Oh cool.

I was at an NBA basketball game (in the U.S.) last night and the arena played Idol during one of the time outs. I was like "...what" lol. I only go to 1-2 games per season so I'm not sure if it's common, but that was the first time I'd ever heard any K-pop at an NBA game.

I'm simultaneousliy pleased for them and worried because this kind of success brings sooo much pressure with it. They'll be expected to maintain this level of worldwide domination and nobody can do that forever, you know? And because they are crazyass young--sorry, I am an Auld Person who sees them that way--I am concerned about how this will affect them in the long run.

Eh idt they'll be expected to maintain it forever. That's a bit unrealistic especially in music and more particularly with boy/girl groups I think. Even they are aware that what they have won't last forever. And this isn't even considering their manditory military service which puts this year(?) or next as probably the last full ones we'll see with all seven of them for a while. And who knows how that will affect them popularity wise.

DOH! I somehow completely spaced out about their military service. I guess that was my subconscious and/or wishful thinking that they could be excused due to their financial worth to the SK economy. Sorry about that!
