idk why these clips are available when this hasn't aired yet.. i was surprised to wake up and see it everywhere so figured i'd make a post lol. fake love sounds like shit tbh and they didn't even talk but ellen scaring them was funny.

that Fake Love performance was...okay except for some Jimin and all Jin parts tbh.

I feel so conflicted cause I like Jin so much as a person but his voice is so grating to me when he's not in a comfortable range, and his comfortable range is like five notes. I can deal with Kook's whispery whining, Jimin's flat straining and Taehyung's marblemouth growling cause I find their voices overall pleasant to listen to, and they mostly sound fine.

But Jin's vocal colour is only nice to me when he's relaxed and he's basically never relaxed. he sounds really shrill and nasal when he gets tense. So it's not like I'm advocating for less lines for Jin cause I thought it was unfair when he only had half a shared line per song but also...maybe some easier (and a little less) lines for Jin.

i am 10000% in your lane, except jimin's straining and inability to breathe when singing (he literally always sounds like he's a breath away from passing out) also grates on my nerves.

i wanna love jin's vocals because he sounded pretty in save me and spring day, but most of his parts are just genuinely painful to listen to. i literally cannot listen to we are bulletproof pt.2 because of what they made jin do. it's really unpleasant.

They sounded horrible during fake love and not that much better during airplane lol. I love bts but I feel like stans tend to oversell how stable they actually are live and the fact that they get a lot of help from backtracks (the vocalists that is). These performances are a great example of why Jungkook is lead vocal despite some saying V is better from a technical standpoint.

Also, I love the enthusiasm but their fans were just, way too loud. You could barely hear anything lol.

I loved Tae english sentence about the bbmas, what a fluent king! You can tell he's really working hard in trying to learn english and it shows.
Also I absolutely love the choreo for Airplane pt. 2! Jungkook looks so hot during that stage

fans whine about how bangtan is always called a boyband in america, but then go around screaming and screeching any time one of them moves ... it's no wonder thats the narrative the us media is running with. ellen looked like she was starting to get annoyed lmao (and it is annoying as a viewer. i imagine it does not leave a good impression for anyone watching them for the first time. i wanna be able to hear them talk!)

rapmon was so cute when he seemed genuinely excited that he got to visit the real friends set.

I'm really pleasantly surprised at the backlash against the audience.

I feel like Jin got a lot of simultaneous dancing and singing lines this promo because of past protests from the fans. Unfortunately, this may be the result. OTOH, Big Hit has got to start composing songs in ranges in which the members are comfortable and not what they aspire to be able to do.

I still love Airplane Pt 2's choreography. It's so much fun to watch!

I have started watching interviews just to watch Suga's reactions. I want to watch so much Suga, but it requires wading through so much time with the other ones.

I find Ellen charming, and I liked last year's interview, but I was hoping for a bit more pushing on "special time with fans" or similar. As if RM does not know what the word 'dating' means, who is he fooling as her to repeat after starting to translate it.

I rewatched this show due to time-shifting and had to mute that Fake Love performance. Strange that it was so bad when it was technically one of their first Fake Love performances. From the vocal line only V sounded good. 3J sounded like caterwauling cats. The rap line saved this.

Airplane was marginally better. That choreo is cute af.

Jimin checking in the box after the prank and then all of them popping up on the set of Friends was super cute.

i wanted to go to the london concert until fake love came out and i reminded myself that i don't want to be within 5 feet of army because they are honestly the most insufferable fandom imaginable. i'm constantly asking a wall on twitter if it'll behave when bts are in america and remember x is not a bts concert/variety show/award ceremony and to respect the other hosts/performers/acts. this is why.

my friend says she's going to get tickets for both days. she's one of those bizarre "these days i only listen to bts" fans. it annoys me that it'll still probably make me bitter enough to think about buying a ticket again.

yeah...considering army don't actually seem to care about hearing the boys but just want to let their individual presences known, i can't imagine my hoh self hearing a damn thing. i'm not sure i want to pay £60+ to watch their pretty selves through a big screen (because i'm sure army would all get in the way of me seeing them in person) but only hear fan screeching.

i was so uncomfortable the first time i watched bts on ellen because they talk but you wouldn't know it, you can't hear a single word out of their mouths for the unbearable screeching of "oh my god oppa is in front of me i must let him know how much i love him more than every single other girl here". i haven't actually watched the video above because the comments have told me all i need to know.

i love bts fans. bts fans are lovely, rational people who support the boys and love the music. bts fans are usually multifan and patient and supportive and don't scream over bts. a lot of korean fans are this way--you can at least hear them sing on korean music shows. the majority of self-professed army, who only support bts? nah son, you'd better enjoy the pretty because you're not hearing anything.

i think i may have talked myself into 1) not going and 2) muting my friend for at least the next 5 months.

I figured Fake Love was going to be a struggle for them live when I heard it. Jin is especially terrible, he really shouldn't be getting singing more parts. On a more positive note, Jungkook has been looking especially good this comeback.

the airplane choreo is growing on me, at first i thought the mic stands were a bit too much but it works for me now. i always crack up at jimin's intro though, i just imagine ppl going "who's this twink who's jumping out outta nowhere" sjgjhsfhj
all the comments abt the fake love performance made me wanna watch it just to see how bad it was, and yeh... yeah. this is smth i've felt since fake love was released but i didn't wanna say anything about it bc it felt mean but... tbqh jin's part in the chorus puts a bit of a damper on the entire song for me. his voice sounds damn near ridiculous when attempting to reach those notes, it reminds me of how he sounded when singing the pre-chorus of mic drop live (first time i'm thankful for excessive autotune in a studio version lmao). i also don't like the choreo at that part in fake love as well, like right after jimin's great angsty emo acting (his vocal chords bursting at the seams but at least he nails the performance bit) we get some goofy-ass move that looks like smth out of that key&peele aerobics sketch

I thought they sounded fine for the most part. Definitely not their best live performance, but it's not as awful as some of y'all are making it out.

And I wish Ellen would stop pushing this and having the same interview. It was basically the same as last time. Dating/Fangirls/Friends jokes. I can just go back and watch last years. The airplane performance was not bad but Fake Love was definitely awful, especially for BTS standards. But it's like one bad performance out of their hundreds of great ones so it's not that big of a deal to admit it imo. It's not like a situation with Twice or EXO where it's a chronic issue

And yes that interview was weak as hell. I feel like the only reason they did it was so they could do the scaring segment. And this crazy fangirl agenda they've been tryna push is so tiring. I was on reddit and some ppl were talking about how the fans in the friends set segment and the front were all casted because they wanted a certain look (teenage fangirl). Which is sad that other fans were passed over a chance to meet BTS bc they didnt look the part. I mean, obviously bts does have teenage fangirls,there's no way around that and no one who is a teenage girl who stans them should feel like they are 'ruining their image' just for existing but like the fact that crowd looks nothing like the crowd I saw when I went to their concert last year is sus as hell.
