BTS Reportedly Unable To Attend Gaon Chart Music Awards

BTS may not be attending the upcoming Gaon Chart Music Awards.

On February 1, a media source reported that the group is unable to attend the awards ceremony due to predetermined schedules. Their agency, however, has not given an official statement yet.

The Gaon Chart Music Awards is organized by the Korea Music Content Industry Association and will be held on February 14 at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul.

As previously announced, Super Junior’s Leeteuk and TWICE’s Dahyun will be MCs, and the first round of performers will include TWICE, IU, Sunmi, Epik High, Wanna One, SEVENTEEN, Changmo, Heize, Hwang Chi Yeul, MeloMance, NU’EST W, SECHSKIES, GOT7, and Lee Soo Hyun from Akdong Musician.

I'm pretty okay with this >.>. They kept us well fed with the awards/end-of-year shows. I'm beyond sick of DNA performances. I just hope nobody bought tickets expecting BTS to be there.

I remembered that Big Hit BTS schedule page when I first saw this news, so I went to look at it and it's blank? Are they announcing BTS's schedule elsewhere, or are they also tired of trying to keep track of BTS?

I think they only announce "official" schedules on that page like TV appearances, fan events, concerts. Private events or recordings for stuff are not posted there. They just announced they'll release their 3rd Japanese album + fan meetings in Japan so I guess that's why they are busy.

That's also true. But until then we have Hixtape, whatever Namjoon wants to release, tons of Run BTS, the Global Vlive Top10 thing (which is also pre-recorded), maybe something with PUMA? (they posted something on twt and idk if it's goodbye or if they're planning something), maybe even another collab with another international artist? There are so many possibilities lol but for now yeah, February looks empty and it's so weird. I mean last summer we at least had BV2 to watch and then in March-April while they were on tour we had Run and Gayo episodes.

At this point, I think he's gonna release it on/for his birthday but God knows what "soon" means according to them. I have to catch up on a couple of Run ep and some Bangtan Bombs/Episodes too.

I didn't even watch their variety appearances from last year. It's bad. It's very bad. But IA with a Weekly Idol appearance. It's been too long.

/cough/ i'm sick of seeing performances of dna too. including mic drop ngl. like, sma 2018 was an absolute chore to get through, when it was done i was like "thank you, fuck, now i can shower and sleep" lol. i never had these thoughts for their previous releases before, and i think it's maybe because this time their added appearances on the amas and other american shows bombarded us with even more performances throughout the entire promotion cycle to the point where we got saturated.
