They did really well on these two songs. They looked really hot and happy to perform which is always a plus. The band in BWL was a nice touch (though I'm not a fan of some of these arrangements) and Mic Drop was bomb. I'll never get tired of that dance break at the end.

Call me biased but Jungkook definitely stole the show tonight. His stage presence is no joke and he was super stable throughout both songs. I'm a proud mama bear.

My wish had always been to see them perform Mic Drop on American TV so this was a very nice surprise.

I'm not sure what they did with the audio in the YouTube videos - it sounded muted and slightly off from the clips I watched on Twitter, probably to dim down the sound of the audience - but regardless, they sounded tired. All of vocal line sounded strained at one point or another, or on the verge of just letting it hang lol, except maybe Jeongguk. But in everything else i.e. the dancing and audience engagement they really brought it. They are happy to be there and it shows.

I'm just a casual listener of BTS but like. That new song is no good the dance is boring and the song is boring lol. I like Mic Drop enough but every time I see the outfits.....ew. Still sad that it's unlikely they'll ever perform Blood Sweat and Tears at any of these TV shows

I'm glad they went for Mic Drop because it does seem to appeal to the US audience the most, esp. after cheesy BWL. But why not in the suits like the MAMA performance oh why oh why. That was the hottest performance ever.

Jin's, Jimin's and V's vocals, well... But Jungkook is a god. And recently I've also found out that people were actually campaigning for J-Hope to be left out or something? With that kind of stage presence?
What was the deal with Jin skipping lines? Could it have been intentional? idgi

i actually enjoyed both performances, mic drop more so because i like the energy especially the dance break with jhope-jungkook-v on the front~

hobi and jungkook did amazing on both songs; taehyung sounds muted on his parts in boy with luv, i prefer him in mic drop simply because i heard him there better, i also prefer yoongi in mic drop simply because i really don't like his verse in bwl ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and did jin forgot to sing the beginning of his first 2 lines in mic drop or was that on purpose? strange decision if it was...

anyway, they all looked like they had fun while performing so i'm happy for them

pretty sure Jin didn't want to sing those lines, he has trouble with switching, which the part requires. He never did that Fake love part either.

I only watched Mic Drop and they danced their butts off. Everyone looked confident and energetic. Very pleased with the performance. I love me a choreographed dancing boy band.

I'm glad they didn't make a sketch. Except for the cold open, this episode was terrible. My whole Twitter was like "what we endure for BTS" and it's true.

It was SO bad. I haven't watched a full SNL episode in ages but I swear even a year ago it wasn't this bad and there were at least some good sketches each show. That Ladies' Room sketch...oh my god...why. What was even the point. They should have made more of an effort knowing how many people would be tuning in just for BTS.

Except for JK, bless his heart, vocal-line sounds bad, as expected. Did Jin forget his lines? He sounded even more nasal than usual in here. Tae was barely audible and had little to no control of his voice. And Jimin... well. Wailing galore.

Hoseok was great! JK and Hobi remain BTS' best live performers wbk.

BWL is such a basic and boring song. The choreo isn't interesting either so it adds absolutely nothing to lift the song. They should've chosen better suits as well, these look ill-fitted.

Mic Drop was a much better performance but their outfits were hideous. BTS needs to change their stylists asap.

I'm glad I woke up at 5 am to watch this, I'm so proud of them! They did really well considering it's such a small stage so they couldn't dance full out as they would probably want to. Vocal line had its problems but I think that's expected by now ...

It's such a vast difference reading comments on here and then ONTD, since everyone on ONTD thought they sucked ass lol and called them (esp. Jin) lazy ...

I'm glad they're going back to Korea now, I'm looking forward to seeing BWL on a bigger stage and with better filming (hopefully)!

