd best singer in the group?! He sounds great! Esp for a rapper who is singing. He continues to be my fave BTS member even tho he gets no screentime lol
lol op you don't have to do anything if his voice is lovely to you :) but i do think that his voice has changed a lot, i think around wings, and sounds a lot more strained and pitchy than it did in earlier songs

I'm also highly uncomfortable with the song itself. I do understand that it's meant to help people (mostly fan) go through this crazy difficult time. And I do kn ow it's teh intent behind the songn and behind their speech at their speech at the 75th UN General Assembly.
But I'm also very wary of celebs, whose lifes have not really been affected by the current situation playing the "covid card" and cashing on such display. So unless proceeds from this song are given to organization helping people who have been hit by the current event (Is that the case? That would be great), it's a no for me.Again, I know this will bring comfort to a lot of people who love BTS, and that is great. But I do hate the fact that a huge company will cash in on this.

i'm not sure if any of the proceeds of the song goes to a good cause, i don't think so tbh. i actually agree with your point, looking from that perspective, the optics are not great (understatement). in general bts position (as one of) the biggest groups in kpop while still trying to maintain and stress an underdog status does not work for them anymore and can become quite problematic, especially with clear capitalistic aims of their companies
Like I said on ONTD, it's certainly not the Spring Day I was hoping it would be, but it's easy listening. Certainly not my fave from them, but it's a chill song. Something to listen to on a rainy day, it's a grower. Also, I commend them for actually having a more or less even line distribution, it's been a while. The harmonization sounds a little garbled with the layering of voices but I don't actually hate it.
Bless them for making Taehyung's beautiful face the first thing I saw in this MV, he has no bad angles! 😍

Okay, so I've listened to the album now. LGO is the weakest track for me even though it's easy listening, I like it but not as much as the others. I don't care much for Fly Me to My Room but it's a cute bop. Blue&Grey, Telepathy, Disease and Stay are my faves by far. Whew, they served us some bops! They better perform Telepathy cuz it is such a cute bop - gives me Go Go vibes. Though I can see them doing Disease as well, it sounds very cheeky and would be fun to perform too. Stay low key reminds me of Moon - must be why I like it so much, because I like Moon a lot. Overall, I'd say it's a pretty solid album - but it really should have had more songs, especially for how expensive it is.

No doubt it will bring comfort to many of their fans and good for them :) I personally go to music for escapism and I'm not ready for the pandemic to be the topic of my music 😂 especially coming from millionnaires who haven't been struggling like regular people. But I'm also not biased towards BTS, I'm sure if SNSD had came back of their slumber with this, I would be lying down in a puddle of tears lmao
Why do Big Hit insist on putting so much autotune and reverb on the vocals? It was the same for GFriend's Apple, I've checked TxT releases too and some of their tracks (mostly singles though?) are the same. I'm not against it but there's a balance needed
somebody send a truck to Bighit to tell them to lay off the damn processing. I'd be happy to fund that. They sound so much better without the mixing issues. Personally I blame PDogg for this now lol.
This feels like a very Korean song to me (?) compared to Dynamite which felt very international. Like this is the stuff K-soloists would do. Feels like B-side song and B-side MV too, but I'm guessing that's more or less intentional.

It's a cute and easy listen, but nothing groundbreaking. I still hate the vocal processing that they do always and it makes Jimin's voice unbearable for me (I feel like I only ever love or hate his voice in recordings, never in between....)

Yeah, I'm always on the fence with Jimin's voice. He sounded way off in Dynamite because of the autotune and the processing and here in Life Goes On he sounds strange as well. He has the kind of voice you either love or hate, there really is no in between. I'm not fond of nasally tones, so I'm usually not into his singing parts.

Awwwwww this got me in my feels! I think it’s nice and soothing and sweet and I thank the good lord it wasn’t as highly pitched as usual. And the mv giving me all those shots of taehyung’s face is an automatic sign that it’s perfect.
I’m a little confused with the gatekeeping happening here. We want more authentic music. We want musicians to acknowledge their feelings because it in turn encourages openness in others. Then when they say “I was sad when I couldn’t do this thing that brings me joy” it’s a no. It’s confusing because I don’t remember seeing this take when they sang the fluff that was dynamite but a song that actually taps into deeper feelings is not ok? And how is it cashing in on covid? I guess because bts and big hit will get richer? Would it be better if this was a free mixtape? More importantly, will they need to not sing about being sad or only release free music for the next 3 years to be able avoid that accusation? They donated to the live nation crew. Do they need to do it with every release as well?
But everyone is allowed to feel how they feel. And if it makes you uncomfortable that’s valid. I guess saying they’re cashing in is what confuses me because that implies they can’t sing about their valid feelings until covid is better controlled which let’s be honest is going to take years.

I like the song. Listening to it again without the MV made me HATE the auto tune that they use even though it’s less than previous songs. it’s definitely not Spring Day but I understand the intention of comfort and it did make me emotional because this year is terrible and anything to ease that has been welcome. It kind of feels like a goodbye for Jin tbh.

This sounds like it could be an IU title track imo, I like it and I'm guessing it could be a bit hit with the general public in korea (and after dynamite I think that would be a smart goal for them to have).
The autotune tho. It's surreal. Like, it sounds like Adora is singing in the chorus. And why autotune Yoongi so badly. Seriously, just why. We know what they sound like, it's very well documented. When you're not an amazing singer is better to focus on having a strong hold of how to better use what you actually do have. It's like they run in the opposite direction sometimes.
