They’re due for two more albums. The next one will be MOTS Shadow, and the one after that MOTS Ego. They’ve dropped hints about these names and that’s how we know them- I don’t pay much attention to theories outside of that, so can’t link anything, but if you search persona shadow ego on twitter some things will come up!
This is me pulling something out of thin air, based on absolutely nothing, but I’m wondering if they’ll drop the album 24th Jan and then do their comeback stage at the Grammys on 27th Jan. I’ve mentioned on here before that I feel like they’re trying to one-up themselves with each cb and I wondered what they’d follow up SNL with, and the Grammys would certainly be a big one... I’m waiting to develop this thought further once noms are announced later this month. If they’re nominated... hmm.
I also think they’ll tour in 2020 around the same time they did in 2019, so spring into summer. Again, just me guessing!
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they’re nominated, and I would be very very surprised if they won. BTS are my ult, but MOTS Persona is not worthy of a win - but they’re gunning hard for any singular nom, and I won’t be surprised if they get it.
I don’t think a performance is out of reach tbh. They were invited last year, technically were nominated (arguable, but for the sake of this thought process), and the Grammys have allowed non-nominated material to be performed in the past. I’m old and my memory is shaky, but I think Cardi B performed her new single, which wasn’t a song on her nominated album, at this year’s show. (Bonus low-hanging diversity points for the Grammys, which we know is on their mind.)
smh BTS should just be exempted without scandal. I know prob some Korean men who had to serve won't like it but they need to get over themselves if they think their enlistment does more for their country than the economic benefits and cultural representation globally that BTS provides.
I totally agree they would never take it, they wouldn't want to because it wouldn't be worth the hassle/scandal. And if I were managing them I'd probably counsel them not to take an exemption.
But if I were in a position of power within the Government, I would offer them one because I think it's the right thing to do. Yes, Big Bang and TVXQ weren't offered exemptions, but they should have been imo. Just because government policy in the past was wrong on this issue, doesn't mean we should continue in those wrongful ways for future/present Kpop acts.
I think the justification for an exemption is through comparison to exempted Korean athletes. Korean Olympic medallists for example receive exemption. Athetic careers are short and they bring glory to Korea. But pop careers are also short and I think BTS has brought more "glory" to the country than whatever archer won silver for Korea at the last Olympics or whatever. Add in the economic benefits - how many BigHit employees (hopefully middle class jobs) are sustained by those 7 boys. Will young parents be out of jobs if BigHit downsizes a bit during enlistment? Just in terms of overall social benefits, I believe BTS, EXO, Seventeen, etc do more overall for Korea as exports frankly than as service members.
I mean it's all moot because they won't accept it lol but I think exemption would be the "right" thing to do. :)
Tbh, I don't believe this excuse. How damaged could his hair be to need to get cut this much and not just the tips to refresh it? I think he was forced to get it cut.
TBH I also don't really care for the excuse of damaged hair and lets be real, he's dyed his hair less than a lot of his contemporaries. but i do believe the it's becoming hard to control part because as someone who also has messy wavy hair, you either need short hair or you need super long hair for it not to be a real nuisance. I think once it went past his ears, it just became too wild to control and too difficult to style. i think if he had another month to grow it out, he would'b been in a much better place because it would've been long enough to tie up and styled that way.
Right, he had his hair bleached and dyed bright pink, and he didn't need to cut it extremely short after it, because of damaging, so I'm really not buying the 'damaged' part.
I do agree with the part that's hard to control and especially during the stage it was before he cut it. It was the awkward and annoying length that gets in your eyes and it's difficult to stay behind your ears. I had the same trouble while waiting for my bangs to lengthen.
But the timing with the scandal and having his hair cut just before the Seoul concerts make me suspicious. Obviously I may be wrong, but considering how controlling some fans are about their faves' appearance, his being forced to having his hair cut in order to please these people doesn't seem to far-fetched to me.
no, totally. I'm sure part of the reason he cut is is because people got so mad about it. I feel bad that their image is so tightly controlled because he clearly has an image of how he wants to portray himself but it seems to go against what some of the fans like.
(i kind of wonder if the company knew about him getting his tattoos because they're somewhat trying hard to cover it up but how do you hide hand tattoos lol!)
I feel like he's going into his rebellious phase but he's such a people pleaser at baseline it prob won't get too wild lol.
lmao, I died a little tbh. Every stylist on this planet should be taught during Hairdressing 101 that mullets should stay where they belong - which is the deepest ends of the 80's.
