Flashback Friday
2018-09-14 03:30 pmHappy Friday! I started drinking at lunch because it’s yo girl’s birthday weekend! I’m a bit tipsy and most likely will not proofread this post. I can’t wait to nap after this. Anywhos, every week I check out the charts for this day in the past and share the top three songs. Then I pick out two more songs from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week, let’s see what we were listening to in the 2nd week of September, 2008.
#3 FT Island “After Love”
I don’t remember this era at all, but here’s their comeback stage on Music Core. It starts off so dramatic lol. Actually, the whole stage is dramatic. Lots of longing gazes and hand gestures to the camera. Hongki just announced his solo comeback a few days ago.
#2 Brown Eyed Girls “You”
This is another song that I don’t remember. It was a song off their second mini, “My Style”. It wasn’t the lead single, and there’s no MV for it. But the album did well and this song charted too, so here’s an audio video.
#1 Big Bang “Haru Haru”
I think that they’ve been performing the acoustic version longer than they performed the original song now. I love the acoustic stages, they sound so good! Here’s a live stage from the MADE tour back in 2015. I was listening to the Always EP a couple of nights ago (I love a good cry before bedtime, it helps with a deeper sleep) and I think Taeyang especially sounds very much the same. I miss Tabi’s growls and adlibs.
Honorable Mentions
#6 Younha “Telepathy”
I still think this sounds like it’s on a 2000s era teen movie. I prefer her other songs more than this genre. Less teen movie and more KDrama heartache.
#10 Solbi featuring Maniac “Do It Do It”
Once the MV started I was all “this looks so dated and old”. And then the song picked up and then I was like “oh shit I remember this, I’M so dated and old!” lol. Solbi is still pretty active in a lot of things, music and art and I remember she did a lot of variety shows last year. And this features Maniac, who is still making music. He did a song with Lee Michelle last year.

Date: 2018-09-15 01:28 am (UTC)Been meaning to make that post about Hongki's comeback but I'm so tired lol
Loved After Love when I first got into them but it's pretty lackluster to me now (Hongki still sounds amazing though). It was also their first comeback since their super popular debut year and they lost a lot of people's interest by that point, damm.
