I'm officially lost. This Version seems so irrelevant to the three previous ones. The third one was too, if you compare it to the white/black swans of the first two versions, but at least you could theorize some things. I'm completely blank with this last version. It just looks like a normal photoshoot for a teen magazine or something.The photos are cute, but the theme is something we have definitely seen the boys do many times already.
There’s no deep abstract doctorate-level analysis for the picture or album. It’s just OT7. I have no doubt that others will claim otherwise.
Honestly, I still don’t get the whole Jungian theory / Renaissance motif for this whole album set. I understand it loosely but its conceptual execution seems like a bad NYU Gallatin School independent study project.
I think BigHit decided to play it safe with this Version, because I've read that K-ARMYs are more intrigued by this one than the others. Not that they dislike the first three, but the 4th one is more interesting to them.
Tbh, I was expecting something with crowns of thorns (remember that instagram post by quanteztothenextlevel some months ago with the caption "custom for BTS Crown of Thorns"?), and even more when I saw the 3rd Version with the Last Supper vibes. But alas. Although it seems understandable not to go with it, because it may have pissed some very religious people off.
The ot7 pic is the best one we’ve gotten. Many are speculating that these pics are hinting upcoming collabs for the new album... If so I can’t wait for that Namkook song.
I would die for that collab obviously but I have very little hope. Persona had a Jinkookhope song so if 7 is seen as a continuation of Persona, it's safe to assume these 3 won't be featured in any subunit songs on 7 ;_;
It’s bright enough that I can see their faces? It’s a win for me! Lol they’re really cute though. The camera still loves Taehyung. I think I like the 3rd version best overall because the lighting was better than the first 2 and it was visually arresting
