It’s Friday! Every week I go through the charts for this day in the past and post the top three songs. Then I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, let’s go back 4 years to the 1st week of May, 2015. I haven’t seen most of these in a while, so they’re feeling brand new today lol. Everyone is looking real good this week too.


#3 Miss A “Only You”
I remember I didn’t like the video at all. I thought the pervy voyeur part was unnecessary, and didn’t really like the choreography. But the ladies look great! Suzy with long hair and hoop earrings ugh so pretty I cannot deal! This would end up being the group’s last release before disbandment.

#2 EXID “Ah Yeah”
LE please be my girlfriend. They all look so hot, and I think the song is still fun! This was their follow up single to “Up & Down”, and was released when the group’s popularity really started to rise. It came out at a really good time for them.

#1 EXO “Call Me Baby”
I don’t think I’ve ever seen the video before, but I do remember the song. There’s more pelvic thrusts and crotch grabbing than I expected but okay then. Google also tells me that this was the last song that Tao participated in.

#6 Red Velvet “Ice Cream Cake”
I still remember when pictures of the MV filming leaked out and everyone was all confused like “why are there 5 girls?” lol. About a month later SM would officially announce Yeri joining the group. I think that first shot of the five of them together in the room along with the “la la la la” part of the song is still creepy to me lol.

#8 Davichi featuring Mad Clown “Two Lovers”
What a douche. Does he not realize how freaking hot they are compared to his dumb ass? I could only dream of looking that cute whilst food tripping through Hong Kong! And he cannot pull off those hats at all. Anyways…the song! They pretty much always sound great, and sound so sweet here too. Apparently this is somewhat of a prequel to Soyu & Junggigo’s fantastic collab “Some”.

Call Me Baby is so much fun. It's one of their best title tracks.

I could never really get into Ice Cream Cake. I was too obsessed with Automatic.

CMB was the song that made me notice EXO. Their recent title tracks have been not quite up to par. The last one I liked was Monster.

the whole "ah yeah" mini is still excellent. i can't think of a song i don't like on there, lol.

i still don't like "only you" that much... "love song" and "i caught ya" are far superior imo. i did love the pink outfits in the mv though!

Only You is a song I like, but I don’t regularly listen to. I liked the MV in the past but I’m more critical of it now, and I have a hard time believing JYP would try this with their current girl groups. I think this song was soured because it was becoming Suzy ft Miss A amongst fans and I can see tension rising. But time has past and I’ve accepted not every group is going to be like Sistar and Rainbow in how close they are, and the song was a nice one to finish with.

Ah Yeah is a great song! Awesome follow up to Up and Down. Hyelin’s hair was rough though. I remember it getting a lot of criticism like Momoland is currently getting today, that the song sounded too similar to Up and Down. I get it but I’m also not mad at it

Call Me Baby is the first I acknowledged Exo’s existence lol

And ICC....eh lol. It’s prob one of my least favorite RV songs. The ‘lalala’s and the lyrics idk just not into it. I remember on ONTD (not sure I was reading here yet) people saying they were trying to look white with the all blonde and light contacts lol. Positive comment - I liked the university wear for their stages, it was fun and cute.

I love the CMB video, it totally shows them how I think of them, cute kids trying to act tough and get ladies. Like, some of the stuff where they have to look like ~fighters~ and stuff I can't really take seriously, but pulled up socks and hats askew? That's totally a 23 year old boy.

I can't believe only you was 4 years ago, wow... Its a good song but it would be even better if the lines were better distributed.

Call me Baby is one of EXO's best songs, the video is so much fun and blonde lay is a look, he looks so hot with it

cmb was so good, although I think I appreciate it more now than I did when it first came out. CMB era was when I finally decided to check out of kpop in favour of not failing uni but I kind of wish I stuck around for the hype

ICC was the first RV song I was exposed to and I absolutely hated it lol. I really was not on board with RV at the time and they felt so rushed as a group that I couldn't get into it at all. I still don't quite understand their hype now but I do enjoy their music a lot more.

CMB was one of the first kpop mvs i ever saw and idky but I thought it was like the best thing ever lol. Still legit think it’s one of the best boy band songs of all time.

Maybe cus everything was fresh to me but 2015 kpop >>>>. kpop bores me almost as much as western pop now. almost....

2015 kpop was an amazing year. I mention this once in awhile but 2013-14 were kinda weak for me, this was a period where I was listening to less kpop since even some of my faves weren’t delivering. Then 2015 comes in and then hit after hit was coming out! I’ve been pretty content with kpop as of late, but I’d love a year like 2015 again

lol I remember when everyone thought it was gonna be called ‘Call Me Daddy’ instead of ‘Call Me Baby‘ haha.
I really like CMB, but every time I watch the MV/s, I am reminded of how Tao had a bad injury yet was forced to do the dances.
Certainly nothing new in Kpop, but for some reason this MV reminds me of that fact more than usual/others.

‘Ah Yeah’ is still one of my favs from EXID – the part at the end when they smile & do the ;P / 😜 face is one of my fav parts.

Not a fan of ‘Only You’ & Imma leave it at that.

I have a soft spot for ‘Ice Cream Cake’ since one of the girls wore a sweater with my alma mater during a performance, which was (& still is, tbqh) just awesome, haha. 😄

I think after Ah Yeah was when I really started paying attention to EXID :3

This was a good week! I really liked Only you when it came out -- it was fun and lively and i always appreciated Suzy carrying just about half the song herself. The whole album was good

Irenes rap in ICC is still one of my faves & i always like the original choreo during that part
