BTS Perform at BBMAS And Win Two Awards

BTS performed their new hit song "Boy With Luv" at the BBMAS together with Halsey and took home two awards - Top Social Artist (for the third year in the row) and Top Duo / Group.

I went to bed thinking they'd win for top social but that imagine dargons would get top group. I was as shocked as them when I woke up and got caught up. This was like that first daesang win again

Congratulations to BTS and Panic! at the Disco for going home with two awards each! 🎉🎉 I honestly didn’t expect them to win Top Duo/Group. I was very surprised.
Although, I’m devastated there’s apparently no photo of BTS with Brendon. The only interaction I was really looking forward to, gdi. (Still praying for a collab. 🙏)

On another note, it’s really amazing how far they’ve come and how quickly. And, for me at least, really, really scary. The pressure and burden on their shoulders must be pretty heavy. I wonder how higher they can get. A Grammy perhaps. But still, how much higher. And how military service will come into play.

Also, if/how this will affect the future of kpop in the west/US. Or will people and media continue to be racist/xenophobic/etc towards kpop acts, even more if they aren't BTS, because even them aren't 100% immune to it?

no that's not true
they're clearly the biggest boygroup right now, period. At some point it was Exo, at some point it'll be someone else, that's the cycle of K-Pop.

They arent more popular but their domestic fanbase actually expanded after their international fanbase got really big. BTS  at first was way better received internationally than say in Korea.

I screamed!!!!!!!!!!!! I figured they had a zero percent chance of winning top group. So ecstatic I was wrong. I’m so unbelievably happy for them! What BTS and army have been able to do is mind boggling! And that was hands down the best performance of BWL I’ve seen thus far - they owned that’s stage like they were meant to be there.

...anyway, BTS did that, paved the way, etc. They looked great, Halsey looked great in their performance, Jimin and Hobi in sunglasses was the highlight, love Taehyung’s look this black hair + haircut was what we deserved during LY:T, loved the pics with Tori Kelly, Khalid and Ciara and her son, Drake is ew but Korean men have poor taste what is new.

I’m so happy and proud of them <33333 Jungkook jumping up and down after they were announced as the winners was so endearing. I’m excited for the Bangtan bomb. The performance was so good. They must have been so nervous.

Bighit or Columbia need to upload the official performance. Every other artist from that night already did.

I said this before and will say it again: this performance was not good, not rehearsed enough with Halsey, she had no idea what she was doing (she's not a performer) and the boys looked confused about what do with her and they seemed not energetic at all, but it's just my opinion and the media is eating it up anyway.

On the other hand, they were super happy, they won, they had fun and enjoyed themselves and that's what matters.

I will forever erase the fact that they took a picture with the pos that is Cardi B's partner.

I’m so incredibly happy for them. They (and everyone else) was genuinely shocked and their expressions were priceless. NJ’s acceptance speech was the perfect response too. It made me feel all sorts of warm and fuzzy inside like they really are appreciative of their fans, what is happening to them, and will enjoy this ride for as long as they are able to while still staying grounded. That performance too really reflected this. They looked comfortable like they’re just really enjoying the moment of being able to do what they do.

I enjoyed their performance.
While it wasn't up to their usual standards at least Jimin sounded decent for once.
Plus while it really showed that they did not rehearse enough and that Halsey probably needed some more coaching on choreo, what they did end up showcasing was cute af.
Why Halsey needed a change of outfits is beyond me but it was all quirky and fun and it worked.
It was a great showcase of their potential to sing into the hearts of all the stans so I can't fault them for that.
Them winning for Top Duo/Group is AH-MAZING~
That is one for the history books.

I love seeing them at american awards shows, they seem so much more relaxed and happy to be there than other shows. Their joy is infectious

Having Halsey dance with them was a choice :p they should've just done it on their own and have her come in and not dance. That being said the guys sounded much better than they have been. I liked it!

And if there's such a difference between how they react at US shows and how they react at K shows can you imagine how big of a difference the female idols reaction would have been? It honestly pains me to see them always sit and stand in the exact same Stepford wives way. Anyway, I'm more interested in the BTS reaction to other artists at the BBMAs videos than their actual performance tbh.

I wish Halsey's outfits made her stand out a little more from the guys - I get that she was supposed to look like part of the group for this performance, but I love that in the video she suddenly appears like this bright, sparkly pink fairy and you can't take your eyes off of her.

Seeing them win the top group award was fun. I'm happy for them.

Anyways my take on their collabs or wefies.... Honestly i dont care. I feel like all of American celebs are jerkies to everyone and nobody is innocent, i only care about what bts is achieving and the big names they're gonna get support from. It may come out as an ignorance, but that's what it is. This is why people should never make celebrities as a god, it's dangerous to put our happiness on someone else's hands.

Also anyway never liked cardi b, and the weird ass partner. Why is she still with him tho? Like there's no other man?

I actually think the performance was good? The boys looked much more relaxed and comfortable compared to the DNA performance when they were nervous af.
Halsey tho... I still don't know why the collaborated with her, she adds nothing to the song, it's even worse live.

lmao I fell asleep shortly after the red carpet (it was like 2 am here) and woke up with a start to check their performance before I had to leave for work so I'm definitely too tired to leave a big articulate comment. ngl I hoped against hope that they'd get that top group award but I couldn't bring myself to really believe it could happen so I had to do a double check when the first picture I saw after waking up was of them with TWO trophies! I'm super super proud and happy. They looked so happy too.

I really liked the performance. The parts with Halsey felt a little rushed but the boys sounded good and looked good and everyone's energy was really contagious! Jungkook looked like a prince the whole night <333

I enjoyed the performance and I do agree that they probably should of come in one day earlier to practice with Halsey but with that being said I think they pulled it off really well with the amount of time they had to practice.

The stage was cute and they looked like they were all having fun. I still enjoy the song. Still have to buy the album!
