Ahead of their historic concert at Citi Field in New York, the members of BTS took a moment to share their thoughts and express their gratitude to their fans.

As of October 6 local time, BTS has become the only Korean artist in history to ever hold a solo concert at a stadium in the United States. As the group prepared to perform for tens of thousands of fans, all seven members agreed that the event was a momentous honor and a night that would remain in their memory for a long time to come.

J-Hope remarked, “The fact that we’re holding a concert here, at Citi Field, is really meaningful. I think it’ll be a big part of my history as the singer J-Hope and also a big moment in the life of Jung Hoseok [J-Hope’s given name]. Up until now, we’ve slowly climbed up one step at a time while performing at many different concert venues, and I feel as though finally, the apex is within sight.”

He added, “I want to thank our ARMY, who have given us this immeasurable honor. As this is the greatest of opportunities and moments, I want to work hard to put on an amazing performance.”

V commented, “Finally, we have ended up being able to stand on stage at Citi Field, as we had dreamed. I thought that we had performed at many large venues during our world tours, but I never imagined that we would be able to hold a concert at an even larger venue like this one. We will put on the best of performances for the ARMY that are waiting for us outside. I think it will be a truly amazing day.”

Suga chimed in, “I think that holding a concert at Citi Field is as deeply meaningful as [holding a concert] at a main stadium in Korea or a dome in Japan. Even setting aside the size of the venue, I feel especially moved because it’s a stage on which only a small minority of singers get to perform.”

He continued, “Instead of just being satisfied with our present [accomplishments], I want to show even better performances to [future] audiences. I hope that Citi Field is our start.”

Jimin remarked, “It’s truly an honor and a delight to be able to hold a concert at Citi Field. I still can’t believe it, and all I feel right now is gratitude towards all of the fans who come to see our concerts and always cheer us on. I’m looking forward [to the concert] while imagining what Citi Field will look like once it’s packed with our fans. I will express these feelings of gratitude by showing [the audience] everything I can at tonight’s concert.”

Jin agreed, “It’s truly an honor to be able to perform at such a large venue not only in Korea, but also here in the United States. Many audience members sing along to our songs at our concerts, and just thinking about how all those people [in Citi Field] will be singing along to our songs gives me goosebumps. I’m so happy.”

Jungkook commented, “This is our first holding a concert at an American stadium. It’s something very special, and it’s truly an honor. I think that this might be one of the best days of my entire year. I’m eager to enjoy the stage and have fun with our fans, and I also want to tell our ARMY that I’m incredibly grateful.”

Finally, RM shared, “I still can’t believe it, and I feel like one of my precious dreams has finally been realized. We’ve heard that there are many people waiting outside, and I will be sure to work hard so that we can repay their expectations through our concert.”

BTS’s concert at Citi Field will mark the end of the U.S. leg of their “Love Yourself” world tour, which kicked off in Seoul this August. The group will head to the United Kingdom and Europe next, followed by Japan in November.

I'm so proud of them!! They can easily do a stadium tour at this point. I just don't know if I want them to do it soon, because the touring is so exhausting for them, but they're at the top right now and the possibilities are endless.

also is there gonna be a post or can I share some thoughts on Taehyung's vlive here? He seemed kinda subdued. Practically no fanservice. I mean he was still adorable but I've watched all their solo/duo vlives this tour and it felt different in energy to me. Maybe he was just tired.

and I can't at him barely saying twenty sentences over the course of one hour and yet causing another fandom controversy lmao. He's really cursed.

The only thing my biased ass gleaned from that vlive is the Christmas song he wrote...which he wanted to sing with Jimin....but some producer won’t let him bc these lyrics apparently don’t go together with two guys singing....and now he’s not releasing it. Ngl my brain went “Bighit is a homophobe”. Cue Kill Bill sirens blaring. That and his clothing customisations, which are cute; like yes, they look like something straight out of Spongebob, but he could actually reference where he got his inspirations from and I appreciate that.

