According to a police official on the 14th, iKON members Jinhwan and Junhoe's van skidded in the rain at 3:40am on the 1st lane national road in Changseon-myeon, Namhae-gun.

The driver, manager A and Kim Jinhwan and Koo Junhoe were treated at a nearby hospital for minor injuries. They reportedly got into an accident while driving a rented van.

At the time of the accident, manager A had a blood alcohol level of around .08 % or higher. The police booked A on charges of drunk driving and are considering whether to charge iKON members Jinhwan and Junhoe with aiding and abetting.

The case is currently under investigation.

They should be charged along with their driver for sure. When you get into a car, you are responsible not only for your own safety and that of others in the car, but other people participating in traffic too. Their driver should not have been behind the wheel, and if they weren't fit to drive either YG should have sorted something else out. No excuses.

Has no one figured out a discreet celebrity version of the driver that comes by and drives the client and their car to their destination? Or the company should at least hire/designate in-house employees to do it. There are services catered to things like this that regular citizens have access to...there should be no excuses at this point.

Hell, the managers can’t really be trusted to drive on a good day. There needs to be a backup!

I'm glad no one was hurt. Drunk drivers are a serious threats to themselves, the people in the car, and everyone else. They were "lucky" to slide into an inanimate object and not another car or people walking by. Were the passengers also drunk? why did they let manager take the wheel after drinking? do they not care about their own safety?
A company like YG has money to hire a designated driver...

my first thought was, if the manager was drunk...does that mean the two members were also drunk?

Who would be ok with a drunk person driving?

I mean, maybe they can't drive? I dont' know. I don't follow them. But still. You could call SOMEONE rather than risk your life and the lives of others.

another iKon member said once that they are not allowed by their contract with YG to get driving licenses.
setting aside how weird it is in itself, it's possible that they both couldn't - at least legally - drive.

I would rather a sober person illegally drive than a drunk person drive. But you know, I wasn't there so I don't know details.

Also, I guess it makes sense not wanting them to get licenses/drive. With so many idol car accidents (looking at you Daesung), it makes sense not to want idols to be driving off on their own till they are more established and their careers can take the hit (*cough*Daesung*cough*)

or - a crazy thought - just call a taxi!
although i don't know if they even have enough authority over their manager to 'overrule' his decision to drive. (it sounds kind of stupid but knowing how it is with social (or whatever) hierarchy in Korea i wouldn't be surprised.)

oh, i didn't think about the driving licences thing that way, but it actually makes sense.
before, i just always saw it as YG being tyrants, making sure their artists have as little freedom as possible, with no additional reasoning behind it.

taxi would definitely be good. Are they easy to get at 3 in the morning though? (note, I have never taken a taxi in my life so I really don't know) But yeah, Maybe manager was like "I can drive. hush your mouths and get in." I got no idea. I hope they rode in the car because they felt safe despite him being drunk rather than forcibly being driven.

I mean, YG is probably also a tyrant. haha!

Pay me. I'll go be your designated driver and pick up random idols at 3 in the morning.

A. I don't like boy groups
B. I don't like YG.
C. My driving record is good.

Therefore I wouldn't go ga-ga and freak out like a fan.

And this has been my resume to submit to be DD. Thank you.

the fact that their manager was drunk instead of doing his job is shameful and that the band members let him drive smh. this could have easily been another Ladies Code situation. they should be charged or they won't ever learn.

this group... sigh
I am glad no one got seriously injured but they need to pay for their actions (or lack there of) in this situation.

those pictures look scary! and to think that the passengers as well as outsiders could've gotten hurt or killed is even scarier. drunl drivers are selfish people who put everyone around them in danger so i hope he gets punished for what he did!

I don’t keep up much with this group but didn’t they kick a member out earlier this year? They going to kick these two out too?

Were they aware that their manager had been drinking? I haven't googled or read anything beyond what has been posted on Omona. If they had knowledge, they should have said something (but also social hierarchy has a big influence on their actions so idk if their manager would have listened anyways); but if they didn't, I don't think it's fair to put the responsibility on them.

It depends if they knew imo. Why the fuck was the manager drinking when its his job to drive celebs around? Seriously?

Also, I think IKOn is over. Too many controversies plus YG dungeon.. yike
