“Madam Jung” denies Yang Hyun Suk mediated prostitution services

The police have provided an update on the allegations against Yang Hyun Suk regarding prostitution mediation.

Last month, MBC’s investigative journalism program “Straight” aired an episode about Yang Hyun Suk’s alleged involvement in soliciting prostitutes. In July 2014, Yang Hyun Suk and PSY reportedly met with wealthy Southeast Asian investors at an upscale restaurant in Gangnam, and around 10 adult entertainment workers were brought to the dinner by a woman referred to as Madam Jung. The report stated that sexual services were provided to these foreign investors.

On June 18, Yonhap News reported that the Provincial Special Detective Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency recently called in Madam Jung for witness questioning. Madam Jung reportedly admitted that a number of women had attended the dinner, but she denied that prostitution had taken place.

The police are looking into the identities of the women that were brought to the dinner and whether or not they had provided sexual services in exchange for compensation.

The statute of limitations, which defines the time period within which prosecution must begin for a case, leaves approximately a month of time for this case to be investigated. Regarding this, the police stated, “The statute of limitations is something to be discussed in the future. First, we must confirm the facts. The priority is to quickly confirm the facts that were reported in the media.”

Police Commissioner promises to investigate YG Entertainment after learning from Burning Sun

On June 17, Commissioner General Min Gap Ryong of the Korean National Police Agency gave a speech at a press conference about the recent drug-related issues surrounding YG Entertainment.

The Commissioner stated, “We will thoroughly investigate the suspicions that were raised by forming an exclusive team that will be headed by the director of the detective division at Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency. We learned a lesson while investigating Burning Sun. By fully utilizing the knowledge we gained through previous drug cases and other similar cases, we will conduct an exhaustive investigation to resolve all of the suspicions raised by the public.”

Asked about the possibility of conducting an investigation on Yang Hyun Suk, the Commissioner responded, “We cannot disclose details about the investigation.”

YG Entertainment is currently being suspected of covering up a drug case surrounding B.I. and an individual referred to as “A” in 2016. “A” was later revealed to be Han Seo Hee, and she claimed that Yang Hyun Suk interfered in the case by threatening her to change her testimony and making deals with the police. Yang Hyun Suk then issued an official statement and stepped down from his position at YG.

Prosecution and police explain reason for lack of action on 2016 drug case involving B.I

The prosecutor’s office presented an explanation as to why the 2016 case involving B.I and “A” was not investigated further.

A recent report from KBS’s “9 O’Clock News” revealed that the police had forwarded an investigative report on B.I at the time of the case, raising questions about why the prosecution did not continue to investigate the case after receiving the report.

At a press conference that was held on June 18, second deputy director Lee Soo Kwon of Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office stated, “At the time, the police only forwarded the case about ‘A,’ who exchanged KakaoTalk messages with [B.I] that suggested the purchase of drugs. [B.I] was not a target of investigation. The prosecution questioned ‘A’ once, but the questioning did not proceed smoothly because she was crying continuously. [B.I] was not mentioned during the questioning.”

Second deputy director Lee Soo Kwon added that they had received from the police a two-page internal investigation report that mentioned B.I’s name. The prosecution understood this to mean that the police were conducting an internal investigation and did not carry out a separate investigation on their part.

The police state that because “A” testified in her third investigation that she did not deliver any drugs to B.I, they deemed the suspicions on B.I invalid and closed the internal investigation.

Whut? Real world scenario...when someone's statement changes every time I talk to them, all the more I get curious and wont stop asking (or investigating) til I find out what's true. Isn't that whats they're supposed to think about her actions?

Other articles are just blah blah blah blah blah

So why are fictional drama detectives able to follow their hunch and actually do their jobs better than real police officers and prosecutors. Lol. Do the police and prosecutors need a template for meeting notes so that everyone knows what next steps are? How can there be this much "miscommunication"? This is so ridiculous
