iKON's Junhoe apologises for IG post and comments to fans

iKON’s Junhoe has apologized for posting about a certain movie director and talking in a casual manner with fans.

On September 25, iKON’s Junhoe apologized on his Instagram, posting, “I’m sorry, he was an actor I liked, so I didn’t know of any other information. Because my fans are like my friends, I didn’t realize talking comfortably would become like this. I’m truly sorry. In the future, I’ll become a Junhoe that speaks carefully. I’m sorry for causing concerns.”

Prior to making his apology, Junhoe had posted an image of a gift given to him by Japanese movie director and comedian Kitano Takeshi on a now deleted Instagram post. In the photo, Kitano Takeshi had given him a package with a note that said, “For Junhoe. From Takeshi Kitano.”

A famous director in Japan, Kitano Takeshi had previously gained attention for allegedly making disparaging comments about Korea.

In response to Junhoe’s Instagram post, fans flooded his comments to inform him of the director’s reputation. When one fan asked him to delete his post, Junhoe responded, “Don’t tell me to do this or that~~ No.”

To another fan, Junhoe wrote, “I like him as an artist, so no. Whenever something happens, do I have to chicken out and delete everything?” In another comment, he added, “I also have emotions, so please respect that. There’s nothing wrong with me liking [him] as an artist.”

Is it me or there's an increase in tension between Japan and Skorea nowadays ?

I don't know this band at all but is it that bad for him to talk casually to fans ? Aren't they happy about that ? ((+_+))

Same @ the Japan and S.Korea tensions. I thought their relations were making good progress with all the art/entertainment exchange but then things like this happens and it feels like another two steps back.

I think there’s nothing wrong with him talking casually to fans if he’s deliberated and made his choice, and honestly fans should appreciate it as artists are entitled to set stricter boundaries should they want to. Problem is he picked a sensitive subject matter that not even fans are gonna take it lol.

no more than usual, but the vocal minority will always be super fckn vocal about their perceived grievances against the other. Japan IS pissed off about the Koreas playing nice tho. I started a rant about all the complaints each country's nationalists have against the other, but then it got very capslocky and long. Nationalism is not about coherency or logic, so....

Well, Takeshi Kitano said some shady stuff about how korea took dokdo from japan and that china and korea tries to always provoke Japan to get more money (which was in his book) so I think it's justified.

He also didn't make it better by saying that he just likes him as an artist to a fan that tried to warn him and then saying he didn't know about it. Like boi, y'all were getting big.

generally I'm not too supportive of nationalistic stuff interfering in cultural stutt (imagine that was coherent) but his tone in response to his fans sounds bratty and dismissive

or maybe I'm just done with trying to convince my liberal male friends that the shit going on American is a big deal to women, even in the 80s ....
