OMONA EXCLUSIVE: 190511 BTS @ SOLDIER FIELD DAY ONE - A FAN EXPERIENCE

also, don't mind my voice and singing the videos. just a fangirl having some fun.

one week ago, the BFF and I traveled to Chicago to see BTS at Solder Field for the Love Yourself: Speak Yourself World Tour. this would be our second time seeing BTS Live in Concert (EP III WINGS), but our first time at Soldier Field. side note: we are both football fans, and love the Green Bay Packers. we were headed to enemy territory. Soldier Field is one of the oldest football stadiums in the US and i was super pumped to go there in the first place. anyways, so we got into chicago about 3pm friday - we wanted to take an extra day just to rest, relax and possibly do some sightseeing. waited an hour in traffic, but when we got to our hotel, we were amazed by what we saw inside.

the staff were wearing BTS shirts, photos in the lobby and they even had a photo area with all the member's photos. this was the concierge's desk.

after we got settled in our hotel room, we ventured out to see Soldier Field and get merch. YES I GOT MERCH THIS TIME. i was so happy about that. i now realize that i did not take a pic of all my merch... hold on...

i got the shopper bag, film strip long sleeve, the shirt with the tour dates and there was a special shirt (Blue BTS Logo) specifically for Chicago, and the Jimin keychain from the Merch stand.

the stadium outside was amazing. they had the uno cards and mattel dolls on display at a booth, a ARMY Bomb syncing station, BTS Studio (we did not get tickets for that) and lots of photo ops with banners and screens.

CONCERT DAY!

we got up and were going to go to The Bean in Millennium Park and take photos and check out the BTS Pop Up Store. after we parked we walked over to the pop up store which opened at 10am - we got there right when it opened, the line was literally around the block. we waited 2.5 hours in the cold for this.

we didn't make it to the bean. our parking ran out and were cold, so we went back to the hotel to eat and get warm! it also started to RAIN as soon as we got back to the hotel, after we ate and got ready with our ponchos. we ventured out to the stadium to get inside.

TIME FOR THE SHOW!

after standing the light rain and wind for 1.5 hours, we got to our seats. our seats were amazing, minus the one sound tower that was clearly in our way of the outer stage.

most my photos did not turn out well this time. i think it might have been the auto focus. so here's goes nothing.

i'd like to thank the huge giant screens. that was the only ot7 photo that i have.

they said they'd be back next year! i'm hoping if they do come back next year and it's in Minneapolis, i want to be there. they put on a great show. i felt bad that they had to perform in the freezing cold. they peformed day two in the rain, those poor boys. the show must go on, rain or shine or freaking freezing cold temps!

This is so cute! I’m happy you had a great experience again! I’m sad I couldn’t go but I when I do go I never stay in hotels so it was cool to see the staff and hotel wearing merch! But it’s crazy how the weather decided to go super cold weekend but for the fancams I’ve seen it looked like bts had a fun time. That giant bouncy slide looked lit. How was the pop up shop? I wanted to go but I can’t stand super crowded stores 😩

Also I don’t care for sports but I gotta do the obligatory Go Bears!

the pop up shop was amazing, but super crowded. that's why i didn't film more. when we got in, we filled out a order form for what we wanted to purchase and then they gave us pagers. when the order was ready they would vibrate and our number would be called to pick up and check out. it was a pretty small space in Chicago, the other video for LA and NJ, the space is so much bigger!

i forgot to mention, that when we left the pop up shop the line was around the block almost to the store itself! crazy.

I'm happy you had a good time despite the weather. At least they move and dance so they can get warm, but the audience just stays there fighting the cold and rain, which sucks.

All I remember from the Born This Way Ball is how effing cold it was.

i left my home in the cold for warmer weather and it felt like i never left home! lol. i don't think it got warmer when they danced. lol. my jumping up and down and adrenaline didn't even help!

I was there for day 2, I was soooo glad I got the 200 level seats that were under the overhang, I stayed dry and I felt kind of sorry for the field level people. I didn't even try to do the popup shop or anything else like that - the crowds were wild!

I stayed in the same hotel for day 2! (Really nice hotel but I thought the food was a bit meh.) The reception staff with their BTS shirts was too cute! I wonder if any other hotels in the area did anything like that.

I was on the floor for the concert and I didn't mind the cold but the rain was definitely a bummer. Had to keep wiping my glasses with my wet clothing which was not super effective 😒 And the fact that the rain only let up once the concert was over aoiewjoafw damn you Chicago! Definitely still worth it though. And definitely very memorable!

that hotel was so fan orientated, they were prepared. definitely will be booking with them again, in the future!
we ate at the asian restaurant for dinner before the show, it was okay. i only ate half of my dinner, since they put too much sriracha in it. ooh spicy. the breakfast i had at the market the next morning was pretty good.


i felt so bad for all the day two attendees. such brutal weather! i agree it was memorable and i'd do it again in a heartbeat!

i'm pretty sure they knew the event was happening and wanted to make fans welcome and excited to be there. not sure about other hotels, but this is the 1st hotel i've stayed at that made this concert very memorable.

wow, what an experience! so happy for you! Hopefully I'll get to experience this one day too. Maybe I will (after selling a kidney), but with enlisting it probably won't be OT7 (unless the Korean government steps in and actually forbids them from enlisting)

I was floor for both days in Chicago. I was super close to the stage for day 2. For the ending ment lol Tae would turn around and ask us if we were cold we would all yell no but as soon as he would turn back around we all went back to shivering. Day 2 was hell in terms of weather. I wore a pair of leggings underneath my jeans, 2 pairs of socks, 2 shirts, a sweater AND a rain jacket and I was still freezing and wet. I had so much fun though. As someone who went to Rosebowl too Chicago was def more fun and memorable.

It was fun to see how everyone went wild when we realized txt were there. Op you’re brave for going to the pop up store and lining up for merch at the event too!

i watched some livestreams of day two and i felt so bad for everyone who was there, even the boys, peforming in that brutal weather.

i didn't even know who we were screaming at, until i went on twitter. it was so cute! i was on the other side of the stadium and couldn't really see who it was.

for the pop up store: we almost said screw it and left, but then we'd be like we should have stayed. we were talking to everyone in line and cheering whenever we moved. then when random people stopped and asked what we were waiting for, was quite funny. kept us entertained.

My fingers were already frozen before the show started. I felt really bad for the boys though, at least we had jackets and coats. All they had were their stage outfits. I passed the line on my way to the hotel. Lol my Uber thought everyone was in line for a concert. She was very surprised when I told her everyone was in line for the pop store. I think everyone at first thought it was bts waving at us. It took me a whole 3 minutes to realize it was txt lol.

I have never seen something like this before! It was nice that the hotel did this.

I'm sorry the weather was so bad! lol not going to lie, this was the first thing I thought when I saw people were trying to get BTSxFlorida trending a few days ago. It's rainy and hot six months out of the year here, so if we have a stadium show I'd like it be November through April so the weather is nice. May through October... it needs to be indoors 😂
