"BTS: Burn The Stage" a YouTube Red Original Series Coming Soon!

"BTS: Burn The Stage" will be released on March 28 08:00PM (PST) exclusively on Youtube Red. The series is a docu-reality featuring the growth of BTS organized by BigHit Entertainment and Youtube Red. It was recorded over 300 days during Wings Tour (February-December 2017). It contains behind the scenes footage, members' inner thoughts, their brotherhood and BTS' efforts to become a global artist.

Release date: Midnight (KST) on every Thursday during March 29 to May 10, every Wednesday 08:00PM (PST).
Release channel: Bangtan TV

The series has 8 episodes with episode 1 & 2 being released on Mar 28 12AM KST. Everyone can watch the first episode for free and starting with the second episode, you should either subscribe to YT Red or purchase each episode.

Users in Korea and US will receive a special promotion of 2 months free trial of YT Red available from March 14 to April 14. You can cancel at any time. Click here for more details.

For countries where YT Red is available but without special promotions, one month free trial is available if you subscribe to YT Red.

i haven't watched any of bangtan's non-mv content for likr 6 months now because 1. there's too much of it and 2. it's almost repetitive in a way. i'm definitely going to check out at least the first ep of this because it sounds like it has the potential to be interesting and hopefully youtube will do better with the quality (subs, etc) of paid content instead of v app, which was still a joke up until the last bon voyage which was the last time i tried to watch anything on there.

also the members' thoughts bit is making me wish it'll have a talking head confessional in true reality tv style lmaooo

Looks like I gotta sign up for YouTube Red. I'm totally here for actual reality show and not just some variety show pretending to be reality.
Is it just me or is kpop becoming more real? Like people are showing their actual personalities and not just some character they were told to be? More idols are being real and speaking of actual real life. I like it.

I'm kinda surprised about the response from omona cuz most people I've talked to on Tumblr think this is a bad idea, like we shouldn't see these things that are more personal. I'm okay with it cuz...bts did make a comment about how they feel a bit fake cuz we only see the good sides, maybe they want to show us more sides to them. I doubt they'll show anything that's too controversial but idols do get sick and they get mad and that's okay.They aren't happy 24/7 and I think that's fine to show as long as it doesn't overstep boundaries which I guess is up to the members.

i agree that tumblr's opposition to this is mainly irrational, but i do side-eye those sensationalist descriptions lol. i would like to have an honest and "raw" documentary, but if it's heavily edited to be more dramatic and similar to american tv-shows then it kind of defeats the entire purpose of the premise... hopefully it's edited in a similar style to bon voyage

I won't lie, I love a bit of drama and am intrigued by this but it's going to be just as fake and planned as their "love my members" videos are. If Big Hit won't even let them have unscripted unsupervised interviews then they sure as hell aren't going to show us real flaws, and while I'm all for idols being shown as real human beings showing stuff like fainting and physical/emotional duress just feeds into the whole "omg my poor boys are having such a hard time! I must pour more money into them" narrative which is just tacky. It's almost like they feel like this is something America might want and made it to pander as if we all don't have plenty of trashy reality TV like this already. Give me BTS reenacting Project Runway, maybe.

I'll happily tune in a few years from now when the less relevant members are ready to read Big Hit to filth with their tell all biographies though.
