The addition of the Native American cartoon man and RapMon's screeching right after is nagl.And even if they were referring to the Native convention of having names as description, I think trying to equate 'V-is-a-fool" to actual native names is insulting.But I'm a non-native tbf, y knowledge in this area is lacking

for some reason i still get surprised whenever people talk over the actual people that were offended. you would think that people would listen and try to find out where things went wrong... instead i've read some posts from people telling others to stop overreactinc and tl blame the editors. the lives of some of these fans would be less stressfull if they would just admit they their faves are human and will mess up. this way they won't have to bend over backwards to defend their faves or "hide" their fckups.

A really close friend of mine through high school was native american and kids would do that war cry shit at him in the halls... seeing namjoon do it makes me livid.

I can understand some level of ignorance / just not knowing any better w/ the "Indian name" conversation but that war cry shit is just blatantly, indefensibly racist. It's just mocking indigenous people, it's the low hanging fruit of racial insensitivity.

Anyone trying to defend this is a blind stan and should be embarrassed. I don't think they will ever learn and after reading that interview Namjoon did in India, I kind of think they don't WANT to learn, because he made some very indignant sounding "people like to get offended" type comments in there that make me think he's of the "it's all haters tryna drag me down" mindset.

So I watched the actual VLive. The thing that dinged the most insensitive to me was the editing. The Indian picture and than the text from the editors saying Kim stands with his fist.

Context: Thet are playing a game where they are asked a question and they have to reply with nonsense. They ask Jin, “What is V’s Nickname?” and Jin says “V is a Fool.” They are always trying to make each other lose the game so Suga says to Jin “Your answer does make sense, look at Indian names like “Stands With a Fist” Then Jin asks “Then what would be a nonsense answer?” and RM strings together a bunch of vowels. The caption for this on the screen says keyboard smash.

So everyone gets to make up their own mind if the above offends them.

Yes. Seriously, I'm so confused. When I read the context, I don't see in what part did BTS make fun of Native Indians? Yoongi was basically saying that if you think about Indian names like 'Stand up with your fists clenched', 'V is a fool' can be considered a name, hence, Jin calling himself 'V is a fool' would make sense. And when BTS agreed with Yoongi, Jin asked what it should be and Namjoon just started screeching some random words because saying those words, wouldn't make sense as a nickname. So, I don't know. I don't get it?

I was watching this ep and I just had a hoe don't do it moment. What gets me AGAIN is the fandom once AGAIN excusing things they don't have the right to excuse. If ya'll on twitter saying "please don't bring this to the spotlight, educate them" how about you educate ya damn selves? I also peep that a lot of fans that say BTS are woke kings are usually whyte. I don't think I've seen thankfully on my blissfully black/POC twitter feed anyone defending them and with other situations as well. What I'm saying is we need a purge. Anyway dragging builds character. Hope they learn from it if they're trying to keep this popularity as international idols get so damn cultural sensitivity training.

Edit: and I realize I'm on my soapbox again but fandom mentality overall just makes me so heated. If people get offended from insensitivity dammit let them.
