I actually ignored Big Bang for the longest time, it wasn’t until Made series came out and I liked the songs and really started liking him as an artist. Part of me wishes I just had kept ignoring them

Only his fans want him, and although he can make a living off of them, the drugs, preferential treatment, and the association with GD (preferential army treatment) and Seungshit pretty much make him unwanted in the indursty. Although I've read stuff about the public not really caring about these issues in Korea.

GD wrote very obvious lyrics about Seungri's "friends" in his last album in the song Middle Fingers Up(?). I think.

And TOP publicly complained about Seungri's business associates on Radio Star.

I'm not sure if Taeyang or Daesung said anything specifically, but they may be the members who are more on the side of keeping quietly and to themselves.

In hindsight I wonder if they were complaining that much in public in order to save their own behinds when everything eventually blew up. There's footage of them behind the scenes at concerts where GD was berating Seungri for not inviting the members to his big birthday bash.

My years in Kpop have thought me to be pessimistic about how easily male celebrities have their missteps forgiven and forgotten, so I assume he will be back. That said, TOP was always less eager about the spotlight than his bandmates, so maybe he's just gonna 'retire' unofficially and just live his rich life out of the spotlight.

I think he's been wanting out for a long time tbh. He's probably one of the members who talked about quitting the most in interviews. Even back in 2008 there were reports of idol life taking a toll on his mental health and he never seemed to deal with the spotlight well considering his personality. GD has complained about idol life and its demons but he seems to be more social and enjoys performing.

Considering shes had multiple drug charges that her rich family has gotten her out of, Id say it was fair game. she ratted him out right before he went to the military knowing full well what might happen to him. They are on equal ground in my eyes. Also considering she got out of her drug charges scot free as always, I'm finding it hard to drum up sympathy for her when he basically did the same thing she did to save her ass

Just wanted to chime in to say that I'm agreeing with everything you say. People don't want to admit that men regularly abuse their power at the expense of women. Yeah even if everything's fair in "love and war" (and legal battles) that doesn't mean that systemic oppression and privilege isn't at play here too.
