BTS has set another amazing record!

On November 2 (local time), Apple Music announced, “BTS is the first K-pop artist to break one billion streams.” This is the first time any Korean artist has been able to surpass the milestone on the service, setting a new record for most streams for a Korean artist as well.

According to Apple Music, BTS is said to show an even distribution of streams from around the world from countries such as the United States, Korea, Japan, Canada, Australia, and countries in Europe and Southeast Asia.

BTS is currently gearing up for their “Love Yourself” dome tour, which will begin at Tokyo Dome on November 13 and 14, and carry on to Kyocera Dome, Nagoya Dome, and Fukuoka’s Yafuoku! Dome.

Congratulations to BTS on the meaningful achievement!

I used to really like it because it has a huge range and for its ease of use. But lately I’ve had to remove a lot of kpop albums because the songs are no longer available? Or in certain instances it gets replaced by the Japanese version. But wrt BTS albums I don’t have any issues. I’ve never used Spotify so I can’t compare which is better though. Lol this comment was not helpful at all.

Spotify pisses me off for that reason. Like how is it not possible to have two versions of the songs up? Like does my version of Russian roulette need to be changed to the Japanese version?

edit: that same thing happens with Apple Music. I thought it would be a little bit better

Hmm i wonder if it’s a copyright/distribution issue or if they feel like they’re not making enough from apple music streams

I use Spotify but my brother has a family plan with Apple Music and added me to be nice, and while I appreciated the gesture I’m glad I’m not paying because I just don’t find it that appealing lol and I didn’t find that much more songs on it like I was expecting. It’s ok, but I wouldn’t switch over from Spotify to Apple personally

If you love Spotify for the playlists, then Apple Music may not be for you.

I love the selection of A.M. and how it let's me integrate all of my itunes library and streaming music on one app, but it can be harder to stumble onto new music. It does have curated playlists and you can always search for new music but it doesn't have as many as Spotify. But it does give you a personalize playlist of new music every Friday, and a chill mix every sunday as a playlist of your favs on Tuesdays.

It can be weird with k-pop though. I have a lot of older kpop in my library and it's not on Apple Music (I just looked at Jewelry's discography yesterday and they have recent singles but not the older stuff). I prefer it to spotify, personally.

Proud of them, but then their music is just so easy to listen to, it makes sense.

That's awesome!

Honestly I'm glad to see people are embracing international music even more nowadays. I couldn't have imagined something like this 10 years ago.

WOW that is incredible, that's 6.5-7.5 million dollars in royalty fees.

There are truly international superstars, this just shows that if a company really invests everything they have into the group that they know have that will/power, what happens.
