soompi translation of FNC statement:
We clearly state that Lee Jong Hyun and Choi Jong Hoon, who are artists at our agency, have no relation to this incident. Their relationships with the controversial celebrities are only as acquaintances who were in contact with each other.

Choi Jong Hoon recently received a request for cooperation in the police’s investigation, and so he only attended as a reference. We wish to make clear that he was not being investigated nor considered a suspect. Choi Jong Hoon has already completed the police’s investigation, and the tentative conclusion is that he has no particular connection to allegations such as sexual services.

Also, Lee Jong Hyun and Jung Joon Young’s relationship is just that of two people who were in contact a long time ago, and he is not connected to this incident. We hope that you will refrain from unnecessary misunderstandings or speculative reports.

In addition, we will be be taking strong legal action against malicious rumors spreading online about our artists.

The reason why Jung Joonyoung was not charged before

Translation by Netizentown:

Dispatch summary of JJY case, reason the accusations in 2016 ended with "no charge" is because JJY did not submit the "Golden Phone (as nicknamed by Zico)" but acknowledged he filmed his then-gf, claiming he mistakenly thought she'd agreed, and had now deleted vid/replaced phone.

2019, new "Golden Phone". There are supposedly 2 group chats, 1 for business partners (includes Seungri), 1 for friends. JJY's biggest "molka mate" (molka=spycam) is Mr K (Seungri's business partner), to them one night = one 'certification' shot, shared 10 spycams in 10 months

JJY and Highlight member Yong Jun Hyung had 1 on 1 chats, not related to the two groups, but Dispatch casts doubt that YJH might have known about his friend's habits. they cast this conversation under "molka attempt"

Dispatch said that even if the police knew the existence of golden phone 3 years ago, they fell for JJY's excuse abt deleting & breaking phone/didn't insist. A Dispatch informant claims JJY's "habit" is molkas and it's all a game for him and he only pretended to be sorry in 2016.

Translation by goblestone:
In 2016/8 and 2018/11, the police received reports about Jung illegally filming. Both ended as him not a suspect.
Especially in 2018/11, Jung’s phone repair reported the chat history to the police, the police submitted it to the prosecution advicing them not to press charges.

EDIT: FNC's statement: Lee Jonghyun and Choi Jonghoon are NOT related to the controversy in any way and to take legal actions against false rumours

oh shit

though tbh i have to admit that i’m pretty annoyed at some comments i’ve seen around downplaying the gc mess as ā€˜small fish’ and to reshift the focus back to burning sun. it just comes across to me as them wanting more drama/gossip that isn’t tied to a celebrity because they’re afraid it will implicate their own bias. both issues are important and both need to be investigated.

when is this ever going to end? just when you think you know what's going on or you're all caught up more comes out, new names, new layers.

i am obviously so glad that it's coming out but it's scary thinking how deep this might run.

What drugs is he talking about? The supposed date rape drugs these gangnam clubs are peddling? And drugs shouldnt be the only focus of investigation. These guys are sexually harassing and exploiting women, so i say the more celeb names revealed the better

It's obvious that this is a multi-level scandal. Seungri and probably GC are the lowest level and they're hoping to go higher and we haven't really gotten any news about the Gangnam police corruption investigation if I recall. It's just terrifying that journalists have to warn people that if they die suddenly It's because someone is trying to cover up something.

The corruption in the police force is so blatant, what the fuck. I never could trust the police (my country has loooooads of issues with the police) but jfc I still get angry when I read the kind of shit the corrupt police force pulls. Men are garbage.

Hidden cameras always freaked me out. I remember being taught in middle school to check public bathrooms and store changing rooms for potential peep holes. It's so creepy to be watched/filmed.

I hope this helps bring a tidal wave of change throughout Korea.

That scene is very accurate :(

And I agree with your comment, and it plays a big part why I have significantly less interest in male artists in general and am very picky with who I support. Giving someone money who doesn’t support or respect my gender, fuck that let me keep my coins.

I think the one that corruption watch investigating is the one related to seungri's club and the corruption of gangnam police. the one about the group chat is obviously out of their jurisdiction. but yeah, i wish other agency could investigate this instead of the police

I feel like it's more than two.

1. Burning Sun assault of Mr. Kim. Police arrest Mr. Kim instead and let Burning Sun off the hook (police corruption).
2. Burning Sun finds or creates drugged/drunk girls to bring to VIP rooms (drugs and prostitution)
3. Burning Sun drug dealings (drugs and police corruption?)
4. Seungri looking for easy girls for foreign investors (prostitution)
5. Group chat messages (hidden camera, filming without consent)

There is sooooo much which is going on that things are starting to get convoluted.

this is hella common in korea, tbh. soooooo many women who report men for illegal filming/revenge porn have their complaints dismiss by police. i remember there were huge protests going on about it last year.

i think it's foolish of ppl to think celebs sit outside of korea's very real and heavily misogynistic rape culture. i can only imagine what's been swept under the rug.

This is the real scandal in all of this. The fact that women have so little value in society that the police can just decide to let crimes against them slide.
