I still don't vibe with it, damn it. I wanna stan! I wanna have the "holy shit this is DOOOPE" feelings I got when I heard Interlude:Shadow for the first time. Or the "i wanna DANCE!" feeling I get from some other songs like Idol or Airplane pt. 2. But this (and BWL) have been so underwhelming to me.
I wish the acoustic would've had even quieter music so their voices don't get drowned out (not saying it's bad but I feel like sometimes there're times when the music is just too loud). Also why couldn't we be spared the autotune even from the acoustic version?? like PLS. I like EDM a lot tbh but not enough to get through the song. :(((
Also every time I try to let it "grow on me" I get about a minute in before just going to Uptown Funk instead since some parts of the melody are kinda similar and I like Uptown Funk more.

The edm version is so bad and generic. it managed to make their voices even more unrecognizable. and where's jin? unless i can't distinguish his voice. i'm an angry stan
the acoustic version is fun but is it doesn't really feel like an acoustic version when it's just the same vocals (maybe in this version a little bit less processed?). these versions feel a bit cheap to me tbh. i'm getting a bit tired of these cash grabs
ugh unfortunately it's something they do more often. he has been getting the short end of the stick for years, unjustified imo because his singing has improved a lot and is often more stable than other members.
I’m embarrassed to admit how mad I am about them cutting Jin! Really? I mean... really? Who thought that’d be okay. I was already annoyed he (and rap line) was robbed in the mv.
Although even before I knew that Jin wasn’t in it, I didn’t get more than 30 seconds into the EDM remix. It is awful.
I like a fair bit of their recent music (although I have to say Ddaeng is probably my favourite recent release of theirs, followed by BWL so I’m a hip hop-inspired/pop equal opportunist!) but I do really miss rap line and, to be completely honest, less Jimin.
Before anyone who reads this comes at me - I don’t dislike a single member in BTS, and I’m actually hard pressed to pick a fave because I like them all so much. But they make Jimin sing so high so often that he can’t hit... any notes live anymore. Even notes in his range. I really wish they’d give him a break, lower the key of their songs, and let rap line take back some of the focus. (And let Jin sing. I know a lot of people don’t like his tone, but he’s good when given the right parts and he’s really consistent live.)
Jin sings really well, he has a little whine to his voice but it suits him I think. I absolutely adore "Jamais vu" with him, Jungkook and J-Hope, I hope we'll see more subunits songs in the new album.
Jimin is my fave but I agree with his high voice. Sometimes he sounds really good, other times he struggles and that makes him really self-conscious (him and Jungkook take it harder than the others when their voices crack live). I'm pretty sure he began to sing high when he was allowed to be more himself - more androgynous - and since then, they chose to make him stay in this high pitch range to suit his image. I have faith in their self-produced album as they all complain about how high their songs are, so I bet it'll be easier for them to sing the ones they all produce.
i feel like jimin always has gotten higher notes (he used to do a lot of great adlibs in their earlier stuff, he used to be my fave voice in bts because i loved how he could put emotion in his song) but i think he had a time where he overexerted his voice and he's still suffering from that, though it has become better. he needs to be supported with some good vocal training. i do like the analyses that he has embraced his androgynous side a bit more, i see that and i enjoy that!
i'm also eagerly awaiting their completely self-managed and produced album (hope it really will be self-produced!) with some yoongi produced songs because those end up to be my faves usually
I agree, I love Jin’s voice! Moon is my favourite song off of MOTS 7. And imo he’s very very consistent in concert.
I love Jimin’s tone (and I really like the thought of him embracing his androgyny) but I do think he damaged his vocal chords* because I don’t ever hear him sounding good live anymore... in the last two years I’ve seen BTS an embarrassing number of times in concert and every single time he sings he is noticeably struggling. :( I honestly feel really bad for him. It must be frustrating, and we know from behind the scenes footage that it clearly bothers him.
I’m also very excited for the self-produced album. I hope they actually got some more control over it rather than this being just for the image and promo of it.
*i am not a doctor or professional singer, just to be clear lol
are you me? although i would switch out bwl with black swan or a little bit older dna, but i'm definitely no bwl hater (though i prefer the halsey-free version)
of their recent music i mostly only like suga and hobi solos and rapline-only songs lol. though there are a few others like on, black swan, dionysus etc that i liked but ofc suga got screwed out of lines in on yet again. a Chinese fanbase made a chart of how little lines and screentime he gets compared to the rest and it's pretty bad. jin and hobi aren't far behind but suga's share is the worst.
I never really care much for Jin's voice until sometime after BST. Both he and Jimin have nasally tones and sound a bit grating at times. However, Epiphany is what had me doing a double take because it was hands down my fave intro by any of the BTS members. You can say that the song literally gave me an epiphany lol Jin's solo songs are also some of my fave BTS songs.
His vocals are so underappreciated. People always praise Jimin and Jungkook's vocals but Jin is pretty stable as well, I'd say they're honestly on the same level vocally and they're all tenors. Once they stay in their range, they sound fine...Unfortunately, more often than not these days, they sing songs that are out of their range and end up straining.
I knew I was gonna hate the EDM version, so no surprises there. It's even worse that they cut Jin and Hobi's parts. The acoustic version isn't actually acoustic, I was legit expecting a stripped version that would showcase the vocals more. Well, I still prefer the acoustic to the original at least.