I couldnt post anything here this week i was soo busy. I couldnt even watch bwl mv for a second time. So i dont really remember mv or song.
Bwl was soooo good. Choreo was simple compared to their other choreoes but i think it works for the song and concept. And they were very relaxed and they looked like they were having fun. Everyone sounded good. Live band was a plus too. So i am really satisfied with that stage.
But mic drop.. I was actually happy when i heard they performed mic drop because md is one my favourite hype songs. But that stage was a mess. First off all their outfits?! Stylist what were you thinking when you gave them these hideous clothes?? And they skipped the iconic hobi intro like?? That was the coolest part of the choreo. Fans can talk about how jin/jimin/tae improved all they want or discuss that they are not behind in terms of singing technic but these stages proved that jungkook is the most stable one. Boy deserves all the lines he gets. And my bias hobi he was the best performer. His stage presence is just too good and he is so stable. His charisma and energy just so natural and he just shines so much. Ugh i know i am biased but one of the best performer of all gens. And others..i love bangtan so much but they really need a break. First of all yoongis rap in mic drop like what was that? It cut the flow of the song imo. I know fans and members joke about him talking like he is drunk. Or recently his style shifting to more mumbling/migos style rap but i really start to dislike his rapping more and more. It just doesnt work. I know some of you think its because yoongi doesnt give a fuck and write his verse in 2 minutes. But i seriously think his style has changed and he think his verse sounds good lol. I am worried about his new mixtape. I hope i am wrong. Tae-jimin-jin was okay i guess with minor mistakes. But it wasnt their best performance. And i dont think jin forgot his lines. He just skipped that part probably it didnt sound that good during the rehearsal. And namjoon was shouting his part in mic drop and i couldnt understand what he was saying. So overall sadly i dont like mic drop perf. Their mnet comeback stage version is still milesssss better.
And lol at the end of the show when cast started to hug then jin and rm looked at each other and just hugged jahjaahha

I can’t stand Jimin’s voice in Boy With Luv, I don’t know what it is, usually I love it (it’s fine in the rest of MotS:P). So his live was nails on the chalkboard for me. I was unbelievably annoyed by it for no reason that I can articulate.

The dance break in Mic Drop Remix saves this for me. They played to their strengths, the rapping, the swagger and the choreo.

The camera work was shoddy as hell so I didn’t get to enjoy the choreo for Boy With Luv. SNL made them do enough sound checks and rehearsals so I do not get how they could fuck up so badly during the live version. The camera wouldn’t even focus on who was singing.

They all at least looked beautiful. And Jungkook remained most stable, I can see why he is their Golden Child. Suga’s BwL rap does not get better in the live version. J-Hope and RM were great too.

I am just impressed that from a little group that were a fill in for another to having their first comeback on SNL, this band has grown leaps and bound and their trajectory only aims for the stratosphere.

boy with luv is sooo cute and refreshing. I listened to it while doing my cardio yday. but I have to say that it loses some of its charm without halsey! I love her voice in the album streaming version and I think the snl performance definitely could have used more of her vocals — it makes the song for me. also I was expecting more from the choreo and I could tell they were holding back a bit, maybe bc of the size of the stage or the atmosphere?

jimin’s vocals were fine, I think some of y’alls reactions are a lil ott. I think they sounded fine for the most part, but jin especially was winded and missed some of his lines (and I don’t think it was on purpose) and tae also sounded a bit out of breath. jk did great on the ad libs. I really have nothing to say about rap line lol

mic drop needs to die already. I find it to be one of their cringiest songs by far and also it just didn’t work on this stage. the dance is fragmented into units so you’d see a couple of them just hanging out on the sides waiting for their turn bc the stage was so small. retire it!!!

Yeah they should have performed a b-side track from their new album instead of mic drop. I agree mic drop is cringey to me but people here love it for some reason but meanwhile hate on boy with luv, a cute summertime bop. it just seems like they hate rainbows and happiness or something.

For jin i chalk it up to exhaustion and jetlag and maybe he’s worse at dealing with it than the other members. Jungkook seems to be the best at since he even did a vlive after the show

I actually thought they were fine, surprised how some ppl thought it was rough or bad. They didn't go off key, or strained too hard (more than the usual), they did well.

the sound mixing for the vocal line was a bit off IMO (it's SNL, not surprising), cause their live vocals seemed to fight with the backing track rather than blend together sometimes, even though they were technically singing the same notes. Plus Tae's mic had issues on BwL.

J-Hope is MVP for me. Also liked Jungkook's adlibs.

tae's mic had issues? i noticed in some past performances (like that live of 4 o'clock with rapmon) that he has a tendency to sing quietly (almost like he's mumbling) when the song is not as shouty(?) as say mic drop, so i assumed that was the case with bwl lol
