15th Korean Music Awards Announces Nominees

This year’s Korean Music Awards has revealed the nominees!

On February 6, a press conference was held to announce the nominations for the 15th year of the ceremony. The Korean Music Awards focuses on the albums and songs more than the artists, and musical achievement is considered rather than sales. The awards show aims to go beyond the barrier between mainstream and non-mainstream music.

those are the awards that said they won't be nominating the popular acts only right? tbh i like these nominees, but i'm really surprised they chose dna instead of spring day for a song of the year. i guess for the best pop song it makes sense, but spring day made almost twice as much as dna (in korea) and it's been staying around 30th place on melon since its release for the entire year. i mean, it doesn't really matter, just thought it was weird.

It feels good to see CIFIKA and Sam Seo’s name here. I really like the diversity of the nominees....at least other artists will have a chance. I was shocked to find out Uhm Junghwa never won a Daesang before.
