BTS’s RM Receives Surgery For Deviated Septum

BTS’s RM has recently received surgery.

On February 5, industry representatives reported that RM rgot surgery for a deviated septum.

In response, Big Hit Entertainment commented, “It is true that RM received surgery. He recently got surgery and has now been discharged from the hospital. He will rest and focus on recovery for now.”

A deviated septum is a condition where the nasal septum is shifted off center, which can cause difficulty in breathing through the nose.

i remember how back in the day among celebs it was a popular excuse for getting a new nose...
jokes aside i have exactly the same issue, so i feel for him and it was the right choice (but i don't think i will ever go for surgery). hope he has speedy recovery and time to rest before going back to bts activities!

I had deviated septum surgery and honestly, being able to breathe through both nostrils and not getting headaches because of that is amazing, I hope it fixes any problems he was having. I (luckily) needed hardly any recovery time (like I was out at dinner less than 2 days later) so hopefully his recovery goes well!

can you tell me about the headaches? I only have one functioning nostril and it's giving me all sorts of symptoms, one of which I believe is a ton of bad headaches, but my last ENT thought there was no connection between headaches and a septum issue...

I had bad sinus issues because of my deviated septum (I would get sinus headaches/infections fairly regularly) so I had to get a CT scan before my surgery and they cleaned out my sinuses while they were in there. It was really such a great decision for me to get it done.

I think we had the same surgery! The week or two I spent breathing through my mouth waiting for the packing in my sinuses to disintegrate was rough though.

do you get headaches/pressure around forehead, eyes or over cheeks? those are definitely related to sinuses. it's usually worsened by untreated allergies. i would consider getting a second opinion (worked at an ent office lol)

Speaking from experience, if all he had done was a septum correction then it shouldn’t change his nose at all really. My doctor said they use micro tools to go in simply without having to do anything to the shape of someone’s nose.

Even if it's minor, surgery always seems so scary to me.

He's spoken a bit about having issues sleeping/breathing bc of this. Like I go crazy if I have a stuffed nose, due to a cold for a couple of days. I can't even imagine how uncomfortable and inconvenient it must be to deal with that everyday, let alone while having to perform and travel so much.

I'm glad it went fine and he's okay tho.