Aside from that I think he’s probably tired. Ngl tho I kinda enjoy his subdued self here, it gives me the chance to actually see another, possibly more mature side of him and I feel like I can take him more seriously.

he's such a hipster with his clothing customising art school 101 stuff but he's so endearingly earnest and excited about it, it's cute

also yeah the Christmas song controversy was what I meant, although I don't really understand it cause Bighit has never had a problem with the boys recording romantic songs as duets before (Fools, WDTA, the OST etc). The lyrics we heard didn't even sound super duper romantic in nature. Idk.

His earnestness about it makes it difficult to even side-eye at him. It’s just cute. I prefer this Taehyung a lot more than the “flaunt every piece of Gucci I own in front of my fans who shell out exorbitant amounts of money for my concerts/fangifts” Taehyung aka 2017 Taehyung.

Lmao same, I don’t understand the logic either. Like, a bit of clarification wouldn’t hurt, cuz right now, with the way Taehyung put it, everything just seems........homophobic lol I can’t even think of another word for this.

Yeah, I was suspicious of his interest at first, honestly out of my own prejudices, but it’s pretty clear at this point that it’s quite genuine, and I can appreciate that. And lol I was soooo annoyed with him dressing himself head to toe in Gucci 24/7 during 2017. I ranted about it so much on here. That and that stupid V-sign he did on his face for every photo taken back then pushed him way down on the likability scale for me for a while. If he hadn’t toned it down in both categories, and if Bighit hasn’t stopped accepting fangifts, AND if it weren’t for seeing his response to fighting with Jin in Burn The Stage (my cold dead heart grew 3x that day), I probably would have stayed disliking him tbh.

Yes, I felt bad for him too. At the very least he is upset that he wasn’t given the green-light to produce this with the person he had in mind for it. I don’t get what’s the deal with the producer. Let the dude sing with this with his soulmate like he intended dammit!

Their next tour should be a US baseball stadium tour. It'll probably be less exhausting than performing four nights in one stop because they're so in demamd. All they'll need is one or two nights at the most. However, I hate NJtransit and traveling through NY so I'd a little sad if the stopped coming to the prudential center.

I didn't go to this concert but there was so much posted online that I felt like I was there in spirit.

I was there and omg 😭😭😭 I cried at the very end. After Namjoon finished his ending speech my eyes were already watery, I let it all out as soon as I saw Jimin cry. A lot of the members got very emotional in the end too.Junkgkook kept bowing, Namjoon kept blowing kisses, and everyone interacted so much with the top tier sections. Jungkook was unbelievably adorable recording the fans and his members on stage. While I was there I didn’t think we were that loud, all I could hear was the music, but looking and listening to some fancams damnnn we were super loud. A lot of the citi field security staff started recording the fans, and boys at the very end lol. I think they’re coming back next year and will try to do an actual stadium tour. I’m so happy I went yesterday. I love and adore these boys so much.

I'm so proud of them! I ended up going to both days in Chicago and I made it through without crying, But I cried watching last night when Jimin started. I hope they get some rest while traveling and I can't wait to see them again next year!

They keep saying they ll be back next year, so we re hoping they ll do the same for starving Europe as well. Makes me even more sad i didnt get a ticket when i could have. Not cheap at all (300 euro, upper row), but it looks like they ll only give concerts at stadiums from now on so that was probably the only chance to see them in a smaller venue.

Now, about their comments above. Suga was very careful not to make it seem something bigger than their stadium concerts in Asian countries, but, come on, it is a big thing. Huge. Hope we ll start seeing articles written on this. I ve seen lots of tweets on the significance of so many Americans singing in Korean, of how BTS helped fight negative stereotypes against Asian men etc, but that was it I think

If you live close to one of the venues, I'd advise you to keep checking up to the day of the concert itself. The venues hold some seats back and scalpers release them for cheap if they haven't been able to push their marked up tickets

yes, i've been counting on that so much, but I live in another country and flight prices have become so freaking expensive
I still can't get myself to cancel the (thankfully refundable) hotel though...

I was there! I was in a section all the way at the top, but I had so much fun! Jimin was flirting with the audience so much. Jin made me laugh with his 2 army bombs attached to his shoulders. :)
